《Fragile Minds ━━ C. DANVERS ✓》three.

Even as she sat beside Fayre Harlow in their latest mission, her attention was grabbed by a spirit that stood in the corner of the room. A woman dressed in a white dress, drenched from head to toe and water dripped from the ends of her hair and to the ground. Poppy didn't know what it was, or when the woman had died, but she knew that she had drowned – such a morbid death for a woman that didn't look that old, but she couldn't vouch for her. She couldn't say anything to defend her with how she died, and she couldn't accuse anyone of their murder.
The woman pressed her lips together as she stared at the ghost in front of her and there were so many things that went through her mind as she stared at the ghost. She didn't care about the meeting that she was attending, and she knew that no one would've noticed her staring off into nothing. They were used to her doing so, knowing exactly who she was and what had happened to her. They knew everything that had happened to Poppy and what she had did for Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S, which was why they allowed her to work for them. They believed that if they had given her a high-profile job, that she would've spilled information about what it was that they did, what it was that her boss had told her on the day that the explosion happened – the accident.
But that wasn't the type of person that Poppy was, she knew that Lawson would've wanted her to keep her work a secret – and that was what Poppy was going to do. Poppy was going to be a good soldier and keep her alliance obvious, she would still work for S.H.I.E.L.D, but she wouldn't give them the information that they wanted, knowing that she would've been betraying everything that Lawson had done. Everything that she had worked so hard for.

She lifted her eyes again as she stared at the ghost, but then she found that the woman wasn't there, but she was beside her. She stood right beside her and Poppy could feel the ghost breathing against her. Poppy tried not to move and she tried not to show her that she was afraid of her, or anything else. But she knew that the woman was going to do the same thing that the other ghosts had done before, and there was a message that the ghost wanted to get through to her, and she wasn't going to hesitate to do it.
"Help me," The ghost spoke to her in an eerie voice, but Poppy didn't answer her. The ghost tilted her head to the side as she reached for her again and nudged her with her hand. "Please... I know that you can hear me, and I know that you can see me. Please, just help me." But, again, Poppy didn't do anything to give in. She didn't feed the ghost's desire for attention, because Poppy knew that once she stared responding to them, they wouldn't leave her alone. "Please!" The ghost howled once more. "I just need help!"
And, as they always had before, the ghost disappeared.
Poppy knew that it was cruel of her to ignore the ghosts that made their way through the nothingness of their world, but she couldn't help all of them. She didn't even know how she was supposed to help any of them as they made their way to her and begged her for assistance. If Poppy knew what it was that she was supposed to do, or how she was supposed to help them – she would. She wouldn't have hesitated to help them, knowing that she would've been making a difference in their supernatural existence, but she wasn't that type of person. She barely understood the powers that she had gotten from the accident, and she didn't even know if there was someone that she could've asked for help.

There were so many variables with everything that had happened to her, and she knew that she was going to have to figure it all out sooner, rather than later. But how was she going to figure out how to help herself, when she didn't even know what she was doing in the first place? She knew that she could ask Fayre for some sort of help, but how was she going to even start that conversation? How was she going to explain to the woman about what it was that was going on when she didn't understand it? Poppy and Fayre's powers were so incredibly different, that there was no way that Fayre would've known how to help her.
Suddenly, Poppy could feel another hand over her own and she jumped slightly. That was when Poppy realized that the meeting was over, and the only two left in the room were Fayre and herself. The other woman stared at Poppy for a few seconds, wondering what it was that had been going on. But it only took her a few seconds to realize what it was that was going on in her mind.
"Another one?" Fayre questioned her, and all Poppy could find herself doing was nodding her head in response. A sigh left Fayre's mind as she shook her head slightly, before standing up and offering Poppy a small smile. "Come on, let's go to my lab. There has to be something that I can do to help."

(A/N)I discovered that I can post fanfictions on this site so I decided to post the Familiar of Zero fanfic I made. Walking home from a friends house after watching the FoZ anime, our hero suddenly finds himself in a familiar summoning situation... only something interferes and he gets a few new advantages. Now, follow along as he breaks the show, builds a harem, and builds an empire all the while doing humorous, badass, and other Gary Stu stuff. Contains elements from both the anime and manga. Also yes, the MC is a bit OP, but it's okay because it's funny.
