《SEA GREEN MEETS GOLD (N.M. & P.J.)》Chapter 26: Family Above All

Percy sat on one of the coffins, her legs swinging back and forth.

One of Klaus's hybrids spoke. "You have your family back. Finally. You going to open them?"

"Not quite yet." The original replied, his dimples shining through.

The raven haired beauty pouted. "What about Elijah?"

Klaus glanced over at her. "I still have some unfinished business to take care of, love."

He began walking out the doorway and Percy followed. Unfinished business sounded more exciting than sitting on a coffin.

Klaus's minion tried to follow too. "What business?"

The original turned around to respond. Suddenly, the minion groaned out in agony. He fell to the floor and Elijah was revealed.

Yay! Elijah!

The suit loving original dropped the heart of Klaus's hybrid on the ground demonstratively.

Cool.

"Elijah!" Percy exclaimed happily. She was glad to see him again. Klaus, however, looked at his sibling in shock.

The demigod rushed forward and hugged Elijah. His arm with the hand that wasn't dripping with blood, wrapped around her. "Hello, Persephone."

"Hi!" She sent him a grin. The corners of his mouth went up in response. Percy let go of him.

He looked into her eyes. "I would love to catch up with you, but I'm afraid I have matters to attend to with Niklaus."

Haha. Knee-klaus.

Percy nodded with another smile. Elijah turned his attention to his brother. "So, Niklaus. What did I miss?" He stepped closer to Klaus.

-

Elijah pulled out a handkerchief from his pocket. He cleaned the blood off of his hand. "You look surprised to see me." The original noticed. "I guess it wasn't you that removed the dagger from my chest." Elijah looked between the two beings.

"You look like you could do with a drink. And we have a lot to discuss, so shall we?" Klaus spoke as he gestured to the door.

That was a bad attempt at changing the subject.

Elijah smoothly threw the small cloth to the side, before speeding at his sibling. He punched Klaus in the face, and threw him through a glass door that separated the two rooms.

"Danggggg." Percy commented.

The original hybrid pushed himself off the ground. "Easy! I just finished renovating." He growled.

The blond charged at Elijah. Tackling the brown eyed original to the ground, Klaus stood back up. "You know, you have every right to be mad at me, but I kept my word." He held his arms up dramatically. "I reunited you with our family."

Elijah swiftly punched the hybrid with one arm, before swinging again with the other. He sent another blow, that caused Klaus to fly back onto one of the coffins.

They moved very quickly, but the demigod could easily keep track of the fight.

She clapped and cheered. "Woo!"

Klaus threw open the lid to one of the coffins and ripped out a dagger from someone's chest. Elijah sped at his sibling, and Klaus shoved him against a coffin. "Don't make me do this to you again, Elijah!"

Percy approached the two. The fight wasn't as amusing anymore. She didn't want Elijah getting daggered again.

"Come on. Use it. I dare you. You'll have Kol to deal with." The original voiced to Klaus.

The hybrid lowered the dagger back down, but didn't remove his grip from his brother. "Mikael is dead."

"What did you say?" Elijah questioned as he pushed himself off the coffin, causing Klaus to let go of him.

Klaus replied. "I killed him. With his own weapon. He's gone, Elijah, forever."

The original's eyes narrowed. "Why do our family remain in these coffins?" He asked with anger dripping from his voice. "Finn for over 900 years, Kol for over a century."

"Because of Stefan Salvatore. He holds the one thing keeping me from freeing them. There are things that you do not know about our past, Elijah. Our mother's death. Things I never wanted you to know. But I'm ready to tell you now."

Percy suddenly felt like she was intruding on family stuff.

Klaus continued speaking to his brother. "I only ask that you remember the oath of loyalty you once swore to me." The hybrid dipped the dagger into a small glass jar filled with ash. He stepped back over to the coffin that he opened previously.

"What are you doing?" Elijah questioned.

Klaus stuck the dagger back into Kol's chest. Glancing back at Elijah, he uttered, "Always and forever."

The demigod continued watching the scene play on, as she awkwardly stood to the side. She chewed the inside of her lip and looked around the room.

Klaus stepped closer to his brother. "I need you to stand by my side. Be my brother. Help me destroy Stefan, and I promise you, our family will be whole again."

Yay! More siblings to eventually befriend.

He closed the lid of the coffin, leaving Kol daggered.

Dam.

••••••••••••••••••••

Percy laid on the hybrid's bed, trying to take a nap.

Klaus walked in and saw the demigod laying under a pile of blankets. He chuckled in amusement. "What are you doing, love?"

"Napping." She replied simply.

The original smiled in amusement. "In my room?"

"Yeah. Your bed is comfy."

He sat on the edge of the bed. "Hm. Well, you'll have to get up soon, love."

The demigod repositioned herself so that she was facing him. Looking at him with her best puppy dog eyes and pouting, she asked, "Why?"

Klaus felt a pull in his heart. He'd give her the whole world if he could.

"Don't look at me like that, love." He spoke softly.

Percy brought her face closer to his and teasingly fluttered her eyelashes, making her look even more adorable. "Why not?" She asked with a playful grin.

Klaus sighed. "It's impossible to say no to you."

"Does that mean we can nap now?" Percy questioned as she cuddled back into the blankets.

The hybrid raised an eyebrow in amusement. "We?"

She nodded her head. "Yes. You are on the bed. We are now one with the bed. The bed is us. We are the bed."

Klaus laughed. "I have no idea what you just said, love."

The raven haired beauty just sent him a smile.

He laid down next to her. The pair faced each other, as they laid on their sides. Percy closed her eyes.

For a moment, Klaus considered canceling dinner with the Salvatores.

"Love?"

"Mm?"

He gently brushed his fingers against her hand that was peaking out from one of the blankets. "Elijah and I arranged a meeting with the Salvatores."

She opened her eyes to look at him, her eyebrows raising. The corners of her mouth rose up as she asked, "Is 'meeting' code for 'killing?'"

The original chuckled. A devilish smile was painted across his features. "Only if it comes to that."

The sea green eyed girl regarded him with amusement. "Hm."

"And you're going." He said with a smirk.

Percy saw one of his dimples on his cheek. A smile of her own appeared on her lips at the sight. "What if I don't want to?" She retorted as she playfully poked his dimple.

Klaus had a knowing look in his eye. "There will be food."

The demigod's smiled widened. "You should've led with that."

Klaus stood near the table, leaning on the back of a chair.

Elijah walked towards the front door as a knock was heard. He opened it, to see Percy.

The green eyed demigod smiled at the original, which he returned.

"Niklaus, the lovely Persephone has arrived." He announced. "Please, come in."

Percy entered the house. Looking at the hybrid, she spoke smugly. "Did you hear that? I'm lovely."

The blond original, however, was immediately entranced by her beauty. Her raven hair cascaded down her shoulders and her bright eyes were captivating. The light from the ceiling illuminated her features in a way that made her absolutely ethereal.

Another knock was heard from the other side of the door. The sound brought the hybrid out of his trance. Elijah, once again went to answer it. The original spoke again. "Our other guests have arrived." He stepped to the side, allowing the Salvatore brothers to enter the room.

"Damon. Stefan. Elijah tells me you seek an audience. Very bold." Klaus spoke.

The two brothers glanced at Percy warily as the hybrid continued. "Let's discuss the terms of our agreement, like civilized men- and woman-" He glanced at Percy. "Shall we?"

The demigod raised her hand with an adorable smile. "I don't like being civilized though."

The corner of Elijah's lips rose at her statement. "It's better to indulge him."

Percy snorted. "Where's the fun in that?"

Klaus tried to narrow his eyes at her, but it seemed he couldn't even pretend to be annoyed with her. She could wash away any anger without even trying.

The demigod began walking towards the table, thoughts of food running through her mind.

Stefan looked back and forth between Klaus and Percy. "I didn't, uh, come here to eat, Klaus." The hybrid sported a devilish smirk as the vampire continued. "In fact, I didn't want to come here at all, but I was told I had to, 'cause you would hear us out."

"Stop being a baby, and sit down, Stefano." The demigod said from her chair.

Klaus chuckled. "Yes. We can sit and eat or I can reach down your throats and pull out your insides." He sat down in the chair next to the raven haired beauty. "Your choice."

Damon gulped slightly and glanced at his brother.

Such a difficult decision to make.

One of the compelled humans in the room poured wine into the glasses at the table, when everyone was seated.

Percy, however, had a glass of sprite.

The demigod happily ate the gourmet food.

Klaus looked at her fondly, before directing his attention to Stefan. "You lost your appetite."

The Salvatore shook his head.

Damon spoke. "Eat. I thought we agreed that we would leave the Grumpy Stefan at home."

"I think the grumpiness has attached itself to him." The sea green eyed being commented.

Stefan sent her a fake smile. He picked up his utensils and started cutting the steak on the plate.

Klaus smirked. "That's the spirit. Isn't this nice? The five of us dining together. Such a treat." The hybrid was enjoying the Salvatores' silent pain of dining with him. "Is this what you had in mind when you pulled the dagger out of my brother?"

Percy continued eating the steak on her plate. The food was amazing.

"Well, I know what he felt about you," Damon replied. "So I figured, the more, the merrier."

The blond original responded. "Well, Elijah and I have had our share of quarrels over the centuries, but we always make it through."

The demigod's leg started bouncing under the table. She often had the urge to move around, with her ADHD. But, she stopped herself from pacing around the room, as she didn't want to abandon her food.

"Kind of like, uh, you and Rebekah, right?" Stefan questioned. "Where is she, by the way? Last I checked, she was still daggered because you were too afraid to face her."

Klaus looked at the vampire. "If you're referring to the fact that Rebekah knows I killed our mother, I've already come clean to Elijah." He glanced back at his brother.

Damon spoke to his own sibling. "Hey, Stef. Remember when you killed dad? Might want to dial down the judgment till dessert."

Percy sipped her soda. Spill the tea.

"We're here to make a deal, Damon. Doesn't mean we need to kiss his ass for seven courses." He responded.

The raven haired beauty looked at the hybrid. "There's seven courses?" She asked in excitement.

Klaus smiled in amusement, but shook his head.

Dang.

Damon continued talking to his sibling. "I'm just saying, we have a long evening ahead of us. Pace yourself."

Elijah started the conversation, "Stefan, where is the lovely Elena tonight?"

The Salvatore scowled, "I don't know, ask Damon."

The hybrid and demigod locked eyes as they both laughed at the statement. Elijah turned to Percy with a curious look, as if asking with his eyes, 'what did I miss.'

Percy grinned playfully in response, sending a wink in his direction, "Trouble in paradise."

Elijah's eyes held a look of amusement and slight confusion. The youngest Salvatore cut off their bonding, "One more word about Elena and this dinner is over."

A devilish smirk graced the hybrid's face as he placed a finger against his lips. Percy looked at Klaus with an amused smile.

Damon shook his head at the pair, before directing a fake smile at the Mikaelsons. "You know what, it's probably best to just keep Elena in the do-not-discuss pile."

Percy chewed on a big piece of steak, enjoying the tasty food.

Klaus nodded in agreement, "You're probably right."

The original continued, "It's just the allure of the Petrova doppelgänger is still so strong." He glanced at Elijah, before asking, "What do you say brother? Should we tell them about Tatia?"

The noble one responded, "Now, why should we discuss matters long since resolved?"

"Well, given their shared affection for both Elena and Katerina, I think our guests might be curious to learn about the originator of the Petrova line." Klaus stated as he cut the steak on his plate.

Ew. A romance story. Nasty.

Damon sipped his wine, "Well, we're not going anywhere, Elijah. Please, do tell."

Percy groaned internally at his words. She had heard enough about doppelgängers. To her displeasure, Elijah obliged the Salvatore.

"When our family first settled here, there was a girl named Tatia. She was an exquisite beauty. Every boy of age desired to be her suitor, even though she had a child by another man. And none loved her more than Niklaus."

Percy's jaw clenched. She didn't know why she suddenly felt bitter.

She cut a piece of the food on her plate, before bringing it up to her mouth. The demigod disregarded her thoughts, and told herself it was only because she didn't want to hear cliché romance stories.

Klaus, who hadn't noticed the sea green eyed girl's demeanor, expressed disagreement with his brother's statement. "I'd say there was one who loved her at least as much."

The brooding vampire spoke up, "Wait a minute. So, you both loved the same girl?"

Percy looked a bit amused. "Oooo drama. Who'd she choose?" The raven haired girl suddenly felt interested in the conversation. She sipped her drink as she waited to hear the gossip.

Elijah smirked in amusement at the demigod's words, but continued telling the story. "Our mother was a very powerful witch. She sought to end our feud over Tatia, and so she took her."

Took her? Being dramatic must run in the family.

"Niklaus and I would later learn that it was Tatia's blood that we consumed in the wine on the night where our mother performed the spell which turned us into vampires. Tatia wouldn't make a decision between the two of us, so for a time Niklaus and I," the original paused, "grew estranged. Harsh words were traded, we even came to blows, didn't we, brother?"

The hybrid looked at his sibling, "But in the end, we realized the sacred bond of family."

The older original lifted his glass in the air, "Family above all."

The hybrid responded by raising his glass too and uttered the words back, "Family above all."

Percy respected the words the two brothers shared. She always valued loyalty, it is after all, her fatal flaw.

Elijah redirected the topic, "So, why don't we move this meeting along and discuss the terms of this proposal."

The blue eyed Salvatore nodded in response, "That's very simple. Klaus gets his coffin back, in exchange, he and the original extended family leave Mystic Falls forever. Me, Stefan, and Elena live happily ever after. No grudges."

There is no way Klaus would agree that easily.

"The deal sounds fair brother," Elijah reasoned.

The hybrid, however, looked unimpressed. "I don't think you understand. Elena's doppelgänger blood ensures that I will always have more hybrids to fight those that oppose me. I will never leave her behind."

Klaus rose from his seat and began to pace. "Let's say I do leave her here, under your protection, what then?" The blonde spoke clearly, making sure his words would aggravate the bunny muncher and leather-jacket-wearing vampire.

Continuing his mini rant, Klaus spoke, "How long before one of you turns her into a vampire? Or worse, how long before she dies caught between your feuding? You see, each one of you truly believes that you're the one that can protect her, and that is simply a delusion."

When Klaus paused for a moment, Percy knew his next statement was going to be harsh and, of course, dramatic.

She was correct in her assumption when the original gave his final remark, "Gentlemen, the worst thing for Elena Gilbert is...the two of you."

Damon forced a weak smile, before announcing to the group, "I'm gonna get some air." The Salvatore left the room.

The suit-loving original immediately followed suit. "Let me deal with this."

Percy, who didn't feel like talking with either of the two at the table, pulled out her phone. The girl opened Apollo's contact and sent him a text.

While waiting for a response, Stefan voiced his thoughts to the Original Hybrid. "Well, I guess the only reason you agreed to this evening, Klaus, is to drive a wedge between me and my brother."

Percy saw the three small dots appear on the screen, letting her know the god was responding. She tried to ignore the conversation happening next to her.

A- Heyyy what are you up to?

P- I'm bored at some lame dinner party. What about you?

A- Haha! Have fun. I'm creating beautiful poetry.

P- Don't laugh at my pain! And don't you dare send me any poems. I'll block your number

A- But, then how will you be blessed with my presence? You would be utterly lost without me.

"Oh no, you're doing that well enough on your own. Because of Elena, you're gonna lose your brother and you'll only have yourself to blame."

Elijah and Damon returned from outside, causing Percy to stop texting. Damon stepped forward. "What do you say, Klaus? It's time for you to put something on the table. We've made our offer, now you counter."

The hybrid responded, "Okay, I offer Elena's future happiness. You see, what she needs right now is to be rid of you lot. And to fall in love with a human. Maybe that nice football player, you know, the blond one?"

"Matt Donovan? Really?" Damon questioned, irritation evident in his voice.

Percy sent another text to Apollo.

P- Oooo everyone is back to arguing again.

A- About anything interesting?

P- There's four dudes fighting over a girl.

The boys continued to discuss the future of Elena Gilbert.

A- Is the said girl you?

P- Nope. You honestly think I could have four guys arguing about me?

A- Probably. Trouble always finds you, Perce.

Percy realized he had a point. She looked up from her screen and heard Stefan speak. "Nice try, Klaus, but no deal."

The hybrid broke the vampire's arm before proceeding to break his leg as well. Klaus pushed Stefan's hand into the fireplace, causing him to burn. Damon tried to intervene but Elijah pushed him against the wall.
