《Peridot x Human!Reader》Chapter 13 - Sprinkles and Smooches

Lunch time for the two of you didn't seem to come soon enough. Every time you had to go get something or do something in the back of the store, you would always stop to smile or have a small chit chat with Peridot while you worked.
You also noticed that every time you went back there, Peridot quickly turned her attention to you and quickly had a smile on her face.
When lunch finally came, you were grinning so big as you clocked out that you had to let out a little squeal.
You speed walked your way back to Peridot excitably and smiled at her as you went to plop yourself down beside her.
She slowly smiled bigger and bigger. "Is it your 'lunch time' now?" She asked hopefully to you. She fidget in her seat as she wore your jacket around herself, keeping your scent near her.
You smiled and nodded back at her "Yup! I only have a few more hours after my lunch too, so we can head home after that, okay?"
She nodded to you and looked away from you after that. She became quiet as she looked towards the television, but still was secretly focused on you. "So how was your work?"
You shurgged a bit. "It was work. Some guy got mad over sprinkles on his donut." You chuckled to yourself, remembering how silly the situation was.
"Sprinkles?" She repeated.
You nodded to her. "Yeah, its like little candies on the donut." You wiggled your fingers in the air to express it better.
She nodded once more to show she was listening. She seemed to have her mind somewhere else. She pressed her lips together in thought for a bit. You looked in her direction, tilting your head to look at her better.

"You okay, Peri?" You showed concern in your voice.
Peridot twiddled with her fingers between the fabric of your jacket. "I.. I was just thinking about what we had done before.." she spoke quietly. You had to strain to hear her all the way, but you did hear her.
You had to stop and think for a moment to remind yourself about what she was talking about. It then hit you, and you suddenly remembered. "Oh..yeah." You smiled a bit about that. You then gave a small smile towards her. She smiled back.
You slowly reached your hand out to hers, grabbing it lightly and holding it.
She jumped a little but then relaxed soon after. She then leaned onto you a bit, wanting to feel your warmth. You smiled at this, welcoming the slight embrace.
You looked towards the clock for a split second to check your time left. Only four minutes left. You wanted to go ahead and just go home with the green cutie, but you knew you had to stay for the remainder of your time.
You two sat in comfortable silence, leaning into each other, holding each others hands. Two more minutes.
You decided you would do a little something to leave her with before you had to leave. You sat up slightly, startling Peridot for a moment. You then lent down towards her face, planting a soft kiss to her lips.
Peridot's eyes opened wide at first, a very dark hue of blue dusted her cheeks at you let go, and looked at her happily. "I'll see you in an hour, ok?" You said as you gave her one more small kiss on the lips.
"O..Okay.." She said breathlessly.

Fateless: The Silver Lining
It has been ten years of peace for the Union since the end of the great war with the eastern barbarian tribes, yet in the cold north of the Union's land, a new threat is looming. This time, an ambitious Lord is seeking to restore the yore pride of his kin, forcing the weakened Union into yet another unwanted war, as he ramps up the ranks of his army with thieves, murderers and mercenaries.* * *The temperature inside the forge was nearly twice as high as the one outside. A black-haired girl hammered a steel ingot into the shape of a blade. The heat of the steam was draining her stamina away, but her focus remained sharp as her sweat streamed down her face. Hit after hit, for hours, the sound of the hammering steel followed the rhythm of her breathing. Exhausted, she placed the blade into the water and wiped the sweat off her face using a drenched rag. Why are they screaming? Vatra dipped the rag back in the water, twisted it, and approached the window. Her mouth opened as her world shattered again into the living nightmare she had wilfully tried to forget. She bit her lips; it wasn’t a dream. The pulse of her heart rose. A cold sweat prickled her back. A mother was running, and a child was screaming. A torrent of smoke was emerging from the roof of her neighbour. Vatra’s eyes blinked. The mother lay on the ground, a spear through her back. A torch circled in the air and landed on the roof of her workshop. In the distance, a man wearing a banner well known to the world… Fateless is a philosophical medieval dark low fantasy centered on war, militaristic campaigns and geopolitical conflicts between multiple empires. This story follows the fate of Vatra, a former slave from the eastern Nar Empire who was raised in a culture far away from her own, forced into warfare against her will, and the fate of Lanaya, an ambitious half-angel exiled from her home whose existence is seen as heresy. As they wished for peace, both chose a path opposed to one another until their fate crossed. In this story where war dictates the law, love strikes them as a poisoned balm to which they grasp for with all their might, as it is in the darkest of times that the smallest flames may burn the brightest. * * * Tome 1 already completed and available on Amazon: https://www.amazon.ca/Fateless-Silver-Hugo-Emmanuel-Simard-Wallot/dp/B09LGSH1KK Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Hugo-Emmanuel-Simard-Wallot-100547579135891/ I will publish 1 chapter per week (sometimes 2 if the chapters are too short for my liking).

Lear County Outlook
Based on true events in my life. Think of these stories as H P Lovecraft meets Rob Zombie. Each story has pieces, confessions, from the rural decay of Appalachia wrapped in horror and madness. All are set in the fictional county of Lear, which is a dark mirror held up to surface, idealized countryside. Blood and familial ties bind deep in a hopeless and rotted south. Tales are whispered of Hill Witches and Demons. Shunned communities molder. All these truths are hidden in the stories of deceit and lies. The first arc revolves around theft and exploitation at one of the last factories of Lear County. Abuse of power draws all down the path of madness.
