《Kyrie is Crying》Trial

Kyrie was placed in a circle with five other people. Five other suspects he had to debate against. Whoever lost was the one to be punished.
"Kyrie, isn't it true you left a note for Brianna asking her to meet you in the alley?" Zeke was looking as smug as ever. Kyrie knew Zeke hated him, but was still taken off guard by how quickly the trial kicked off.
"Yes it's true I wrote her a note, but I never asked to meet in the alley!" Kyrie stared Zeke in the eyes determined. "I asked to meet behind the cafeteria, but she never showed up. I waited for an hour or so."
"And what's your proof that you're not lying. That you really did write for her to meet you at the cafeteria? You expect us to just take your word for it?" Zeke didn't like having to do this to Kyrie, but he had to survive. He didn't want to be accidentally chosen as the culprit.
"My alibi is the score board on the arcade machines. If any of you never played the arcade games then you wouldn't know this, but it logs your name next to what time you started playing to what time you stopped playing. Next to my name it says 10:00 to 11:30."
"Who's to say she didn't show up late?" Zeke was determined to prove Kyrie as the culprit. Even if his argument didn't make sense. "Maybe there was a secret message somewhere asking to meet after 11:30?"
"There's nothing on my note that says there's a secret message on it. So even if there was a secret message, she would be completely unaware of this."
Chun jumped into the debate between the two older boys, ending it by sharing his thought. "Do you think it's possible someone else knew about the note and they forged a new one to lure her to a new area?"

"That's a good point, Chun!" A petite girl named lily praised him. The poor girl was clearly very young. She didn't deserve to be in a murder trial.
"But there's only one other person who knew I was going to write the note..." Kyrie trailed off. "...and that was Sefton."
There was a long pause. No one knew what to do or say. Was the crime really solved that easily? Kyrie was about to speak up to state that maybe, just maybe, there was some other explanation but before he could he was interrupted.
"Wow I guess I'm caught red handed huh?" Sefton began to laugh. Kyrie's ears couldn't believe what they just heard. He looked over to Chun and saw the younger's eyes focused on Sefton. His face showed nothing but heartbreak and betrayal.
"Sefton, what are you doing?" Chun nervously laughed, his voice was shaking. "What are you saying right now? You didn't kill Bri. You wouldn't ever kill Bri!" He was now practically screaming. Trying to convince himself that Sefton didn't brutally gut one of their friends.
"Oh shut up. He's already admitted it." Zeke scoffed.
"So it's decided then!" Lord Kieran yelled from behind them all. Everyone turned to look. "I have a fun little punishment for Sefton! That murderous little rat is going to get what he deserves. So don't worry everyone, he deserves what he's going to get. We need to purify his soul." Kieran looked over at Sefton and began to walk over to him. He placed a noose around his neck and began to drag him to the central area.
Kyrie's heart was going crazy. He couldn't lose two people he cared about like this. He couldn't handle any more. But it was already too late. Their fates had been decided.

"Kyrie, I left a note for you, please don't ever forget me!" Sefton cried out, his words were difficult to understand because they came out in gags and coughs.
Then everyone was forced to go to the center and watch Sefton's public execution. He was to be hung, and burned. Kyrie couldn't believe it, he couldn't believe he had to watch this. He felt sick. Sick from heartbreak, and disgust.
"Sefton has been convicted for murder. We could go to the police but here, we don't NEED police." Lord Kieran continued "instead we'll be doing things our way. Let's start the music!" There it was again, the same distorted, fast paced, disturbing music.
Sefton was brought into the air by his neck and set on fire. The screams that followed were horrible. Everyone could hear the sizzling sound coming from his body. Soon servants came in with pitch forks and started to peel some of his skin off as if he was nothing more than a burnt marshmallow. The skin was charred and splattered blood covered the stage.
"In order to purify his soul we must remove the skin he used to commit this horrible crime!" Lord Kieran spoke clearly to the audience, he wasn't fazed by the event taking place at all. "If he doesn't have his skin that was linked to the crime, then that part of him is gone and his sins can be forgiven! So please rejoice!"
The crowd among Kyrie began to laugh and visit each other as if Sefton's screams were just lyrics to the distorted music playing on the speakers.
Kyrie felt a thick cloud of anguish setting on his shoulders. A reminder that things will never be the same. He wanted to run up, to stop what they were doing to Sefton. They continued to peel Sefton's skin with the pitch forks and his screams never seemed to end, until finally it was over.
Everyone was dismissed back to their rooms. When Kyrie got back he saw Bri's body was gone, but Chun was in his bed, he was clutching onto Sefton's white dress shirt. "Please, Kyrie. Please read me his note."
Kyrie saw the note on his dresser and went to read it.
"Dear Kyrie, I'm sorry things went like this. I didn't mean to hurt you or Chun. I love you both more than words can describe but now it's gotta be just you and Chun. I don't belong in this world, I can't feel joy anymore. I need an escape. Bri felt the same way. I didn't kill Bri, the only person I killed is myself. My old pathetic useless self. I killed him through Bri. Now I'm finally free, I'm sorry if I disgust you now. In this envelope is a gift for Chun. Please give it to him. Signed, Sefton."
Tears filled Kyrie's eyes as he finished reading the note. He turned to Chun with the envelope, and placed it in his hands.
