Obito POV

It was early in the morning. I was searching for Boruto but had no luck. I checked all of the usual places but I had no luck. So I decided to ask some of his friends.

Iwabe: Sorry but I haven't seen him either.

Inojin: I'm sure it's nothing, classic Boruto showing up late.

Me: Shikadai is also missing.

Inojin: Well that's unusual.

No luck. I decided to just wait and see if they show up later. So I went to the forest where I typically go to read my favorite "stories". I wasn't expecting to run into Shino here. Something was off about him. He had his bugs swirling around and I felt an evil presence around him. I put my guard up.

Shino: Hey Obito...have you seen Boruto around?

Me: No, I was also looking for him.

We just stare at each other in silence. I slowly reach for my kunai but Shino sees what I'm doing. I jump in the air to avoid the incoming swarm of bugs. I toss the kunai at Shino but they stop midair. Shino chuckles.

Shino: Sorry, but Mitsuki tried the same thing. I've had my insects weave silk around me.

More insects came swarming at me so I quickly did hand signs.

Me:

I spewed out a giant fireball which engulfed the bugs and created a smokescreen. I jumped into the trees and spread them out. One by one I sent my clones at Shino, however they would all just be engulfed in bugs. I jumped out of my hiding spot.

Me: Time to get serious!

I activated my sharingan while Shino just smirked.

Shino: So now you decide to use that.

More and more bugs appeared until they formed a giant cloud.

Me: You're bugs may be able withstand my fire, but let's see how they fare against lava.

The large cloud of bugs was launched at me as I quickly did hand signs.

Me:

I spewed out a lot of lava that took the form of the head of a dog.

The lava collided with the insects, creating a lot of smoke.

NO POV

Shino searched through the cloud of smoke for Obito but was having trouble. Suddenly, Obito jumped out of the smoke with a ball of lightning in his hand. the Chidori.

Obito:

The Chidori collided with a wall of bugs that then dispersed.

Shino: I got you now!

Obito: Think again!

Unknown to Shino, Obito was charging up a rasengan in his other hand.

Obito:

Obito slammed the rasengan into Shino, sending him flying back crashing into tree. However when Obito went to go check on Shino, it was revealed that it was nothing more than a clone.

Obito: Dammit!

On top of a large tree were Boruto, Shikadai, and Mitsuki. They were hiding from Shino who was trying to kill them. They tensed up when they heard something moving not to far from them.

???: Hey.

Shikadai and Boruto screamed and jumped back while Mitsuki stayed the same. They became relieved when they saw Obito standing there.

Boruto: Thank god it's just you, we thought you were Shino.

Obito: Speaking of which what did you do to break him?

Shikadai: We didn't do anything, the same thing is happening to him like all others.

Obito: Where they became aggressive and insane.

Boruto: Yep.

Obito: That makes sense, so what's the plan?

They all looked at Obito.

Obito: What?

Shikadai: You're the chunin, if anyone has a plan it should be you.

Obito: Fair point, but I just got here so if anyone already has a plan I'll hear it.

Shikadai: Well I did realize one thing, unlike the way he normally is Shino is using up his chakra carelessly. He's letting those insects run wild.

Boruto: Hey yeah, you're right.

Shikadai: In other words since sensei is snagged, he's lost his usual presence of mind. We can use that to our advantage.

Boruto: But unless we can get rid of those insects, I dont see that plan working.

Obito: That's where I come in.

Everyone looks at Obito as he slams his fist together.

Shikadai: Lastly we'll need someone to play a dangerous role, a decoy.

Boruto: In that case I'll do it.

Near a waterfall and small pond there was a large swarm of bugs, these were Shino's bugs. From this swarm Shino emerged.

Shino: Seems you're finally ready to accept your fate Boruto.

Standing on a tree branch above was Boruto.

Boruto: Yeah, yeah, I just got tired of running. So I'm gonna take you out right here.

Boruto took out a couple of kunai and threw them at Shino. Shino's bugs blocked the kunai and then grabbed Boruto. Boruto disappeared into a cloud of smoke, revealing to be a clone. Another Boruto came from behind but this one was also a clone.

Shino: Oldest trick in the book, they're all clones. Just like this one.

Shino jumped out of the way as a clone came busting out of the ground. The bug swarm engulfed the clone. The real Boruto came flying down from above and threw a kunai. Shino's bugs caught the kunai, however there was an explosive tag attached to it.

Shino used his bugs to get away. Shino had no time to catch his breath since he had to dodge Shikadai's shadow paralysis jutsu. Shino fought off the technique by creating a wall of bugs. He then jumped high into the air and landed on the water surface. Shino used his bugs to grab Boruto and Shikadai and pin them to the tree. More bugs swarmed around him.

Shino: I'll admit, you played well. But it's time for you to die!

The swarm of bugs lunged at the boys, but then were incinerated by fire. Shino looked over and saw Obito with his sharingan.

Obito: You didn't forget about me did you?

The large swarm of bugs attacked Obito as he took out his katana.

Obito:

Obito's katana became covered in lightning; he then charged at the insects. He began to use his lightning blade to slice apart this insects while also keeping them away.

Shino: You dont think you can slice apart all of my bugs, do you?

Obito: Nope, I'm just the diversion.

Just then extended arms came popping out of the water and wrapped around Shino. Shino turned around and saw Mitsuki standing there. Both Shino and Mitsuki went under the water.

Obito POV

I continued to slice away at the never ending hoard of insects. I need to get rid of them quickly and fast. Then an idea came to me. I did hand signs.

Me:

I held out my hands as a ball of lightning started to form. That ball then exploded causing large bolts of lighting to shoot out, burning up all the bugs. I look over at the water and saw something yellow glowing underneath it. Shino came shooting out of the water and landed on the ground. Boruto and Shikadai were free.

Shikadai: We did it, our plan worked.

Me: Hey guys, I dont see your friend coming up out of the water.

Shikadai: Crap he must be drowning!

Me: I'm on it!

I quickly dive into the water and start swimming down. I see Mitsuki floating towards the bottom. I grab him and start pulling us back up. Once we get back to the surface I lay down Mitsuki as I sit down myself.

Me: I gotta stop hanging out with people who are younger than me.
