《I wanna be yours... -ALEX TURNER-》36. Cigarettes and sunglasses

It was the next day, and I woke up in Mona's apartment.
After crying in Alex arms, we went down to the lobby and Mona helped me get to her car. Alex said goodbye, and gave me a little note with his phone number on it. He told me, that if I needed someone to talk to, he'd be there. I gave Alex a soft smile before leaving. I am not sure how I feel about him after this night. Anyway, we stopped by the hotel that I was staying in with Louis and I picked up my stuff, because I didn't want to sleep in the same room as Louis.
Mona offered me to sleep in her guest bedroom and I gladly accepted.
We had some hot chocolate and chatted before getting ready to go to sleep.

"Hey sweetie."
I heard Mona's voice and it woke me up.
"Did you sleep well?" She asked.
I opened one eye and saw Mona standing next to my bed with a smoothie in her hand.
"Yeah, I did luckily." I said and yawned. "You're guest bed is extremely comfortable."
Mona chuckled. "Anything for my guests."
I smiled.
"Here, I made you a breakfast smoothie." Mona said and handed me the smoothie in her hand.
"Thank you so much! You shouldn't have." I accepted the smoothie and blew Mona a kiss.
Mona went with it and grabbed the imaginary kiss with her hand and placed it on her heart and made a dramatic face.
I almost choked on my smoothie.
"Is it good?" She asked.
"You're acting skills? No." I chuckled. "The smoothie? Hell yes!"
"You've had a rough night, it's the least I can do." Mona said.
"It has been a bit of a confusing night yeah." I confessed. "What should I do with the note Alex gave?"

Mona shrugged her shoulders. "I can't decide that for you honey." She sat next to me on the bed. "The only thing that I know, is that Alex has changed a lot since the last time you saw him."
I looked down and closed my eyes. "I better hope he has changed." I look at Mona. "I don't know if I can trust him again."
"Well, the fact that you already want to trust him again, says enough right?" Mona said.
"Yeah, I mean, I guess?" I smiled a little. "He was my best friend, and I miss my best friend."
"Then, go call him." Mona smiled excitedly.
"Should I?" I asked confused.
"YES BELLA!" Mona almost jumped on the bed.
"Okay, okay! I'll call him." I laughed at her actions.
——————————————————————
There was a breeze, but I wasn't cold.
The sun was shining through the leaves of the trees. And some birds were singing.
I was walking to the café were I would meet Alex. I called him this morning and asked him if we could meet. He agreed, and here I was.
I saw him sitting at a table for two just in front of the café's entrance. He smoked his cigarette and he was wearing some black sunglasses.
I immediately felt like a rock and I couldn't move any further. I can't do this...
But just before I wanted to turn around and walk away, Alex spotted me.
"Bella!" Alex waved at me and gestured to me to sit on the open seat in front of him.
Okay shit, I can't go back now.
I quickly smiled and started walking to our table.
"Hi Alex." I said and sat down on my chair.
"So, uhm, how are you?" Alex took off his sunglasses and took another drag from his cigarette.

"I am alright." I said. "Last night was... a bit much I guess."
Alex nodded softly while playing with his leather bracelet I gifted him once. "I get that, I am really sorry about Louis and about my behaviour too."
I cracked a little smile. "Louis was an ass."
Alex looked up and chuckled. "I don't want to say it but.... Told you."
I giggled. "I remember you saying that, right."
"Can I get you two something to drink?" A waitress asked us suddenly.
Alex and I broke our eye contact and ordered.
"For me a cappuccino please." Alex said.
"And for me a hot chocolate, thank you." I said.
The waitress wrote our orders down on her note block.
"Great, with whipped cream or no?" The waitress asked.
I opened my mouth to say yes, but before I knew it, Alex already said: "With, please."
I lifted my brow.
"Right, coming at ya." The waitress walked away.
"How did you know?" I asked.
Alex smiled. "I've known you for years and years Arabella Brown." He chuckled. "I've never seen you ordering a hot chocolate without any whipped cream."
I rolled my eyes and smiled. "Okay, I guess that's probably true."
Alex shook his head and smiled. "No, I KNOW it's true."
We both laughed.
———————————————————————
"I've had fun." I said as we finished walking back to Mona's apartment.
"Yeah, me too." Alex said. "It was great seeing you again. I never thought we would."
I looked down. "Well, me neither, but I guess this was the plan."
"Hey, I really meant what I said last night." Alex lifted my chin. "I'll do anything to make you trust me again."
"It's okay Alex. I know you will." I gave Alex a small smile and kissed his cheek goodbye. "I'll see you back in Sheffield."
Alex had a wide grin on his face.
"Can't wait!"
