《Peridot x Human!Reader》Chapter 6 - Spaghetti and Pajamas

Peridot seemed to be liking her space that you had recently made for her quite well. She had hardly come out of it sense you had lent her your iPad and some books to keep her occupied.
You checked in on her every so often to see if she needed anything. You knew she didn't eat, as she had said that before, but you still felt the need to offer.
"Peridot, would you at least like to try food?" You said. You wanted to maybe see if she even liked it. "No, i'll be fine, (N)." She didn't even look in your general direction, consumed within her own world which she found to be the great internet.
You set the food down on a nearby bedside table and looked at her. "Hello? Earth to Peridot?" You waved a hand in front of her face.
She finally looked up at you in slight confusion. "What are you talking about (N)? I am obviously on this planet, called Earth, and so are you. What are you trying to say?"
You just giggled a bit at that. "No, i mean pay attention for a minute. Here," You stated, grabbing the plate once more and getting a small bite of the spaghetti on the end of the fork. "Just try a bite, see if you like it?"
Peridot looked at the fork as if it was going to bite her, grimacing at the morsel aimed at her direction. "If i do it, will you make me try anything else?"
"Not for a while. All foods taste different, so if you don't like this, you might like something else. I won't make you try this ever again if you don't like it, though."
Peridot pondered on this thought and slowly took a bite. She set there and looked dumbstruck as she tasted the food and felt the texture.

You nodded you head happily, urging her on "Go on, chew it up." Peridot looked at you and seemed she was conflicted. She then started chewing slow, then her eyes got a bit bigger, and proceeded to swallow the food.
Your smile was large as you waited in anticipation for what she thought of it. "Well?.." You asked, curious about what she thought. Peridot didn't want to admit you were right, but she really did like it. A small blush crossed her cheeks. "It was.. interesting." She turned her attention back to the screen of the iPad. You smiled happily as you knew that she had enjoyed it. "Do you want some for yourself?" You asked.
Peridot hesitated for a moment, not sure if this would count as being defeated. "..Yes, I would...Appreciate it.."
You had the biggest grin as you got up to go make her a plate in the kitchen, then bringing it to her and watched as she enjoyed her food as you ate your's as well. You sat with her as she surfed the web and ate her food silently.
You really did enjoy this company in your home. To be honest, you were starting to get kind of lonely in the house all by yourself. Yeah, you had company over every so often, but it wasn't like what Peridot could bring. She was interesting and unpredictable. It was fun to have her around, to say the least.
You yawned as it was starting to get late. You sat up and stretched a bit, letting the blood flow through your legs once more. Peridot looked up when you had left the floor, and watched you stretch. Her face flushed a bit of green as she watched you. Why did she feel a sudden rush of heat to her face?

"I'm going to take our dishes, okay? I'm probably going to go to bed after this. It's getting late." You smiled down at her and then picked up both of your dishes and went to the kitchen.
When you were done there, you grabbed some sleepwear. "I'm going to shut the curtain okay? I'm changing." Peridot looked confused as she had a question on her mind. "You human's change attire often. Why?"
You looked at her before you shut the curtain. "Well, it's for a lot of reasons. Sometimes it's for comfort. Sometimes it's because we want to dress well for the weather, so that we are not too hot, or too cold. Sometimes it's because we just like to dress in things that appeal to us. It's all for different reasons."
Peridot seemed intrigued by this information. "So why shut the curtain?" You balked at this at first, but then remembered Peridot was an alien, and had noticed she hadn't changed attire anytime sense you had first seen her. Maybe her species didn't have to change clothes, only having that one outfit or something along those lines. "Well, humans usually like privacy when we change."
"Why?" She asked once more. This was starting to get a little embarrassing. You tried to decently explain that humans had parts that they don't like to show to others usually, and that's just how things were.
Peridot looked confused at this information, not sure how to handle it. "S-so that not what you really look like?" You blushed a little at this. This subject might be going too far. You tried to keep it simple for her. "Yes, i do look like this, but humans prefer to keep the rest of our body covered in front of others too." You stopped the conversation there, hoping she wouldn't innocently ask to know what humans look like without clothing. You shut the curtain quickly, and spoke "Don't look until i say it's alright, okay Peri?"
Peridot just rolled her eyes. "Yes, (N), do your silly human ritual if you must."and she turned her attention back to the iPad once more.
Once you were done changing into your sleep wear, you opened the curtain again. "Okay, I'm done." Peridot simply looked back up at you. "You look almost the same though. What gives?"
"I told you Peri, I just changed clothes, not my face, silly." You giggled at that as you ruffled her hair a little. Peridot grimaced at the sign of affection, but honestly, she liked you around as well. You weren't gruff like Jasper, or cold like all of the other Gems. You had a warmth about you that Peridot was soon getting use too, and liked it as well.

Current Arc: Arc 2 - Comet Order: Slayer is a modern LitRPG progression, inspired by works like Solo Leveling and Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint. If you like a character-focused story, a system that allows for various types of magic, some romance, all with a foot in realism, then perhaps you will like this one. You will see clever characters, strong characters, absolute idiots, and more, interacting in the modern world. The story is structured into Sagas and Arcs. Sagas revolve around a central plotline comprised of multiple Arcs. Due to the premise of Saga 1, do not expect much progression in the story until the saga ends. Schedule: Chapters will be posted three times a week: Monday - Wednesday - Friday at 12PM EST.
