《The Recycled Alpha (Book 1) ✔》Chapter 11

Ryan's P.O.V
2 weeks later and the gym was finished. We got delayed because of rain for a week straight and then we had to wait for the ground to dry.
I sighed, stretching my muscles before lifting the weight.
15 arm curls later and I was onto deadlifting. My legs started to burn.
I needed to start working out more often
The door opened and a cold breeze drafted in just as I dropped the bar.
Dominic strolled in, not realizing I was there.
"In the night, I hear them talk the coldest story ever told...", he sang.
I giggled and Dominic screamed like a girl and jumped up.
"Ryan.", he said, holding his chest. "I didn't realize that you were in here."
"I know.", I said while smirking.
Dominic dropped his stuff onto the bench and made his way to the hand weights.
"I would gather my stuff back up.", I said.
Dominic stopped and looked at me. "Why?"
"Because we're just about to start training. Alpha Queen style. So let's go.", I ordered.
Walking outside, I felt Dominic's presence right next to me.
I just grinned and walked to the back of the packhouse.
Everybody was outside playing around.
"Everyone!", I yelled, effectively capturing their attention. "We start training right now! I know it's a little last minute but we can't have a repeat of two weeks ago!"
Everybody got up without a second thought.
They understood what I meant. Jim had died from his injuries from that damn rogue.
We all mourned and I have an inkling that that is what caused the rain all week.
"We're just doing basic self defense right now. I want you to form a fist. Let your wolf instincts guide you.", I said.
I saw some people get it while others couldn't. Some of the rogues had really strong wolves and they lived in fear of their wolves taking control and hurting someone.

"This is all about your instincts. You must allow your wolf to guide you. Accept your wolf, become one with your wolf.
Your wolf and you must work together as one. You share a mind and heart, therefore you should not be like two different beings.", I informed.
I could tell some of the rogues were having problems doing that, but they were getting there.
They just had to open their minds completely and their wolves would integrate fully.
Once we got the work as one with the wolf, we had everybody doing everything easily.
"See? Now we can move onto harder stuff. I need you to get into partners and then one of you shift.
Once I say so, you and your partner will spar. You will have to defend yourself against the wolf that is attacking you. Those who are shifting, don't get too rough. We're all just beginning.", I commanded.
Everybody got into pairs and one person shifted.
"Spar!", I yelled.
Wolves moved quickly but not too quickly.
I watched Dominic pin the wolf attacking him easily.
Others were able to pin down their partners pretty quickly and others got pinned by the wolves.
I was genuinely surprised as one female rogue was pinned. She punched the wolf in the head even though its jaws were wrapped around her throat.
The female gave a few more punches and the wolf backed off, pawing at the ground slightly.
Without a moment's hesitation, she tackled the wolf and shoved his face into the dirt.
"Alright guys. I notice that some of you already have decent or pretty good fighting skills.
I'm putting you into 2 different groups. Dominic will train the people who already have some fighting skills and I will train those who need more help than the others.
I'll be coming around and telling you which group you'll be in. Warriors to the right and Trainees to the left."

I walked to the first man and looked him up and down.
"Warrior."
Moving on. A small lanky female who needed some work.
"Trainee."
I did this with 125 rogues. We were split about half and half at the moment.
"The left side, please come with me. The right side, listen to whatever Dominic tells you.", I commanded while walking away with my trainees.
...
"Good Dina. You're getting better. Remember though: Swing with your hips but don't put all your weight into it.", I said.
Dina nodded and walked away, sitting on the benches in the gym.
I clapped my hands and everybody else sat down, wiping the sweat off of their faces.
"That was impressive. The majority of you are learning quickly and soon you will be in Dominic's group.
For now, I recommend shifting regularly and going for runs around the packhouse. It'll build muscle on not just your wolf form but also your human form. Hit this gym up on days we don't train.
You all are dismissed.", I said, smiling and walking out behind them.
"Can we take a run? I really need to get out.", Blake said.
"Sure.", I replied.
I shifted, shredding my clothes and giving Blake control.
I watched from our eyes as she took off and I smiled as she goofed around.
"Only a few more months of living like this. Soon, we'll be an actual pack.", I said.
Blake laid down next to the pond, looking into the water.
"The best part is that we won't have to see Micheal. Becoming a pack has nothing to do with him until the first United Pack Meeting.", Blake sighed.
"I want to speed up the process somehow.", I commented. "Losing Jim a couple weeks ago was terrible. If we become a pack, we'll have the proper supplies to protect everyone."
Blake looked into the distance. "We can talk to the rogues about it. See if they would like to train the majority of the day to speed it all up. Even if they are too weak by the end of the day, as long as they know the moves they'll be fine."
I thought about it. She was right.
"I'm always right.", Blake snorted.
"Don't get too cocky wolf. Let's head back so we can talk to the rogues about it. I want to become a pack in less than a month. I think they can handle learning the majority of it by then. Don't you?", I asked.
"I think they can do it. They're determined.", Blake replied before closing our link and taking off.
She handed control back to me and I shifted, walking into the packhouse naked.
"How would you guys like to start training during the majority of the day so we can talk to the Council by the end of the month? We could have you all taught the majority of fighting by then and then I can go take my Beta, Gamma, and Delta over to the Council with me and talk to them.", I said.
Everybody nodded eagerly and I smiled.
"Then it's settled. We start tomorrow at 6Am and end at 3PM with a breakfast break and lunch break."
The rogues cheered and hugged each other.
Just the thought of becoming a pack excited them.
Technically, I could go kill an Alpha, take their pack, induct the rogues into it, and then be done with it all.
But we're doing this the right way.

Vast Asleep
The story of Kingard the Binder in the aftermath of Broken This short story is the epilogue of Broken, the second book of the Chronicles of Mother's Gate series. It’s a great follow-up to the novel, a bonus story that adds extra layers but is set apart from the full-length narrative. Vast Asleep follows the story of Kingard, who finds himself caught in a world called Mother's realm, bathed in glowing light but strangely stuck in place. He encounters his greatson Varyan there, and learns that his experiences are likely dreams. As he grows more accustomed to the loving realm around him, Kingard remembers fear and trepidation about the face of the world, and he loses contact with his companion. This story answers the question, Is Kingard really dead? with a tentative no, and new mysteries brewing. It also raises the question, What's happening while he's awake? and includes an excerpt from the sister story Ride Awake, about Kingard's situation with the Colkh'rak. Praise for Tales of the Known World Bookends: Loved it. The difference between the two stories is great! The difference between the epilogue and prologue is astounding. So much light and love in the first story. You feel safe reading it. Healing. The second, so much darkness, pain and despair. The choice of vocabulary is awesome and makes an impact. And this set of short stories ties the two books together so well. -- Dana V. of Texas ★★★★★
