Reader's POV
You decided this was the best day ever. You were having so much fun and enjoying everything with your new group of misfit friends that you felt a ball of emotions well up inside your chest. You caught sight of Genos from afar and you couldn't help but give him the biggest, brightest, and happiest smile imaginable. As you got closer to him you noticed how the light from the hanging lanterns made him look so inviting and warm. A blush covered your cheeks.
You were so focused on his face that while moving through the group of festival go-ers, your geta (wooden sandal) suddenly caught uneven pavement which sent you flying into the air. You had no time to brace yourself because you were restricted by your yukata. You were going to trip face-first into the ground right in front of your crush and if the impact didn't kill you, the embarrassment would.
A second before impact and you felt the rush of wind of a fast moving object. Something strong grabbed around the small of your waist and the base of your head. You opened your eyes and your entire vision was taken up by bright warm lights. You recognized who's chest it was, your heart skipped a beat and you gasped. You were being held in the Demon Cyborg's arms. Months of imagining Genos holding you intimately just like this, you never quite expected him to be so...gentle.
Your heart was pounding so hard inside your chest that even if he couldn't detect your heartbeat you knew it was shaking both of you since he held you so close to him.
Your (e/c) eyes met his met. Genos noted on how the different shades of (e/c) in your iris. He was mesmerized. He had never allowed himself to get this close to you. He wanted to get even closer...

"Oi Genos, I knew (y/n) was falling for you but I didn't think it was literal." Saitama said, amused with his own joke. Both of your faces had a deep blush as Genos put you right side up. You noticed laughing and turned to see the entire Hero Association group was present to see this. Bang was patting Saitama on the back for his joke. Everyone else was laughing, but you noticed that Tatsumaki smile was more of a smirk and her eyes had a certain mischievous gleam to them.
Your eyes widened when you realized what she had done. You nonverbally asked her "DID YOU MAKE ME TRIP?" as you pointed to where the uneven pavement used to be, which was now perfectly even.
The s-class heroine put a hand on her chest, trying to look innocent, "Who? Me?" her eyes said. Her eyebrows raised and her eyes now seemed to say "You're welcome".
You sighed and smiled. Rolling your eyes, your body language said "Thanks, I guess."
Genos didn't catch what was going on and that your trip wasn't an accident. You were grateful for that.
"Thanks for saving me, Genos." You spoke softly, tucking a stray strand of hair behind your ears.
"As an S-class hero I should have been faster to catch you, I guess I was..-" Genos paused for a moment, looking at you "-distracted." He finished with a sly smile.
You could practically feel the steam coming out of your ears. "CUTE! CUTE! CUTE! CUTE!" You kept screaming inside your brain.
"Yeah" you breathed. The group started to migrate further into the heart of the festival and your stupid heart wouldn't stop beating so fast.
You slowed your pace down so you could walk with Fubuki and her sister.

"You guys, if I die of a heart attack you can blame Genos." You cry. The green esper huffed and said-
"I make you fall into Geno's arms and all you can do is think about dying. Idiot!"
"Technically you tripped her, sister. Don't do that again, (y/n) is a friend. If Genos wasn't faster she would be in the festival's first aid tent." Fubuki said disapprovingly. "If you will excuse me, I'm going to go walk with Saitama."
You remembered that Fubuki crushed a little bit on the B-Class hero. You wished her luck even though he seemed completely engrossed on his udon. You took note that the blonde cyborg wasn't with his master. Everyone else was present in the group. Where was Genos? You looked for a mop of spiky blonde hair when you felt a warm breath run across the nape of your neck.
Genos. You thought with butterflies in your stomach.
Before you could even turn around you felt something prodding into your lower back.
"Keep walking." An unfamiliar, deep sternly commanded you. You gulped and you started to feel your heart beat even fast, and not for the right reasons. Some stranger was guiding you away from your friends and into the sidelines behind the booths' tents. Panic overtook your thoughts. Even though you were with a group of literal super heroes, they were all to preoccupied with the actives and events to see what danger you were in.

In this chaos, as the world begins to unravel in foul ways, something else stirs. Something else found its way through. Author's Note: I will update this story as often as I can. I am quite busy and write this during breaks at work. This is one of those goon-squad stories with a million characters, so "dizzying" might be a good way to describe the energy. Much of what builds up to the first arc happens in the first ten chapters, which are quite long. For that reason, if you have difficulty getting through the story, I understand, though things don't really start happening until Chapter 8-10.
