《Our Eternity : Emmett Cullen x Reader》Fish Fry

Later that day after school. We began our drive back to my house. Allowing me to ask more questions that I'd come up with.
"So, does a person have to be dying to become a vampire?" I asked.
"Nah, that's just Carlisle. He'd never do this to someone who had another choice." Emmett drummed his finger's on the steering wheel.
"Okay. So, tell me how you ended up like this."
"Well, thats quite the story." Emmett quickly and suddenly whipped the car off down a dirt path and kept driving. "I was born in 1915. Henry, Rosalie's husband. He's my biological brother. Almost two years older than me. In 1935, I was about 2 month's shy of turning 20 years old. Henry and I went on a family hunting trip. The two of us paired up together and headed out. We'd been tracking a bear for a while and we thought we were close." He chuckled. "Turns out we were, but the bear was actually behind us. It attacked the both of us, leaving us both badly wounded, and an inch from death. Carlisle and Rosalie, were out hunting near by. The smell of our blood led them right to us."
"So, then what happened?"
"Well, Rosalie begged for Carlisle to save Henry. Henry of course, being the stubborn headed man he was. Told them he'd only accept help if they saved me first. I of course, was way worse off then he was. Because I had been trying to protect my brother. Carlisle tried to just care for my wounds, but he was failing. Henry begged him to do whatever he had to do. So Carlisle made a choice. He bit me and made me like this." Emmett explained.
I sat quietly for a moment as curiosity got the best of me.
"What was that like?" I asked him quietly. Emmett placed a hand on mine, intertwining our fingers.
"Oh, it was excruciating." He laughed. "Carlisle and Rosalie took us both back to the place they were staying and he had given me morphine when he tried fix me so I was okay up until the venom burned it off."
I cringed slightly at the thought and he chuckled while rubbing his thumb over my hand.
"So did Rosalie change Henry?" I asked.
"No. She wanted too. But, she was worried she wouldn't have enough restraint to do it. So Carlisle did it. You've really got to have some crazy amount of restraint to pull it off. To pull away from human blood."
"So, it's not just a simple bite then?"
"No." He shook his head and grinned at me. "Such curiosity. Why you want to be a vamp too?" Emmett asked and laughed.
"No, no, just trying to get to know you better. I don't really know if I'd be able to do it." I said quietly.
"I'm okay with human (Y/n), you know. But can't say I wouldn't be curious to see what kind of vampire you'd turn out to be." He smirked.

"That's good. 'Cause I like humany, (Y/n) too. Though, i'm sure I'd probably be a badass vampire." I laughed. He nodded in agreement and the silence happened again, which was calm and quiet. "Hey, so Emmett? Was it other vampires that killed Waylon?" I asked him quietly.
"Yeah." He said softly. "I'm sorry about your loss by the way. I know he was a good family friend." He brought my hand up to his mouth and kissed it. "But, yeah. There are others out there, and we run into them from time to time. We have some family in Denali, who are like us. But a lot of vampires don't like to live off our style. They don't really get us." Emmett shrugged.
Friday, Bella and I had decided to drive to school together in order to catch up. We've been spending so much time with Emmett and Edward, that we hadn't seen each other much. It was nice to fill each other in about what had been going with us both. Talk about the information both of us had been given by both boy's. It's especially nice that I can talk to Bella about this kind of stuff, considering its all a big secret and we can't tell anyone else.
After school, Bella wanted to wash the truck so I agreed to help her. We scrubbed her down and made her all nice and pretty. I used the hose and sprayed Bella. She yelped and took the bucket of soapy water, dipping the sponge in it and threw it at me. We were currently in the middle of our water war, when a sudden pair of arms wrapped around my waist and pinned my arms to my side.
"Get her, Bella! I got her! Go, go, go!" Emmett shouted happily. I squealed and attempted to squirm out of his grasp. Obviously that was of no use.
"You traitor!" I shouted with a laugh.
"Take this!" Bella walked over and dumped the bucket of water over my head, soaking me head to toe, along with getting some of Emmett in the process. "That's for the hose, (Y/n/n)!" Bella laughed happily and put the bucket on the edge of the truck bed. "Thanks for the help, Emmett." Bella smirked.
He saluted her and released his grip on me. Suddenly, Edward appeared on the roof of the truck with a loud thud, making Bella jump. She looked up and saw it was only him, breathing out a large sigh of relief.
"Jesus. Could you act human?" Bella chuckled. "I mean, we've got neighbors."
Emmett turned me around and handed me a towel, I glared at him and took it from his hand's.
"So, you're both coming over tomorrow." Emmett smirked.
"I am?" I looked at him with a raised eyebrow.
"Wait like with your family?" Bella looked between both the guy's. Edward smirked and easily pulled out a dent that had been on the truck bed. "Thanks." She said in awe.

"Yeah." Edward shrugged and nodded with a smile.
"What if they don't like me?" Bella asked quietly looking to Edward.
"So, you're worried not because you'll be in a house full of vampires, but because you think they won't approve of you?" Edward asked her with an amused smile on his face.
"I'm glad I amuse you." She scoffed.
"Actually, she's got a point. I mean I've met more of you than Bella has. But what about the rest of you?" I looked between them.
"They'll love you, babe." Emmett pulled me into his arm's and was about to kiss me before he stiffened up. He and Edward both turn their heads towards the road.
"What is it?" Bella questioned.
"Complication." Edward sighed. "We will pick you up tomorrow." Edward quickly makes his way back over to his car. Emmett quickly kissed my cheek and left with Edward.
"Well, that was..."
"Weird." Bella finished for me.
A familiar green Chevrolet pulled into the driveway. Jacob jumped out from the passenger seat and opened the bed to get Billy's wheelchair.
"Hey, come to visit your truck?" Bella joked from next to me.
"Heh, looks good. See you got that dent out." Jacob grinned. He turned and looked at me. I watched his smile grow more and then he started to laugh. "What on earth happened to you?"
"I was ambushed." I glared at my sister.
"Actually we came to visit your flat-screen. First Mariners game of the season." Billy said proudly, holding a large brown paper bag. "Plus..." A large smirk came across his face. "Jacob here keeps bugging me about coming to see you again." Billy teased looking at me. Making Jacob and I both blush.
"Great, Dad. Thanks." Jacob whispered sarcastically to his father.
"Just keeping it real, son."
"Vitamin R." Dad came around Billy's truck holding up two 6 packs of beer.
"Well done, Chief." He held up the brown bag. "Harry Clearwater's homemade fish fry."
"Good man." Dad said. Bella and I chuckled together at their interaction.
Certainly never a dull moment when the Black's are around. Dad started to wheel Billy towards the house.
"Any luck with the Waylon case?" Billy asked, side eyeing Bella and I.
"Well, I don't think it was an animal that killed him." Dad answered him honestly.
"Never thought it was." Billy said a bit too smugly for my liking.
"Spread the word down at the Rez. Keep the kids out of the woods."
"Will do." Dad started to pull him inside up the steps to the house. Billy turned to look at the two of us. "Don't want no one else getting hurt, do we?"
They got the game on the tv and Dad and Billy sat happily in the living room chatting away.
"Hey, can you heat this up?" Dad asked handing me the bag of fish fry without looking away from the tv.
"Sure." I rolled my eyes and headed into the kitchen.
"Want some help?" Jacob asked leaning against the kitchen entryway wall with his arm's crossed.
"I'm not exactly sure it takes two people to heat up food, Jacob." I laughed while preheating the oven. I glanced over to him as he was about to walk away. "But... I could certainly use some company while I wait." He perked up and joined me at the kitchen table.
"So, how's it going? Last time we spoke on the phone you said you were building a car. How's that going?" I asked him curiously, trying to make small talk.
"Slow. Still need parts." He chuckled.
"What was it you told me to keep an eye out for again?" I laughed.
"A master cylinder." He grinned.
"Sure, that. Even though I have no idea what one looks like." I smiled. He laughed, before giving me a once over.
"So I noticed you and Bella had some friends over. Didn't recognize them though. I thought I knew most of the kids around here." Jake pry'd for information and I just nodded. "My Dad seemed to recognize them though." The oven beeped like a savior from Heaven.
"Hey, down there in the bottom cupboard can you grab me a glass dish?" I pointed.
"Sure." Jacob got up and grabbed the dish for me. I poured the fish fry into it and got it into the oven. As I bent over to put it in, Jake stood closer to me.
"So, who were they?" He asked curiously. I could hear the hint of jealousy in his voice. I let out a sigh.
"Edward and Emmett Cullen." I stood up straight and returned to my seat at the table. Jacob sat down and scooted his chair closer to mine. I waited for him to be mad, but to my surprise he laughed.
"Guess that explains it then. No wonder why Dad seemed to be so put off."
"Ha. Yeah." I gave him a fake innocent expression.
"Superstitious old man." Jacob muttered under his breath. I still managed to catch it and couldn't help but let out a snort. He smiled at me. "We've really got to hang out more often. I miss my best friend." Jacob nudged our shoulders together.
"Yeah, we really should. I know we keep saying that, but we will make time for each other." I grinned at him. "I miss my best friend too. A lot actually."
The fish fry finished and we all enjoyed some. When the game ended Jacob and Billy headed home. That night I enjoyed a peaceful sleep. Excited, yet slightly nervous for the coming day.
