《One Last Fight》Abort Mission! Kiki Has Found Us!

When we left the club, Bo insisted on stopping by the store. She insisted on getting stuff for our so-called slumber party tonight with Miles. What she really means is, I am going to bake as much as I can to take my mind off of everything that happened. Not only did meeting with Luke shake her up due to everything she learned, but he fucking kissed her.
I know she thought everything ended the second he walked out of my doors, but I wasn't finished with that kid. He thought Bo delivered a hard right hook. I guess I will have to show him who she learned it from. That will be the last time he ever comes in contact with her. I'll make sure of it.
Instead of driving us around in my truck, I told her we could take her car. I didn't want to be crammed in my three-seater. I have no problem with Bo sitting next to me, but I don't like being able to stretch out. It makes me feel trapped.
Her laughter filled the small SUV as we drove down the street. She was turned in the passenger seat, crisscrossed as she fought against the seatbelt wrapped around her chest. Miles was doing what he could to distract her. So far, he has her falling into a fit of laughter with the horrible jokes he found on the internet.
I should have known taking these two to the store together was a bad idea. I figured they would be somewhat manageable, but the second Bo grabbed a cart, Miles told her to hold on. I watched as he encased her with his arms while he pushed them through the store.
"Zoom, zoom, best friend!" Bo cheered as she threw her fist into the air.
There were people watching them, waiting to say something as they zoomed past. I almost wanted them too. My girl was happy. Her little body wouldn't sit still as she let out belts of laughter. My heart almost stopped when Miles turned, and the half of the cart came off of the ground, but the dimples on Bo's face gave me a boost.
Sometimes Bo didn't give a shit. There were moments like this when she didn't care who was watching her. Being around me and our group of friends did that for her. Around us, she knew she didn't have to worry. I don't know why she never attempted to stick up for herself. She has a kindness that you have to push really hard to get her to explode, but the girl is more than capable of protecting herself.

Now I am searching every aisle, trying to find out where her fits of giggles were coming from. Every time I felt like I was getting closer, they moved further away. That was until I realized they were trailing me the whole time, hiding so I couldn't find them.
"Hey!" I laughed. "Get back here!"
"Abort mission!" Bo cried out. "Abort mission! Kiki has found us!"
I jogged down the aisle as I chased them. Miles could fucking run, and Bo definitely wasn't going to ask him to slow down. This was a cat and mouse game. It just so happens that these mice are too fucking clever for a cat like me. When they turned harshly into the aisle on their right, I knew they found the baking supplies.
All my years of cardio never trained me for this shit.
I panted as I reached them. Bo casually threw her supplies into the cart as I stood behind her, unable to catch my breath. Miles was patting my back, trying to help me out, but his forceful smacks were as if he was trying to get his ass kicked in the middle of the store.
My hand shoved him away, pushing him toward the shelving beside him. Bo turned around scolding us as if she wasn't just running through the store like a madwoman. She insisted on buying Halloween movies, even though it was summer. I didn't stop her.
On the way home, she kept shrieking as she looked back into the grocery store bag, and saw the movies we bought. She purchased Halloweentown and several Michael Meyers movies. She also told us we were going to watch all of them. It made me laugh because Bo won't last ten minutes - she will be passed out before anything happens.
"Ten dollars says I can beat you inside," she turned to Miles as we pulled in front of the house.
He threw his door open. "Deal!"
"Cheater!" She screeched.
The plastic bags smacked her thighs are she ran toward the stairs. Her little hands reached out, shoving him to the side as she cleared the four steps of our porch. Suddenly, the Bo I knew went from a prosecutor to a track star. I came in behind them as Miles was handing Bo money from his wallet.

"You don't deserve this," he held the money above her head. "You cheated!"
"You cheated first."
"If you can reach this, I will give it to you."
"I can do whatever I want to take it?"
He nodded. "Try your best."
She immediately reached out, hitting him in the stomach. He folded over at the same time I did. My laughter was the only thing I could hear echoing through the house as I watched her snatch the money from his hand. Her dimpled smile came closer to me as she put out her hand for me to high five.
I caught her hand before pulling her lips to mine. "That's my girl."
Miles slid in next to me as I sat down on the couch. I could hear Bo rustling around in the kitchen as I turned on the television. He rubbed his stomach as he recovered from the jab he received earlier.
"She is definitely your girl," he let out a breathy laugh. "I am going to guess you are the one who taught her how to do that, right?"
"Of course," I nodded.
"So, she got your last name and fighting skills?"
A smile tugged at my lips. "Pretty fucking lucky, aren't I?"
He smacked my thigh. "Yeah, you are."
"How are you doing?"
I watched his face frown. "It sucks, you know."
"Bo didn't mean anything by it," I reminded him. "She wouldn't hurt you on purpose."
"I know that," he sighed. "I can't believe Chrissy would hurt her like that, though. How could you do someone like that wrong?"
"I don't know."
"What are you going to do to Luke?"
Every hair on my body raised. "He watched a video and proceeded to do nothing to help her. I don't fucking know what I am going to do."
"Whatever you need, I'm here."
"I can't get in trouble."
"I won't let you," he looked at me with honesty. "When have I ever let you go in trouble?"
"I'm not talking police," I chuckled. "I'm talking with my girl."
"Yeah," he started to laugh. "I can't save you from that. You might want to get arrested. At least those bars can save you."
"Did you forget she's got this town in her back pocket? I'm not safe behind bars either."
"Sorry, but with the punch she packs, I can't save you," he joked. "She would whoop my ass."
"I'm fucked if I do, fucked if I don't."
"Make it worth it then."
Bo came in behind us as the house filled with the smell of chocolate chip cookies. She also came in with the bowl she used to mixed the brownies. I watched her slide onto the other side of the sectional. She brought the wooden spoon to her mouth, licking the pre-mixed chocolate.
"Boston Marie," I gasped.
She looked at me mid-lick. "What?"
"Sharing is caring," Miles reminded her.
"I saved cookie dough out there."
"What if I wanted the brownie mix?" I cocked a brow at her.
"This is mine," she pouted.
I slowly started moving toward her. "Let me have some."
"No," she tightened her hold on the bowl. "That would be cross-contamination."
"Is there really cookie dough?" Miles asked as I stood from the couch."
"Yes," she nodded at him as he walked toward the kitchen.
I placed my hands on either side of her legs, leaning down to where she sat. "Just give me a little bit."
She dipped her finger in, gathering it before lifting it to my mouth. "Is this enough?"
My eyes met hers as I lapped my lips around her finger. I dragged my tongue along her digit, loving the way she squirmed. She immediately pulled her finger from my mouth as I sent her a wink.
"We have a guest over."
I shrugged. "And his room will be four down from ours."
She bit her lip. "Wasn't earlier enough?"
"I can never get enough of you."
