《SEA GREEN MEETS GOLD (N.M. & P.J.)》Chapter 4: Go Big or Go Home

The three arrived at Alaric's apartment. The history teacher unlocked the door and opened it.
He leaned against the wall, crossing his arms.
"Look who's dumb enough to come back." Katherine commented.
Alaric replied, "Well, somebody had to invite him in."
He turned his head to the side. "Damon. Would you like to, uh, come in?"
Percy waved at the doppelgänger. The vampire simply sent her a small smile.
Damon entered the apartment. Katherine spoke up, "Are you trying to get me killed?"
The Salvatore slammed her against the wall. "I gave you vervain. Now I'm here to collect. I got it from here, guys."
"Are you sure?" Percy and Ric responded at the same time. Then, they gave each other suspicious glances.
Damon responded, "Yeah, only one of us needs to get blamed for this. Get back in the house. Keep Elena from handing herself over."
The demigod nodded, "Okay, but text me when you get the location."
Damon nodded and kept his eyes on Katherine.
Percy and Alaric left the apartment. When they reached the Salvatore Boarding house, they discovered Elena was no where to be found.
The demigod received a text from Damon, informing her that Tyler and Caroline were in the tombs.
Percy walked through the woods, trying to find the kidnapped teenagers. She voyaged farther into the mass of trees, until she sensed a presence nearby. Spinning around, Percy spotted a tall man with short hair five feet away from her.
"Which one are you trying to save? The blonde, or the werewolf?" The man questioned her.
Percy replied, "Both. Go big or go home, right?"
The guy didn't seem impressed. "Did you really think Klaus would leave them unprotected?"
"I don't see any protection," the demigod said sassily.
The guy glared at her. A moment later, the demigod was sent flying backwards. Magic.
He walked towards her.
Wrong move.
The demigod rushed forward and kicked him into a tree. The witch groaned. He looked like he was about to use magic on her again. Before he could, however, she tackled him to the ground.
When the two collided with the ground, a loud snap could be heard. The witch raised his hands and she went flying back again.
"Is that all you got?" She challenged.
Something sped by her and attacked the witch. The green eyed girl, recognized the figure as Damon.
Percy pushed herself off the ground, only to feel a sharp pain in her ankle. She looked down and realized she might have fractured it.
"Schist," she cursed.
Her eyes shot back up at the sound of a gunshot. Percy saw Matt standing there with a weapon and the witch on the ground.
Damon sped forward and snapped the witch's neck for good measure.
The raven haired beauty greeted the human. "Hey Matty."

The older Salvatore's eyebrows furrowed. "What are you doing here?"
"Where's Caroline?" The boy asked, wanting to save his girlfriend.
Damon sighed, "Listen man-"
Percy cut him off, "She's in the tomb!"
The blue eyed vampire narrowed his eyes at her. "Really?"
While Damon wasn't looking, Matt raised his gun at him. "What did you do to her?
Damon raised his hands up in defense. "I'm just here to rescue her. Okay?"
Matt didn't know if he was telling the truth. Before he could decide, Damon quickly knocked him out.
"Ouch. Why'd you do that?" Percy questioned.
Damon responded, "He was going to shoot me!"
The demigod rolled her eyes. "Excuses, excuses."
She started walking towards the tombs, not letting her injury stop her from saving the two supernatural creatures.
Walking further in, she found the vampire and werewolf.
"Percy!" Caroline exclaimed relieved at the sight of her.
Percy sent her a smile. "We're rescuing you."
"We?" Caroline looked confused.
Damon walked in, "Your boyfriend's outside with a rifle loaded with wooden bullets."
"Good for him." Percy grinned. "I thought he didn't know about vamps."
Damon bent down in front of Caroline to help her get out of the chains. "You have some explaining to do."
Percy, meanwhile, was attempting to break Tyler's chains. They didn't budge the first try. Then, the demigod focused her strength on the metal and it snapped.
Caroline looked confused. "Matt?"
Tyler rubbed his wrists, "Matt knows about you?"
"No! I-"
Damon interrupted, "Shh. Tomorrow's problem. Let me just get you out of here."
The blue eyed vampire remembered Tyler. "It's getting dark soon. How fast can you get the hell away from here?"
The Lockwood responded, "I need to get to my family's cellar. I can lock myself up."
"I'll help," Caroline offered.
The four walked outside. The full moon had already risen.
Matt groaned on the ground. The blonde vampire rushed to help him. "Hey! Did you hit him?" Caroline asked Damon.
"Did you already forget the part about a gun with the wooden bullets?"
Suddenly, Tyler dropped to the ground. He looked up at the sky, his breathing uneven. Caroline called his name out worriedly, "Tyler?"
He pushed himself off the floor. "It's starting."
Uh oh.
Damon sighed, "Grab Boy Wonder and let's go."
Caroline followed, saying a soft "Come on," to her boyfriend.
Matt looked concerned for his friend as they rushed through the forest. "What's happening? Is he okay?"
Damon spoke, "You better not wolf out on us." His cell phone rings. Picking up the device, he responded, "Bad time, Little Bro."
He continued, "Saving the day. I figured you'd understand. Just tell Elena to stay put."
Stefan must have said something upsetting because Damon reacted loudly. "What?"

Percy wished she could hear what was happening. She witnessed Damon scrunch his face up, looking emotional. "I'll take care of it," he declared.
The Salvatore brought the phone away from his ear. "What happened?" The demigod asked gently.
Damon didn't look up, "Klaus took Elena."
Before Percy could speak, Tyler groaned loudly. His body started changing from the full moon.
"Tyler!" Matt called out, concerned for the well-being of his friend.
He jerked up in a painful position. "Oh God!"
He collapsed on the ground again. "I don't know if I can hold it off. Get out of here."
In an attempt to comfort him, the blonde vampire stepped forward. "Tyler, it'll be okay."
"Go!" He yelled.
"We've got time. We're almost there, just-"
Tyler stopped her, "It's happening faster."
"Tyler, it's okay." She stepped forward again and Percy moved in front of her, blocking her path. Werewolf bites were fatal to vampires. So, Percy felt it was better for her to be attacked than Caroline.
It was a good thing she did, because Tyler rushed forward. Percy planted herself on the ground.
When Tyler rushed forward, the raven haired girl did a high kick. The force sent the werewolf back.
It didn't stop him for long. He tried it again, but Damon tackled him. When they landed on the ground, Damon tried to keep the werewolf away from him.
Percy ran forward and shoved the Lockwood off of the vampire.
Caroline noticed that the werewolf bit Damon before Percy pushed him off. "Damon..."
"I'm fine." He snapped.
Tyler tried to hold the beast inside of him from escaping. "Get out of here!"
"We could go to the Lockwood cellar. If it could hold him, it should keep him out," Percy suggested.
The Salvatore nodded, "If it doesn't... use these." He handed Matt the wooden bullets he picked up earlier. "It'll buy you a couple seconds." When they hesitated to move, Damon encouraged them, "Move. Go. Go!"
Percy, Matt, and Caroline ran towards the cellar. Damon sped off to find Klaus.
Caroline led the way since she knew where it was located. "Come on, down here."
They jogged down the stone steps, hearing growls from above.
Caroline shut the door and moved farther into the cellar. "Is that going to hold?" Matt questioned
"No," she replied.
They rushed into a cell with metal bars. "Help me with the gate! Help me with the gate!"
Percy assisted the vampire in tying chains around the bars to stop Tyler from entering.
A large wolf appeared with gold eyes. "Tyler?"
Percy held the chains tight so they wouldn't budge.
"It's me. It's Caroline." The blonde spoke in an attempt to soothe him. "Tyler?"
The wolf pounced at them.
Caroline held onto the chains with the demigod.
Matt tried to move forward, "Let me help!"
"Get back! We got it." Percy told him.
Tyler's snout fit between the metal bars as he made animalistic sounds. He ran at the door. The whole wall shook from the force of it.
Percy let go of the chains with one hand. "Hold on!" She told the vampire.
Reaching into her pocket, she pulled out Riptide. She unleashed the sword, careful not to hit Caroline with it.
"Where did you get a sword?" Matt asked, baffled at the demigod in front of him.
"Narnia." Percy responded shortly.
Matt's eyebrows furrowed. He wasn't sure what was real anymore.
The wolf sped at the bars again. "Caroline, the door's not going to hold."
"Come on!" He shouted.
Caroline pleaded, "Tyler, please."
A gunshot was heard as Matt raised his gun.
"Matt! No, hey. No! It's Tyler!"
Matt yelled back defensively, "He's trying to kill us!"
"Wait!" Percy yelled. "He stopped."
Caroline looked worried, "He's wounded." She began undoing the chains.
"Caroline, stay back." He warned the vampire.
"We can go around him." Percy suggested.
Matt looked at her like she was crazy, "Are you nuts?"
Caroline unraveled the metal links. "You're not going to shoot him again, okay? Ok."
The door to the cell opened. Percy stepped out, and did a trick with her sword. "Go. I'll watch your backs."
Caroline looked back at Matt. "Matt, take my hand."
The boy kept his weapon pointed at the wolf. "I got it."
"Matt, take my hand." The Forbes girl insisted.
He lowered his hand and placed in hers. She sent a nod back to Percy, and sped out.
The demigod glanced at the wolf one last time, before making her way up to the Lockwood household.
She made her way to the door. It opened and Caroline let her in.
A few moments later, the vampire heard movement from outside. She peered out the door to see Tyler. He was back in his human form, lying on the porch.
The blonde looked back at Matt, "Give me your jacket."
"What?"
"Give me your jacket," she repeated.
Matt took his jacket off, without letting go of his gun.
Caroline went outside and placed the jacket over Tyler. He turned around. "Caroline?"
She glanced back at Percy and Matt.
Caroline returned her gaze to the werewolf.
"It's okay," she said softly.
Percy finally pocketed her sword. "I'm gonna go. Try not to die while I'm gone." She gave a peace sign and walked out the door.
Tyler was no longer a threat, so the demigod was going to look for Elena.
"Thanks, Percy." Caroline called out.
The raven haired girl sent her a smile, before she turned on her heel and entered the woods.

What happens when someone without a will to live finally gains freedom along with an absurd amount of potential? Will he pursue strength in a world that values nothing but power, or will he decide to live a quiet and normal life for the first time? This is a story of a man with a system (yes, I know, very original), cursed with the faith of a protagonist. Whether he will follow the road of humiliating swarms of ignorant young masters asking for a beating, or carelessly pick up love interests from all corners of the world is yet to be seen. This story features many different realms and power systems, so if you enjoy novels with massive worlds and endless exploration, this is for you. Although it has a system, it is more of a manifestation of his own power and mysterious origin, not some gift from God.This is my first novel, and I am not a native English speaker, so the grammar won’t be perfect, but I hope you enjoy it nonetheless.
