《Kyrie is Crying》A New Face

Kyrie needed a moment to himself. He cared about Chun a lot but he needed some air. Even just a breath would help him cope with Sefton's brutal passing. He could never understand why Sefton did what he did. It's almost like he went insane, but why? Was everything just the same all the time? Is that enough to trigger someone to murder their friend? then a thought crept into his mind. If Sefton wasn't able to kill Bri, would he have killed Chun or him?

Kyrie waited until Chun was completely asleep and gently rolled out of bed. He tiptoed out of the room trying to avoid any squeaky wooden floor boards. He left the building to go to a nearby park. It must have rained earlier because there was a fresh dew smell lingering in the air. The grass was glistening, and the moisturized air stuck onto Kyrie's skin.

He found a damp wooden bench and laid down. Only issue is that he's 5'8" and his legs ended up dropping over the edge, but he didn't mind it. He looked up to the clear night sky, he wondered if Sefton is somewhere up there. Somewhere safe from all of life's troubles.

"It's beautiful isn't it?" A boy in the same white uniform as Kyrie's peers was now beside him. He had a curly white mohawk with black roots that seemed to reach up to the stars themselves. Kyrie recognized him from the trial. "Hi, I'm Kit." The boy smiled at him and reached out a hand.

"I'm Kyrie." Kyrie returned his smile and shook Kit's hand. "What are you doing out right now?"

"I just really like space, you could say I've always got my head in the clouds." He laughed at his own joke. "But I'm out here for a new reason today. The execution that guy faced was pretty brutal. I guess tonight I'm looking for a new star to see if he made it up there." He turned his ice blue eyes to focus on the stars in the sky, trying to spot a new one.

"Can you tell when there's a new one up there?" Kyrie asked, hoping that maybe they could see Sefton.

"Yes it usually shines brighter than the rest. In fact there it is now!" He jumped excited and pointed at the sky. Kyrie squinted looking up and then spotted a small white dot shining brighter than the rest.

"Sefton..." Kyrie mumbled under his breath.

"Were you two close?" Kit looked over at him questioningly.

"Yes, Sefton, Chun, and I were inseparable." He paused for a moment still focused on the star. "I guess death has a way of separating even the strongest bonds."

"Well I plan on being an astronaut." Kit chuckled, "so when I go to space, I'll visit Sefton's star and let him know you miss him."

Kyrie sat up allowing some room for Kit to sit. Then they sat together that night sharing memories of people they'd lost, and creating a bond that would last longer than the universe itself.
