I am SO SORRY for the late chapter update this week! I've had so many things going on, I just let it slip from my mind!! Here's the chapter! Again, so sorry for the late update!
_____________________________________________________________________
The next morning, you awoke and found Peridot still sleeping comfortably under the blankets next to you. She had the pillow that was under her head now in her grip and the blankets almost completely over her head. You smiled down at her and gave a small chuckle, moving a strand of hair out of the way of her face.
You shimmied your way out of bed, moving to the end of the bed to get out; you didn't want to risk waking Peridot up by going over her body to get out.
Once you made your way into the kitchen, you took a quick look at your work schedule as you got breakfast ingredients out to make fruit and oatmeal. A small smile wavered on your lips as you saw you had the whole weekend off after today. More time to spend at home with a little green someone.
As the oatmeal was being poured into two separate bowls, you noticed something green out the corner of your eye. You turned your head quickly and smiled to see Peridot rubbing her eyes.
"Good morning Peri! How was your first time sleeping?" You put away the dirty cooking utensils and grabbed the blueberries, strawberries, and bananas. You started chopping as you listened.
"it was.. nice." She spoke softly, but loud enough for you to hear. She made her way over to the table. She was still wearing the big T-shirt you loaned to her. 'She looked so cute in it.' You thought to yourself with a smile. She then spoke once more. "It felt really nice and...relaxing..." She looked up at you then. "Why did I see a movie though?"

Your eyes widened a little at this in confusion. "A movie?"You turned to look at her as you asked the question.
"Yeah, it was like a movie, but not as long...and made less sense.." She rubbed her eye once more and yawned.
You broke out into a big grin as you brought over the bowls of oatmeal with colorful fruit garnishing the tops and set one down in front of her. "Peri, you had a dream!" You said as you stuck a spoon in her bowl.
"A dream?" She repeated. She lifted the spoon gently, gathering a small heap of oatmeal with blueberries and a slice on banana topping it off.
"Yeah." You sat down with your own bowl in front of you and dug in, sticking a spoonful in your mouth, talking through mouthfulls. "It's like a movie that your head makes up when you sleep. They sometimes make sense and sometimes they don't; sometimes they're happy, and sometimes they're scary."
Peridot then stopped paused right before putting the spoon in her mouth, looking surprised. "Scary?"
"Well.. yeah but it's okay, it can never hurt you. If you ever have one, you'll always have me next to you when you wake up." You smiled at her and giggled and you shoveled the last bite into your mouth.
Peridot blushed lightly and smiled, nodding back to you. She then finished up her bowl as well.
"Well, I've got to go to work today. Will you be okay by yourself?" You thought to yourself as you said this. Last time, Peridot got scared because the mail man came by and put the mail through the mail-slot. She hid in your room for the rest of the day.
Peridot stayed quiet for a moment. "Could I... Could I come with you?" She didn't like to be away from you that long nowadays.

You giggled a little at this, but nodded anyway. "I don't mind, but you'll have to stay in the back so that you're not seen by Steven's friends...for whatever reason that is." You muttered, still unaware as to why she hid from them. "You can watch T.V. and see me on my break though." You said the last part with a smile. "You can take the iPad I lent to you as well so that you don't get bored."
And so, you helped Peridot get dressed for disguise, and set out to head to the Big Donut. Once you got there, you waved hello to Sadie and Lars, mentioning to them that Peri would be staying while you're here for your shift.
"That's no problem." Sadie said. "It'll be nice to talk to someone new on my break!" She laughed a little at this and waved once again to you and Peridot as you disappeared to the back.
"If you need me, just poke your head out of those doors and let me know. I'll come to you, okay?" You spoke as you led her to the comfy pile of napkins. You turned the T.V. on for her as well and went to the front quickly, then came back with a chocolate glazed donut, handing it to her. "I'll be back to have lunch in a bit. Have fun." You smiled and kissed her on the gem lightly and went to the door, saying "See you soon!" one last time before you disappear behind the large double doors.
All the while, Peridot holds a small smile, looking down at her donut with a large blush dusting her face. She couldn't wait for lunch time already.
