There had been countless times that she had been in the lab and there were so many things that had been done. Poppy knew that there was so much that needed to be done in order to figure out what was wrong with her and how they were going to get the voices of the ghosts out of her mind. But with all of the tests that they had done, there was no way for them to figure out how to free her mind from the ghosts, they had a hold on her and they weren't ever going to leave her alone.
But Fayre was determined to help her friend and she wanted to do whatever it was that she could in order to help her. She knew what it was like to be in the same situation that Poppy was in, and she had been that way for a long time. Fayre had been the woman that everyone looked at and everyone was concerned for her. Everyone wanted to figure out how it was that she had gained her powers, and they would've done whatever it was that Fayre had done to herself. But she didn't really feel like exploding her lab again in order for someone to get powers like she had, even though they would most likely die in the process.
Fayre held onto her tools as she stood in front of the other woman and she grabbed onto Poppy's arm and began to draw blood. Her eyes flickered up to Poppy and she pressed her legs together as she stared at her. Poppy looked down at her arm as the other woman was drawing her blood out of her arm, and she knew that Fayre was going to go through as many tests with the blood in order to figure out what it was that she could've done to help her.

Poppy pressed her lips together as Fayre placed a piece of cotton against the wound and brought the vials over to the rack and put them there. By the time she glanced back over to the other woman, neither of them knew what to say to each other, because it was so difficult to figure out what was the right thing to say. The two of them had gone through so much together and Poppy knew that she had to accept what would've happened with her results.
"I'm going to do my best to figure out what I can do to help you," Fayre explained to her, and Poppy nodded her head. She pressed her lips together as she stared at her for a few seconds before she met her eyes again. "I know that we've done so many tests to figure out what was going on with your blood and what the energy source had done to you, but we're going to find out what to do."
"Even if we don't find a way to save me from my own powers, I'll be fine. It doesn't matter if we can't figure it out, because I've survived this long with them that I feel like I can survive with them for the rest of my life," Poppy explained to her and she reached for Fayre's hands and took them in her own and she gave her friend a reassuring smile. "I'm strong, I can get through anything that is thrown at me."
The two of them stared at each other for a few seconds, before Poppy stood up and dismissed herself from the lab. Fayre wanted to say something to her, to reassure her about what was going on around her, but she didn't have the chance. Poppy was already out of the lab and making her way down the corridor. She could hear various voices echoing off of the walls as she walked through them, and she didn't know what it was that was going on.

She was able to ignore the voices of the ghosts as she made her way down the halls, and as she continued to push herself down further and further down the hall. She could hear them talking about a Blockbuster and a woman falling through the roof as she fell through. Poppy didn't know what it was about it that threw her off, but then she heard the voices of Nick Fury and Phil Coulson and she furrowed her brows together.
Poppy knew that she hadn't been placed on the mission that they were about to go on and she clenched her jaw as she glanced over them. She rushed toward the end of the hall and her eyes landed on Nick Fury and she reached out and grabbed onto his arm, pulling him close to her.
"Nick, what the hell is going on?" Poppy questioned him and Nick let out a sigh as he stared at her.
"We got a call about a woman falling through the roof of a blockbuster wearing some strange alien uniform," Nick began to explain to her and she stared at him for a few seconds, before shaking her head.
"I'm coming with you," Poppy said to him as she nodded her head, and before Nick could even say anything to stop her from tagging along, she was in front of him holding onto the keys that he had in his hand.
Nick stared at her for a few seconds, before he let out a heavy sigh as he followed after her. He knew that he wasn't going to be able to change her mind about what it was that she was going to do. Poppy was determined to get herself on their mission, and she was going to do whatever the hell that she could to help them, and she wasn't going to take a no for an answer.

8 153That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Dwarf While Trapped in a Dungeon Full of Spiders
Thousands of years ago, mankind would honor their dead and their journey to the afterlife through the process of mummification. The elaborate tombs and burial rituals marked our transition from hunter-gatherers to civilizations and empires. However, it's been over 500 years since we've sent tributes to the underworld, and now the underworld, or whatever lies beyond, has decided to send something back. Authors Note- This story is inspired by DnD, Dark Souls, Guild Wars 1, and my love of eldritch horror and dark creepy dungeons. Also completed doesn't mean end of the line. There is more Mike Sammons in the future, promise.
