《Blood Red (Daredevil FF)》Blood Red

A few days later there was a news report about a bomb explosion at a bank in Hell's Kitchen. It bothered me a lot that the police wasn't able to find the man and that the only reason that he's still doing this is the man with the black mask - but I couldn't do something about it.
In the afternoon I suddenly heard someone knocking on my door. I took the remote control and switched off the TV. Then I got up from my couch and walked to the door to open it. After doing so I saw Matthew. I could swear he looked like crying for a second but right afterwards he smiled at me. I was a bit surprised that he visited me that late but I always enjoyed seeing him so I didn't ask.
Matt took a deep breath and then he hugged me. I hugged him back and leaned my head on his shoulder even though he was slightly confusing me with his actions.
"Why are you doing this?"
"I just wanted to be close to you." He said and with that he ended our hug.
I saw a bit sad about it that our hug ended that quick but I smiled though. After taking a deep breath I asked him: "Oh, but...uh, how about we go out tonight?"
Matt agreed and smiled widely. Then we set a time for meeting up and where we'd go. Afterwards we returned in our flats where I spent a relaxed afternoon. I watched some movies and ate some junk food meanwhile.
As it slowly got dark outside I got up and walk in my room to change clothes. After doing so I fixed my hair and checked myself a last time in the mirror before leaving my flat and knocking on Matt's door. I waited a few seconds but he didn't open it so I knocked again. He still didn't open the door but I heard him say quietly that I should wait a second so I waited - a minute, then two minutes and then three minutes till I knocked again but he didn't answer anything this time.

I thought shortly and then I put my hand on the door handle to press it down. I realized that the door was unlocked and slowly walked inside. As usually the light was turned off so I pressed the switch so I could see everything.
Everything seemed to be normal but I couldn't see Matt anywhere. I walked a few metres around.
"Matt?" I looked around but still I didn't see him and couldn't hear anything.
I took another step and suddenly I saw something red on the ground - it was blood. I felt like my heart just skipped a beat and then the adrenaline started rushing through my veins. I ran to his bedroom and opened the door but I again he wasn't there. Afterwards I ran to the bathroom and opened the door - there I saw Matt.
He was wearing black clothes and was sitting on the ground right beside the sink. His eyes were closed, some blood was streaming out of his mouth and he was breathing heavily. I got on my knees right beside him and took my phone out of my pocket. Then I dialled the number of the ambulance. Before pressing the green button Matt opened his mouth and whispered
"Don't..."
I put my phone down and stared at him. "Matt, you are bleeding and you look terrible right now. I need to call the ambulance."
"Don't call them. I-I just need a minute." He said and slowly opened his eyes.
I nodded and got up. I took a towel and dipped it into water. Afterwards I kneeled down beside again and carefully wipped the blood off his cheek. I asked him what happened but he didn't answer. Actually I didn't need an answer because I could already make a supposition: His clothes looked just like the one's of the man with the black mask and the fact that he was always hurt made me think that he was this man - the devil of Hell's Kitchen. Even though this seemed impossible to me because he wasn't able to see which I was strongly doubting at the moment.

I thought about it for moment and then I confronted him with my guess. Matt didn't reply for a second but then he nodded. I couldn't believe it - he's really this man. I got up and moved a hand through my hair. All this seemed totally crazy to me.
A few minutes later I sat down on the floor as well and just looked at Matt. He already told me a few times that I'm not allowed to talk about this with anyone else. Afterwards he finally told me what happened to him.

I am thinking about an ending for this story already because I don't have that much time for writing anymore. I guess I'll write something about two more chapters and then end it. I hope you liked though :)

The Valion Chronicles - The Emergence
An action-adventure story about the struggles of a group of refugees from the war torn world of Valin fleeing the vindictive fury of a scientist turned military madman bent on intergalactic domination. The crew of the Safe Haven finds their way to Earth to discover that not only are there humans there but a variety of other alien species cohabitating on Earth which had become a central trading hub in the time they'd been in contact with a collective known as the Transgalactic Federation of Planets. The story is meant to be my take as a westerner on the concept of a Japanese Shonen Anime written with inspirations from the likes of Power Rangers and Kamen Rider but also meant to be my own spin on the conventions and tropes of the genre with a bit more of a large-scale world and a very open ended universe with lots of room to develop things outside the world of the main cast.
