《Edge of Glory | Supergirl 1》Chapter 6

Katie and Leah ran into the office, only allowed because Leah stated that she was Cat Grant's daughter, otherwise, the guards would have kicked the two out immediately. Leah ran to her mother, arms wrapping around her in an instant.
"Oh, Leah. Strong grip."
Leah released her, "Oh, um, sorry mother."
Cat gave her daughter an odd look, "Leah, what are you doing here?"
"Kara called me. She said you were attacked."
Cat turned her head to look at Kara, "Did she now?"
Kara fixed her glasses, "I'm sorry, I thought that your daughter should know that you were in danger."
Katie grinned, "Thank goodness Supergirl was there to save you."
"Maybe if Captain Marvel was there as well Leslie would have been stopped." Cat waltzed into her office, "I mean Livewire."
Kara glanced at Leah, when Hank walked into the room, "Miss Grant, may I speak with Miss Danvers?"
"Of course." Cat waved her hands, allowing Kara to follow Hank out of the room. "Leah, sweetheart, I think that it is best if you'd leave the premises before Livewire returns."
"Mom-"
"No, I am your mother and you will listen to me." Cat warned, "If you were injured because of my choices it would kill me."
Katie felt uncomfortable being in the room, she has never seen Cat Grant act in such a way, it gave her a shock. She backed up silently, making sure the couple didn't notice it. She moved outside, shutting the door when Hank came over to her.
"Miss Schott, your DNA examples have been analyzed, I'd like to talk you back to the DEO and explain with your results in hand."
Katie's hand moved to her forearm, suddenly realization hitting her, that she had absolutely forgotten about her crazy powers. "Of course, Director Henshaw."
When she was walked into the DEO, she felt a sudden dread, not exactly wanting to know what was wrong with her. Henshaw handed her a clipboard, her photo and everything about her was on it, "Your body contains elements of dark matter."

"Dark matter?" Katie questions.
"It seems to have infused with your blood, your whole system, giving you metahuman powers." Alex states, "There are traces of solar energy inside of you."
"As in the sun?"
"Something like that," Henshaw says.

Kara approached Leah, "I heard from Winn that you have a suit."
Leah laughs, "Of course he'd be proud of that, he made the suit." She turned to notice Kara was staring intently at her, "Why are you here Kara?"
"To ask you to protect your mother with me."
Leah smiles, "Sounds like fun."
"Suit up."
Kara and Leah flew to the balcony, Leah tugged at the suit, but stayed confident beside Kara, "Hello, Ms. Grant."
Cat stood up, surprised to see Captain Marvel beside Supergirl, seeing a resemblance between the two, "You know, if you would just give me your cell phone number, I wouldn't have to do so much back-channeling." Her eyes trail back to Captain Marvel, "And what a non-surprise to see that you work alongside Supergirl. Now, you want to catch Livewire, so do I. I can draw her out, but then we'll have to work together. What do you say? Partners?"
Leah smiled at her mother, "Sounds like a plan."
The two Kryptonians flew to the DEO, to see Katie in an agent suit, "Katie?"
"They're teaching me how to fight, apparently I'm a metahuman with solar manipulation powers. So now I get to learn about fighting." Katie smiles, "Looks like we get to work together with two jobs now."
Hank Henshaw stared at Leah in the suit, "I told you to tell me if you had more family. Welcome to the team Miss Grant."
Alex walked forward placing the device on the table, "This is what you'll need."
"Lightning in a bottle."
"Or, technically, lightning in a portable industrial capacitor."
"Get it underneath her, spring it open and close it. The electricity running through will be drawn inside. She'll be temporarily broken down on the atomic level, at least until we can get her into permanent containment."

"Cool." Katie stares at the device, "Like Ghostbusters."
Kara picked up the small metal device in her hands, "Sounds like a plan."
"You gonna tell us where you're going?" Alex questions, staring at her sister.
"This is between us." Kara looked at Leah, "Miss Grant and Livewire."
"Based on the amount of power she's consumed, there is a very real chance that she's gonna be strong enough..."
"To hurt us." Leah pokes in.
"Kara, Leah, she can kill you."
Leah gulped down nervously, "We'll be fine, Kara will be fine."

"Citizens of National City, this is Cat Grant, broadcasting live from Catco Plaza, which despite a vicious attack yesterday, is still open for business. This message is for the person behind that attack. Leslie, if you are hearing this, your grudge is with me, not National City, so let's not see if we can't come to an agreement. Let's meet... Where it all began, as they say. I'm not one to look back, but it just feels right this time."
"We'll keep you safe mo-Ms. Grant." Leah says, correcting herself.
Cat turned to her, "I know you will, Captain Marvel."
Leah and Kara landed when they saw Livewire attack Cat, "LESLIE!"
"Captain Marvel." Leslie laughs loudly, "Another wanna be superhero. Your 15 minutes are up, you boring, weak..."
"Oh shut up you bitch!" Leah flew forward going after Livewire but was stopped by electricity, making her hit a car. Kara ran over, ducking under Leslie's fist, and punching her, Leslie turned back into electricity, hiding into a post lamp.
Leslie came out of the lamp behind them, Leah stood up, yelling out in pain when Livewire wrapped her body with electrical whips. It went around her neck, pulling Leah forward. She used this to her advantage and punched Leslie.
Kara took this as a chance to activate the device, but Leslie noticed and broke it before it could work. "Nice try." She sent electricity towards the two heroes, "I wonder if I have enough power to stop your hearts."
"Leslie! Leslie, don't do this!"
Leah grunts, using her vision to look into the ground, seeing a water pipe below us. She groaned, "Supergirl, the grou-"
"You're better than this. You are Leslie Willis."
"If it makes you feel better I'll always give you credit for giving me my start. And finishing you off."
Kara punched into the cement, breaking the water pipe to use against Livewire, she pulled it up and aimed the water her way. Sparks flew as Livewire screamed out in pain before dropping to the ground.
Leah stood up, wiping the water from her face, "Water and electricity, never a good match."
"Thanks for your help," Kara says, looking over at Cat.
"Oh, you're welcome, Supergirl, Captain Marvel."
Leah smiles at her mother, picking Livewire up, they flew over to the DEO dropping her off.
♕~♕~♕~♕~♕
Katie smiles as Kara drops containers in front of her and her brother. "Okay. Turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, sweet potato, and three slices of pie. Payment in full for putting up with my crazy family."
"Thanks." Katie lifted the food, catching the vital bracelet on her wrist, she coughed putting her wrist down. She saw Leah, "Hey, I'll talk with you later."
Leah put the paperwork down, "Heya."
"Look at the new superhero in town." Katie pointed at the screen, it was a photo of both Supergirl and Captain Marvel next to each other, "Everyone's taken a liking to you."
Leah released a laugh, "And they'll be getting a third one soon."
Katie smiled, leaning against the wall, "Totally, can't wait to hear the name Cat Grant gives me."
"Probably something you won't like."
Katie taps her foot against the ground, "Kara grew to love her name, and you seem to enjoy yours. When the time comes I'll love mine."
"Can't wait to see that time come."
Her watch beeped, "Training calls, guess that time might be soon."

Unknown Fate's End
The ancient's believed that a man's fate or destiny is written already, and that only God or maybe the Gods could change it. If they did change it, it was believed it was for a purpose unknown to that man or for maybe for the ammusement of those higher beings. However, whether that is true or not, one thing is for certain. Changing a man's fate will create a ripple of changes. Join our hero, who whether by luck, by some divine intervention, or by his own choice, separated from the fate that he shared with his fellow earthlings. Watch him struggle in his new world. Watch him grow. Watch him learn. Watch him walk a path oustside what destiny has for him. FYI: The magic concept in this story is high fantasy with involvement of polytheistic religions and demons. There will be a mix of GameLit style writing mixed with traditional magic novel style writing. The plot developement will be slow in the first volume, as I will focus on world building and character building. The main character will not be OP immediately and will develop into one in his own way over time. This series is built less like modern Japanese, Korean, and Chinese webnovels and more like the old school fanstasy novels like DND and Forgotten Realms.
