《Obon Festival [Genos x Reader]》第三章

"Oi! Over here!" You heard someone yell. Your eyes naturally followed the source of the shout. It was Saitama. He was wearing a traditional, tan yukata and gave you a friendly wave. You saw King, Silver Fang, and Genos were also in tradition Japanese festival wear. Once Genos saw you his breath hitched. You were so beautiful that he forgot how to breathe. Bang noticed this and gave Genos a hard smack on the back and chuckled. Saitama, like usual, was completely obvious to it all.
"Everyone looks so different in festival wear." You noted. You and Genos's eyes met, you then remembered what Tatsumaki told you about how Genos would talk about you; "(Name) is so beautiful guys, oh did you know (name) loves to play undertale? (Name) loves that kind of music! Oh that's (Name's) favorite colour! Did you know (name) is really smart and witty I should inform you of the joke he told me last night about the boy with no legs and arms." You quickly turned your head away in fear that Genos would see the blush that started to arise on your face. You could practically feel Tatsumaki and Fabuki roll their eyes.
"You all clean up respectably well" Fabuki commented with a slight smirk. "Well, shall we?" She said nodding towards the entrance of the festival.
You all made your way through the festival crowds. The smell of summer and fried foods filled your nostrils and you started to relax more, letting an easy smile form on your face. Genos noticed this. Little by little he inched closer to you through the group. He was close enough to you now that he could smell your sweet perfume wharf over to him. In inhaled as much as he could when, for a second time, a rough pat on the back brought him back to earth.

"Ahhh you like the smell of mitarashi dango too, Genos? It is my favorite festival food." Saitama dreamily remarked with drool coming out of his mouth. You had started to move on, for your attention was now on a large group of cheering people carrying a mikoshi through the crowds of people.
"Um, yes Sensei." Genos mumbled defalted, his attention elsewhere. Trying to keep his eyes on you in case you got lost in the sea of people. Saitama finally took notice to Genos's strange behavior. Normally Genos was very focused. A little...too focused. However now seeing that his crime fighting partner in such a trance made Saitama almost concerned. Saitama followed Genos's gaze and saw what he was staring at. It was you. You were admiring how many fish Bang had caught from a booth game. You laughed as one of the fish jumped out and landed on Tatsumaki's head.
A mischievous smile crept onto the bald man's face. He (lightly) elbowed the love-struck teenager and curtly said-
"You know Genos, that's not a very respectful way to treat your sensei. A teacher should have their pupil's full attention whenever they speak to them."
This got Genos's attention. He quickly bowed, causing a bit of a scene as onlookers stopped and stared.
"Please forgive me sensei! I should have been paying more attention!" He yelled, still bowing.
"It's alright. I will forgive you and stop bowing will ya? But, I can only forgive you on one condition." Genos's teacher replied.
"Anything, Sensei!" Genos pleaded. Saitama was pleased the plan that was forming in his head. The two started walking again, back to the group.
"You like (y/n). Don't you." Saitama said bluntly.
Genos held his breath and his chest tightened. The Cyborg knew his Sensei was smart but how could he have known about his crush on (y/n)? He thought was doing well at hiding it. But ever since you moved in with Genos and Saitama, Genos now had another motive to be as strong as his Sensei- to keep you safe no matter what. It was true. He could love after all.

And Genos's silence said it all.
Saitama gave the flustered Cyborg a grin.
"Look. I might now have much experience with girls but we're at the Obon Festival. This is the perfect opportunity to make your feelings known to her! It could be during the fireworks, or after we visit the temples, or pull her off to the side right now and tell her how you feel! Girl's like prizes, yeah? Win her a prize or something!"
Genos was moved that his Sensei would offer such helpful advice to him.
"Actually, Genos, know that I mention it-" Saitama muttered, eyeing one of the food booths. There was a sign at that read-
"Guess how many grains of rice are in this jar and win a year's supply of free udon noodles!"
Saitama gave a polite "ahem" and nodded his head towards the sign for Genos. Genos instantly started calculating the volume of the jar and the size of each grain.
A cubby man wearing an apron and banzai headband leaned over table. "You young men want to try to guess how much rice we've got here in this jar?" He said confidently, motioning to the container of rice on the table as he held a red bowl of fresh udon noodles in his left hand.
"1,567" Genos said matter-of-factly. The cubby man's eyes widened in disbelief. He was in such shock that the bowl fell from his hands but Saitama swiftly snatched caught it before it hit the ground.
The udon chef regained his composure. "I'm not entirely sure how you did that son but...congrats!" He chuckled whole heartily scratching the back of his head. The chef handed a pair of chopsticks to Saitama and a card to Genos that was for the year supply of free udon noodles.
Genos and Saitama walked away and went further into the heart of the festival. They spotted the group, and you, giving thanks to the shrines of their ancestors.
You felt someone watching you when you turned around and saw your roommates. You waved enthusiastically with a huge smile on your face. As if you could even get any more gorgeous looking, you did. Genos right then and there made a promise to himself that we would do everything he could get make you smile as much as possible. He loved it. He loved you.
Saitama happily slurped his noodles. "Genos-" he said, mouth full of noodles.
"Yes, Master?"
"Now it's time to win the ultimate prize. Her heart." Saitama said, trying to sound a lot more dramatic and wise then what he really was. Nonetheless, Genos was filled with determination.
"Thank you sensei. I will."
