Lisa and Rosé sat in the back of English class and discussed more about their prom plans while Jennie tried to distract herself by reading a book. Their teacher had let them loose for the last twenty minutes of class knowing that he wouldn't get anything out of them since prom was two days away.

"Hey..." A small voice uttered. Jennie lifted her eyes from the book and was met with chocolate orbs belonging to someone who she had fallen accustomed to over the years.

Irene took a seat next to her ex and cleared her throat. "Haven't talked to you in a while." She eased in the conversation.

Jennie slowly closed her book and sat up straighter. After the break up, she avoided the girl at all costs not because she hated Irene but because she wanted find herself and figure out what she really wanted. It's been weeks since they last talked. They would share glances here and there or a small smile in the hallway but never really conversed.

"Yeah." The volleyball player uttered.

"How you been?" Irene asked.

"Umm... fine, I guess." Jennie lied. She wasn't fine. Jisoo was in the hospital and her ex was talking to her for the first time in what seemed like forever.

"I heard about Jisoo." Irene retorted despondently. "Are you sure you're okay?"

"I'm coping." Jennie answered flashing the girl with a small smile. It was nice that Irene still cared for her. No matter how they ended their relationship, she knew that the cheerleader would always be there for her. Aside from the cheating, Irene was a good person.

"Is she going to be able to make it toProm?" The older queried.

"No." Jennie shook her head. "She's getting released later today but I doubt she'll be in good shape after two days. And even if she insist on going I won't let her."

Irene chuckled lightly. "Way to put your foot down, Nini. So are you just going stag then, because if you ar-"

"I'm not going." Jennie quickly interjected making the other girl furrow her brows.

"What do you mean you're not going?" Irene tilted her head and looked at her ex as if she had two heads.

"I'm not going." The brunette repeated firmly.

"Um. Okay..." Irene said in bewilderment. "Nini, you've been planning Prom since we were twelve. You got your dressed tailored and booked the Limo before senior year even started."

Jennie just shrugged.

"H-have... have you told Jisoo?" Irene posed curiously.

"No. In all honesty, I was going to wait until the day of." Jennie admitted sadly. She knew Jisoo would oppose and make her go.

"She's not going to like that." The cheerleader said knowingly.

"I know." Jennie sighed. She combed through her brown locks and pursed her lips together. "That's what everyone's been telling me."

"That's only because everyone knows how much Prom means to you. Especially Jisoo." Irene scolded. "That poor girl had listened to you maul over the perfect dress. The perfect hairstyle. The song you want to dance to. Your dream corsage arrangement. Sometimes, I forget how grateful I am that Prom season is during cheer competition. Don't get me wrong, I love hearing you talk about something your passionate about but I listened to you talk about this day since we were in diapers. I just, I would never have that much patience as Jisoo does."

"Say what you really feel." Jennie rolled her eyes playfully.

"Jen, you went on for days about limos when Jisoo couldn't tell the difference between a Sedan and a Lincoln." Irene deadpanned. "I don't even know the difference!"

"Noobs." The brunette muttered under her breath. "It's clearly so obvious, one is more classy."

"Alright." The cheerleader huffed."Can we please get back to you not going to Prom?"

Jennie groaned. "Look, Irene. I know what you're trying to do. I'm not going to prom without Jisoo. She's more important to me than a dance, okay?"

"You said she was getting released today...that means she perfectly fine. I'm sure she can take care of herself for one night. And doesn't she have siblings?" Irene argued.

"I want to take care of her." Jennie insisted. "She needs me."

The older frowned. It was clear that she had lost the best thing she had. Jennie was no longer hers but Jisoo's. She nodded understandingly and rose up from the seat.

"I didn't ask anyone to prom nor did I say yes to anyone who asked me." Irene informed shyly. "I- um... I had this crazy idea that you were going to ask me. I guess I was wrong. But I know Jisoo can't make it to prom and I also know that you have a pretty little white dress fully pressed in the back of your closet. It would be such a disappointment if you didn't get to show it off. If you change your mind, it would be such a privilege to take you to prom. We can go as friends. You mean a lot to me, Nini. Even after everything."

Jennie took a deep breath and placed the book she was reading on top of her table. As she listened to her ex, she came into a realization that the girl standing in front of her was the same girl she fell in love with a while a go. Irene was still compassionate and still cared forher. The same way she cared for the cheerleader.

She stood up from her seat and engulfed the girl in a big hug. At first Irene was stunned at Jennie's actions but soon reciprocated the embrace. There were no butterflies or sparks but there was that warm feeling that filled up a gap in their hearts. Jennie loves Irene, but not the same way she loves Jisoo.

"Thanks... for everything." Jennie mumbled before pulling away just as the bell rang for lunch break. She smiled at the petite brunette as the girl walked away.

Lisa and Rosé draped their arms around their captain's shoulder as they watched Irene exit the door. They both turned to Jennie with puzzled looks.

"What was that about, Nini?" The Thai queried.

"Closure." Jennie simply stated.

Jisoo was on the ground packing up her bag. She was so ready to get out of the hospital. She wanted to be home and sleep in her own bed for the night. Her doctors had advised her to stay home and rest up for a couple days, so no school for the rest of the week. She was in the middle of folding a sweater when she heard the door creak.

"Chu, you have a visitor." Dara spoke up. "And please leave that to me or your father. Get in your wheelchair."

"Mom, I don't need the wheelchair. I can walk perfectly fine and let them in, please." Jisoo replied without averting her attention from her bag.

"Alright..." Dara said skeptically. She let out a sigh and let the visitor in.

"In a hurry are we?" The volleyball player smiled to herself when she recognized the voice ringing in her ear. She turned her head and found Nayeon with roses in her hand, smiling brightly at her.

"What are you doing here?" Jisoo chuckled as she stood up from her position and faced the hazel-eyed girl.

"I'm here to see if you're still a nerd." Nayeon joked. She handed Jisoo the red roses she had bought for her."What's one plus one?"

The dark haired girl accepted the flowers and shook her head with amusement. "Ha, ha. Thanks. Though last time I checked you're suppose to be in school right now."

"I may have played hookie to see you."

"Oh my god!"

"I wanted to make sure you were okay." Nayeon retorted wholeheartedly.

Jisoo walked up to the soccer player and wrapped her arms around the girl's neck. "I can't believe you skipped school for me."

"I'll do anything for you, remember?"

"Nayeon..."

The girl pulled back and locked eyes with the dark-haired beauty. She brushed a strand of hair from Jisoo's face and let her hand linger on the girl's jaw. "I was so worried, Chu. I thought something bad had happen to you when I heard the news..."

"Well, I kinda did get hit by a moving vehicle..." Jisoo quipped.

"That's not funny." Nayeon frowned.

"I'm good. See..." The volleyball player wiggled out of Nayeon's grasp and started dancing around the room. She smiled widely at the worried girl. "Stop fretting."

Nayeon grimaced at Jisoo. "Don't- Chu, be careful. I don't think you should be doing that."

Jisoo only shook her head and rolled her eyes playfully. She picked up her bag and threw it over her shoulder before looking up to Nayeon.

"Drive me home?" She quirked. "My parents are throwing me a welcome home dinner. You interested?"

"It'll be my pleasure, ma lady." Nayeon dramatically bowed to Jisoo, making the pale girl chuckle. She opened the door for Jisoo and snatched the bag off the girl's shoulder. "I got it, babe." She winked.

"Tone down flirting. If Jendeukie sees that, she wouldn't think twice to bite your head off." Jisoo teased as she craned her head over her shoulder.

"Yeah, yeah. I got that."

Jennie stood by Jisoo's porch staring out in the clouds as she waited for her to come home form the hospital. Onthe other hand, Lisa, Yeri, and Rosé were on their phones, sitting on the swinging chair behind their captain.

The Kim's car pulled in the driveway causing all four girls to look at their direction. Jennie plastered on a wide smile and stared at the passenger door expecting to see Jisoo stepping out but was slightly disappointed when it was Jiyoon who came out. She knitted her eyebrows together after all of the Jisoo's family filed out of the car without their youngest daughter.

"Where's Jisoo?" Jennie queried as the other family members walked towards her. But before anyone could answer a red Nissan pulled up by the driveway and in out Nayeon with Jisoo in the passenger side. Her jaw dropped as the soccer player walked around her car to open Jisoo's door. "What the fuck..." She murmured to herself. She didn't hateNayeon, she just felt threatened.

The dark haired girl and Nayeon walked up to her porch together with beaming faces. It was her first night out of the hospital and she wanted to have dinner with all her friends, Nayeon including. She knew Jennie would probably not approve at first but Nayeon was her friend and she wanted her to be there.

"Hey, Jendeukie." Jisoo greeted her favorite girl, only receiving a death glare from Jennie. She leaned in and pecked her on the cheek before letting her mouth linger by the ear. "It's only for dinner. She's a friend. Play nice."

Jennie let out a low growl as she shifted her gaze at Nayeon. The girl fidgeted nervously under Jennie's stare and hid behind Jisoo.

"Hey, Nayeon!" Lisa waved by the corner along with the other girls.

"Oh, hey guys." Nayeon addressed to the trio in the swing. She relaxed a little bit knowing that she wasn't going to be alone.

"Dinner's going to be in a while, so make yourselves comfortable in the living room or feel free to go up to Jisoo'sroom." Dara told the group of girls, who hummed in agreement. Everyone walked inside the house, except Jennie and Jisoo.

The brown-eyed girl stuck her bottom lip out andhuffed. "Why did you bring her?"

"She's my friend, Jendeukie." Jisoo replied calmly.

"You use to make out with her." Jennie deadpanned, folding her arms in front of her chest.

"That was before. Now we're friends. I promise." Jisoo assured.

"It was 3 weeks ago." Jennie argued.

"Jendeukie, I only love you. I only want you." The brown-eyed girl vowed.

Jisoo cupped Jennie's face and pulled her towards her. She captured the girl's bottom lips with hers and sucked it lightly before moving it. Jennie loosened up and opened her arms to rest up on Jisoo's waist.

Jisoo was her person too.

Flashback

Jennie sat in the back of the bus away from her teammates. They were on their way to an away game and she was not in the best mood to socialize. She had just gotten her first trigonometry test back and was dissatisfied with the grade she received. She stared at the D minus in the corner of the test and clutched onto the paper tighter causing it to crinkle.

Her eyes flickered up and saw Jisoo coming towards her so she quickly stuffed the packet in her backpack and slipped on herheadphones. She prayed that the dark-haired girl wouldn't sit next to her like she usually does. But of course, Jisoo would. She felt the seat next to her dip and knew that her time to think was going to be compromised. She closed her eyes and leaned her head against the window to try and send Jisoo a message.

The pale girl dropped her bag on the ground and turned to Jennie. She noticed the girl's lack of enthusiasm. Jennie would always be excited to talk to her about her day but today was different. Jisoo bent down to her book bag and grabbed a piece of paper from a folder. She picked up a pen and scribbled something down.

Jisoo folded up the paper and handed it to Jennie. The brown-eyed girl felt a something light hit her palms and opened her eyes. She turned to the girl next to her and sent her a questioning look before unfolding it.

Jennie glanced at Jisoo and bit her bottom lip. She loved how her teammate could read her and know exactly how to approach it. She took out a pencil from her bag and wrote a reply. She passed it back to Jisoo and rested her forehead on the bus seat in front of her.

The older girl opened the note.

She scribbled something down before giving it back to Jennie.

Brown orbs scanned the paper and smiled. It said:

And below it was a picture of Jisoo with her thumbs up. The brunette craned her head and found Jisoo smiling with her thumbs up just like the picture. The image was just to precious, she couldn't stop herself from grinning.

"Why can't you just let me sulk for a minute?" Jennie giggled.

"Because pretty girls like you should always be smiling." Jisoo replied smoothly.

"Fine, lets talk about it."

"Alright. Hit me."
