《beautiful dreamer - t. laurence》chapter nineteen

Maybe Stella forgot to tell her family she was coming home. Maybe she forgot to tell Amy and Dennis until the day before.
But no matter what happened or what didn't, Stella found herself with a moody Amy, an annoyed Dennis, a sleepy Laurie, and a very long train journey to get to the harbour.
Stella had no idea how she bared the silence- maybe it was because of Teddy's sleepy antics, which included a very cuddly man, a lot of kisses, and a lot of cuddling.
Sickening.
The entire boat journey, Amy and Dennis spoke only to each other, and Stella could have sworn it was only because they were dramatic, but she didn't care, because Teddy and Stella had a room all to themselves, and the walls were not thin.
Stella's favourite part of the trip, though, was the train to the March family's house. Dennis had stopped being annoying, instead making fun of Stella and Laurie, because the walls were not as thick as they thought they were.
Stella noticed the smiles that Amy was cracking, and soon enough, the scandal about the forgotten trip was just that. Forgotten.
In no time, the March family house was within reaching distance. Meg was home, as it was thanksgiving, and as was Mr Brooke. Stella was almost sure that Meg should have had her baby by then, and she was rather confused as to why she was still looking the most radiant, when she was about to push a human out of her you-know-what.
Stella knocked the door. Meg was the one who answered.
"Christ, Margaret! When is that demon going to emerge?" Stella yelled before she could stop herself.
She, very quickly, found herself in a scramble of people, and the house became four people more crowded.
Stella and Laurie would stay in the Laurence house, of course, and Amy would take her own bed, Beth taking Stella's old one so Dennis could share with Amy.
"Oh, how I've missed you! Did you get the parcels? And the letters? And the money?" Stella rambled, everyone speaking over each other excitedly.
"Yes, Stella, we got everything. And thank you for your kindness. We would give it back, but we know you are stubborn. And we wouldn't dare face your wrath." Father joked.
"Never leave again!" Beth exclaimed, clinging to Stella as if she would disappear at any second.

"Oh, Beth, I don't want to leave again!" Stella kissed her sisters forehead.
"You know," Jo began, "I will never let you leave."
Stella laughed at her older sister, who ruffled her hair. Stella pushed Jo's hands away, and adjusted her white ribbon in her long dark hair.
And they carried on, talking and laughing, as if they'd only left to get some bread from the bakery.
It went on for hours, until everyone started filtering off to bed, or in Laurie's case, to talk to his grandfather and Stella's father.
And in Stella's case, to talk to two of the most important women in her life. Marmee and Meg.
"You know how Teddy told me he didn't want to marry me just yet? Well, I've been thinking, and I don't know what to do. Because I understand his points and feel selfish for what I did, but I still feel as if he should want to marry me. After everything. And you are two of the most patient people I know, and I wasn't going to tell Mr Laurence, and Beth is in bed. What should I do?" Stella rambled, barely pausing to breathe.
"Well, I think it's perfectly rational to feel that way, Stella. You've been through a lot together." Marmee started the chain of advice.
"Yes, and I believe that you'll get married sooner or later anyway." Meg added on.
"It's just, everything was going so well, and then that happened, and now I feel awful, and I don't know if I'll ever get over it." Stella interrupted the flow of motivation.
"And that is completely valid. But you are one of the strongest couples I know, and I know you'll get through this. Together." Marmee finished.
"Thank you. I'm sorry for wasting your time."
"You will never waste our time." Meg said firmly, before gasping.
"What? Is my relationship doomed?" Stella cried, standing up and making the whole scene even more dramatic.
"I think I'm having a baby." Meg exclaimed.
"Meg it's been nearly nine months, I'm very glad you've noticed- wait! Holy Christ you're having a baby!" Stella screamed.
Mr Brooke rushed into the room, and Stella grabbed his shoulders.
"John! Your wife is about to give birth to a watermelon sized human and-"

"Stella, move!" Marmee exclaimed, and Stella began running in circles, picking up a cushion and giving it to Meg.
"What's this for?" Meg asked, groaning in pain.
"I don't know! Put it in front of your lady parts and hope it stops the birthing process? I'm not ready to become a mother!" Stella gripped her head.
"Stella, you do know this isn't your baby, right?" Mr Brooke asked, amused by Stella's actions.
"John, please, this is everyone's baby."
Beth appeared in the doorway to find her eldest sister with no underwear on, about to bring a human into the world.
"Beth, you're too innocent-" Stella didn't have the chance to finish, before Beth fainted. Dennis and Amy arrived just on time to take her into a different room and help her recover.
Mr March and Mr Laurence entered the room next, and then came Theodore Laurence himself.
"Wait! Everyone stop!" Stella exclaimed, getting nobody's attention but Teddy's.
"What's wrong?" He asked her gently, as if her sister wasn't giving birth in the corner.
"I've never seen a vagina before- oh wait never mind." Stella quickly remembered something, and suddenly Teddy realised they had to have a little chat after everything else happened.
"Margaret March!" Jo exclaimed, Charlotte by her side.
"Well hasn't this been a busy day-" Stella said nonchalantly, as if she hadn't been screamed two minutes prior to her laid back comment. She was cut off by Meg's screaming. Stella screamed back, louder.
"Okay, Stella, I think you're getting a bit stressed. Come on, let's go get you a drink of water." Charlotte led Stella out of the room.
"So, you know the way you're in love with Jo?" Stella mentioned casually when Charlotte was mid sip, causing her to choke.
"Yes?" Charlotte responded hesitantly after gathering control of her lungs. Meg screamed.
"Can you make babies? I mean you don't have the, you know, plum-tree shaker? Knick-knack? Silent flute? Doodle-"
"I get the point, Stella. Please stop." The older of the two said, pausing as Meg screamed yet again. "And no, I don't think we can. Unless one of us has... you know..."
"Bakes the potato? Does the bam bam in the ham? Puts the banana in the fruit salad-"
"Got the point. And yes, unless one of us goes 'bam bam in the ham' with another man, and gets pregnant from him, then no. I don't think we can. But I doubt we'd have children anyway. We're both so busy, you know? I'm only off for a while before I become a doctor." Meg screamed again, interrupting the very casual conversation.
"You know I'm so glad it's allowed for women to become doctors. Just think, three years ago it would have been illegal."
Stella began to calm down then, and decided it was time to go back in to the living room, where very loud noises were coming from.
"Holy Christ!" Stella whispered to herself.
That was a baby head poking out of her sisters cave of wonders.
"Oh my God!" She laughed slightly as the baby sort of... slid out.
She felt someone's arm wrap around her, and she didn't have to look to know it was Teddy.
"Well. This has been incredibly scary." Teddy whispered to Stella. The peaceful moment between the entire family was ruined when Meg started screaming again.
There was another one.
Stella ran to take the baby out of Meg's arms, rushing her into the kitchen to clean her up. Laurie followed, as did Charlotte.
"I'm so glad I didn't train to help women give birth. I might love a bit of... you know..." Stella opened her mouth, but Charlotte covered it. "But I could not take a human out of one every day."
Stella bit Charlotte's hand, and continued cleaning the baby.
"What do you think they'll call her?" Teddy asked.
"I hope they call her..." Stella looked around. "Window. Or..." She looked around again, eyes landing on a vase full of flowers from the garden. "Daisy."
"Wait, that's actually perfect." Laurie said, and Stella and Charlotte looked at him with very confused expressions. Of course, Meg didn't want anyone to know.
"I mean, she suits it." He covered up, and Stella looked down at the baby.
"Yes, she does. Now, petit enfant, shall we go see if your mother has another bun she's hiding in her oven?" She cooed.

I was just like everyone else. At least, I thought so. Everyone grew up in a mansion with servants, trained to be a debutante, had a traveling archeologist for a father, and gave it all up to do whatever the hell they wanted. Right? Well that’s what I did. I was happy. As happy as a single twenty four year old girl can be living in an apartment selling shit online to pay the bills. Not actual shit, that's gross. No, I bought stuff from garage sales, thrift stores, and junk shops, and resold it in my online store. I was pretty good at finding stuff to peddle to my customers. I made rent every month and didn’t have to strip. I’m a bit too chunky to swing around a pole anyway. Life was great! Until two sexy men broke into my apartment and woke me up from the most erotic dream my sexually depraved mind could come up with. One was between my legs, the other was... Oh well, it was a dream and I didn’t even get to finish it. Those bastards! Now I’m supposed to believe my dead father wasn’t an archeologist, but some kind of paranormal agent working for a secret organization called The Guard. My ability to find items for my customers is just a perk inherited from him. And I’m supposed to use my inherited powers to save the world. All while these hunks of man flesh guard me from other paranormals out to get whatever the hell they think I have. A certain body part is dripping with excitement, literally. But my mind is saying “Hell No!”
