《Our Eternity : Emmett Cullen x Reader》The Meadow

I tried calling Jake the next day only to get Billy Black. I grew more and more concerned as more day's passed by. I had left several voicemails for him on his cell.
"Jake, your dad says you have mono. He won't let me visit, but would you call me?"
I could feel myself becoming depressed once again. It's only been a week. Being ignored hurt. It reminded me of the day he left. He couldn't even look at me... I knew my sister and Dad were becoming concerned about me again.
"Hey. It's me... Again... I just... I'm sorry about what I said at the theater. I just wanted to hear your voice, so no pressure."
"Jacob, please... Call me." I left the last voicemail and hung up my phone. I threw my head into my arm's that were crossed laying at the kitchen table. Bella sat next to me rubbing my back.
"Okay. We should be back around three." Dad said packing up his fishing gear, with Harry Clearwater. He saw me laying my head on the table and sighed. He walked over and placed a hand against my back, making me look up at him. "Hey, look, I don't have to go fishing today." He said quietly to me trying to cheer me up.
"Yes, you do." Harry cut in gruffly, but a smile graced his face. He was a little older than Charlie but one of his very best friends.
"Yeah, you do. Go." I gave him a weak smile.
"Just be careful." Bella added with a smile grabbing my hand. He looked at us and smiled seeing that we were together and I'd be fine.
"Always am." He grinned.
"Those bears won't get the drop on me, girl's. My Kung Fu is strong." Harry joked, making us both laugh.
Dad and Harry left the house and we sat there at the table for a minute.
"Maybe we should go see him?" Bella suggested, breaking the silence.
"He clearly doesn't want to see me, Bells. He's ignoring me. Pretty sure that's a tell tale sign. I mean, I know I kinda rejected him, but I don't even know what I did." I groaned and leaned back in my chair, covering my face with my hand's.
"No. You're not doing this to yourself. You're a bright, beautiful woman, who deserves an explanation. If he's really sick then fine, you get your answer. If not you find out what's going on. Either way you can't let this destroy you okay? I won't let that happen to you again." She looked at me like a loving mother to her child. I shook my head and stood up.
"Fine. I do deserve an explanation... this time." I mumble.
It was pouring outside, so we climbed into the truck and drove off towards La Push. I would have taken the Bike, seeing that Dad reluctantly let me keep it. But the weather was just not good for it.
We pulled into the driveway and Bella glanced at me uneasily. Jacob, who was supposedly 'sick' was up walking around in the rain, in nothing but a pair of short's and sneaker's. He was shirtless and to top it all off, he had cut his long dark brown hair and got a tattoo. I could sense Bella's anger when she noticed the tattoo. We both knew exactly what that meant.
"I'll wait here. And I'll step in if you need me." Bella assured me. I nodded climbing out of the truck.

Jacob didn't even stop as we pulled in. Just continued to walk away without even looking at me.
"Jake!" I shouted. I was already soaked to the bone the moment I stepped out of the truck. He stopped in his track's and turned around reluctantly. "Hey!" I called out again as I got closer and we stood about 4 feet from each other. "You cut your hair off?" Was the first thing out of my mouth. He gave me a seriously look and I continued. "And a tattoo?"
Thunder rumbled all around us.
"(Y/n)." Was all he replied.
"I thought you were too sick to come outside!" I shouted over the rain angrily. "Or to pick up the phone when I call. You're supposed to be my best friend!"
"Go away." He said gruffly. He seemed different some how. I couldn't put my finger on it. I felt my heart break at those two word's.
"W-what?" I stumbled slightly and looked at him sadly.
No, no. This can't be happening. Not again. I will fight harder this time.
"Go. Away." He annunciated.
"What happened to you?" I growled angrily. He rolled his eyes and tried to walk away from me. "What's wrong?... Hey!" I ran forward and grabbed his arm turning his attention back to me. He shrugged off my touch. "What happened?" I demanded. He still didn't answer me. Just stood there looking at me. "Did Sam get to you? Is that whats's happening?" I suggested the idea and Jacob scoffed.
"No, Sam's trying to help me. Don't blame him." He retorted bitterly.
"Really? Then who am I supposed to blame?" I quip back. I heard Bella's door close to the truck.
"If you want somebody to blame, how about those filthy bloodsucker's you love so much? The Cullen's." He snapped at me angrily.
I took a faltering step backward's and ended up in Bella's chest and arm's. He knew somehow and the mention of the name was still to painful. He had sent a jab straight into my chest.
"You don't know what your talking about." Bella said angrily holding my arm's tightly.
"You both know exactly what I'm talking about." He glared at her for a moment before looking back into my eyes. "You've been lying to everyone. Charlie." He pointed out angrily. "But you can't lie to me, not anymore, (Y/n)."
"Jacob! Jacob!" Sam's voice called out emerging from the edge of the forest along with three other boy's. Jacob glanced back at them then back at me and his face finally had some emotion other than angry and he looked sad.
"Look... (Y/n), we can't be friends anymore." He said softly with so much pain in his voice.
"What?!" Bella yelled angrily.
"Jacob... I-I know I've h-hurt you. It kill's me. It kill's me. I just n-needed some t-time..." I chattered through my teeth.
"Don't." He said quickly taking a small step forward. I did the same getting out of Bella's grip. "It's not you." His face had completely gone soft, pained. I watched his hand lift, to reach out for me like he always has, but he quickly pulled it back.
"It's n-not you, i-it's me, really?" I asked sarcastically.
"It's true. It is me. I'm not... good." He said sadly. I could hardly tell what is rain and what is tears at this point, but I knew I was crying. "I used to be. A good kid. Not anymore." His face went almost emotionless again. "This doesn't even matter, all right? This is over."

"You can't break up with me... I mean... I need you, you're my best friend. You promised me." I choked out through my tears. I could feel my knees growing weak beneath me. The whole thing was like a flash of deja vu right before my eyes. I couldn't believe this was happening to me again.
"I know." He breathed. I knew he could see the pain written across my face. And it showed in his eyes for a moment again. "I promised I wouldn't hurt you, (Y/n). And this is me keeping that promise."
That was it. He did it the exact same way, when those words left his mouth. I felt Bella's arm's wrap around me desperately trying to hold me up as my knees collapsed. I sobbed against her unable to hold back any longer.
"Take her home. And don't come back. Or you'll both get hurt." Jacob growled at Bella. I could hear his footsteps run away towards the edge of the forest.
Bella dragged me along toward's the truck. Getting me up into the passenger side, throwing the seatbelt over me. She climbed into the drivers seat and drove us home. I cried the entire night unable to hold onto any of my emotions I had been bottling since the moment he left me... Bella stayed in my room that night comforting me the best she could. She grabbed her computer and I knew she was writing to Alice again even though we knew it wouldn't send. My heartbreak, reminding her much of her own was hard for her to bare.
The next morning she told me how she wanted to go find this field she and Edward used to go too. It was a meadow far off into the wood's. Of course, Dad had made us promise to stay out of the wood's earlier that day, but since when do either of us listen? She was there for me so I agreed to go with her to her spot. It reminded me much of my own area. I knew I couldn't bring myself there. I didn't think I could face it. But maybe, just maybe after today I'd visit it. Maybe I could somehow get closure from it... What else did I have to lose?
"It's a really long hike, specially when you don't have super speed." Bella mumbled as we jumped out of the truck.
"It's fine." I reassured her and we walked off into the woods.
For a while it seemed like maybe we had gotten lost. Since neither of us have a very good general sense of direction. But after 2 hours we made it to an open clearing in the wood's. She had described it once before as a beautiful meadow filled with soft green grass, load's of flowers, and really peaceful. But the place before us was empty, dead, no sign of life any where. Kind of like us...
"Wow." We both breathed.
Bella looked around sadly before collapsing to her knees onto the ground. She felt the dead grass between her finger's. I walked over and placed a supportive hand on her shoulder. She groaned slightly in agony and I heard her sniffle. She stood up quickly and wiped away a simple tear from her face.
"Bella, (Y/n)." A familiar bone chilling voice sounded out from behind us. Making us both stiffen and turn to see the face of someone we never thought we'd see again.
Laurent.
"Laurent." We both breathed out. Suddenly he was much closer than being across the field. Bella and I grabbed each other's hand's instinctively.
"I didn't expect to find you here." He said with a sly smile. He walked a bit closer. "I went to visit Cullen's, but their house is empty." He circled around us as he spoke. "I'm surprised they left you two behind. Aren't you soft of, um.. pets of theirs?" He chuckled lightly. Bella's and my eye's never leaving him.
"Yeah, you could say that." I said and cringed at his choice for words.
"Do the Cullen's visit often?" He asked curiously tilting his head at us. I felt Bella stiffen and gasp suddenly, for some reason. She stepped in front of me slightly with her arm across my stomach.
"Yeah, Absolutely, all the time." She lied weakly.
"We can tell them that you stopped by." I voiced understanding what she doing. Lying to save our skins.
"I probably shouldn't tell... Edward." She choked out. "He's pretty protective." Her weak voice giving us a way.
"But he's far away, isn't he?" Laurent smirked. Bella shrank back a bit, but held her protective pose, half covering me.
"Why are you here?" I asked trying to take the focus off her thought's of Edward.
"I came as a... favor. To Victoria." He explained softly. Both Bella and I froze at his words. "She asked me to see if you two were still under the protection of the Cullen's. Victoria feel's it's only fair to kill Edward and Emmett's mates, given they killed her's. An eye for an eye you see." He explained. I squeezed Bella's hand hard at the sound of Emmett's name.
"Edward and Emmett would know who did it. They'd come after you." Bella made out trying to sound braver than she felt.
"I don't think they will. After all, how much could you have meant to them if they left you both here unprotected." He taunted and then sighed. "Victoria won't be happy about my killing you. But I can't help myself. You're both so mouth watering."
"Please don't. I mean, you helped us." I was able to find my words once again, but they were shaky with fear.
Laurent was suddenly in front of us. He stroked my cheek and Bella's.
"Shh, no, no, no, shh, shh. Don't be afraid. I'm doing you a kindness." He tried to reassure us in a sick way. "Victoria plans on killing you slowly. Painfully. Whereas I'll make it quick. I promise." He whispered slowly in our ear's. "You will feel nothing." He retreated backward's slightly taking up a hunting pose preparing to strike us.
"I Love You, Edward." Bella said as she let go of the breath she was holding.
"I Love You, Emmett." I did the same needing to be free to speak his name one last time before my untimely death that we'd no doubt never come back from. We braced for impact, of whatever may come next. When a branch cracked from behind us. We all turned our attention to see a giant wolf emerge from the trees.
"I don't believe it." Laurent breathed out.
The giant Jet Black wolf emerged and snarled viciously. It puffed up it's chest and stood even bigger in that way. More intimidating. Bella and I watched in horror realizing these are the things our dad is hunting. Several more large wolves came out of the trees, snarling in our direction. But all of their eyes were fixed upon one person. Laurent.
He made a speedy break for it as the big black wolf snapped at him. They all began to chase him, all the wolves following after, but one lagged behind for just a single moment.
It walked right in front of us. A big russet colored wolf with all to familiar soft brown eyes. I couldn't figure it out no matter how hard I wracked my brain. The wolf suddenly snarled in the direction of the vampire and took off after it. The large Black wolf yelped as he was thrown away before quickly recovering and they all headed off again.
"Come on, we've got to go." I shouted terrified. Bella nodded furiously and we booked it down the mountain. As soon as we reached the bottom we jumped into the truck and went speeding home, as fast as the truck would carry us.
As soon as we got there we jumped out and made our way inside. Dad and Harry were back and we had to tell them what we saw.
"Dad, we saw them!" Bella shouted as we rounded our way into the kitchen. Both Harry and our Father look at us alarmed.
"What's the matter?" Harry questioned.
"In the woods! They are NOT bears." I informed them in a hurry.
"What do you mean, in the woods? (Y/n), what the hell were you two doing out in the woods?" Dad groaned.
"They're wolves. I mean, they're like, huge wolves." Bella tried to explain.
"Are you sure about that, Bella?" Harry looked at us with a face of concern.
"Yes, we just saw them. They were after... something..." I backed her up, trying not to tell them what they were really after. Harry cleared his throat and I looked at him. He looked physically uncomfortable.
"Wolves?" Dad asked with disbelief. "You saw em'?" He looked between us. Both of us nodded and that seemed to be enough for him. "All right. Well... Harry? Feel like going hunting? Get some of your guy's together?"
"Sure, yeah, I'll just..." Harry said in response walking out of the room to make a phone call. I watched him suspiciously as he left the room. He was definitely hiding something.
Bella and I went upstairs to her room.
"Those wolves are already dead." She pointed out as we sat on her bed. "Laurent will have told her we are unprotected." A tad bit of fear laced in her voice.
"Victoria... I know. I was thinking the same thing. What are we going to do?" I breathed shakily.
"I don't know..." Bella shook her head.
