《Mondays (Jensoo Convert)》"Sometimes it takes the threat of losing something to realize its value."

Jennie gripped her steering wheel as she stared at the hospital from the parking lot. She rushed out of school after hearing the news and decided to stop by the florist before going to the hospital. It's only been 24 hours since she was there last. Her parents had forced her to go to school that day after she stayed with Jisoo the past two days.
She was ecstatic that Jisoo had finally awoken. It felt like all her worries had gone away when Lisa told her. Like a weight had been lifted and it was easier for her to breath. She picked up the bouquet of daisies she got from the flower shop and got outof her car.
The brunette strutted through theautomatic doors and made her way to Jisoo's room. She didn't need any directions since she was familiar with the huge maze. She grew nervous with each step she took.
As she stopped in front of Jisoo's room she heard laughter from behind the door. She peeked through the blinds and tears up a bit as she saw the dark haired beauty laughing with her family. Jisoo looked healthy, besides the small cuts on her face. It made her heart beat a little faster knowing that Jisoo was okay now. The doctors had explained that there were no major damages to the girl because the driver had slowed down enough before colliding with the victim. She bit her lip and observed the girl through the glass window.
"Are you just going to stand out here or...?" A manly voice queried from behind. Jennie flinched at the sudden intrusion and snapped her head towards the owner. Jisoo's brother had a childish grin plastered on his face. "Did I scare you?"
"Junghun!" Jennie growled playfully. "Oh you..."
"How long you been standing there?" He asked.
"Not long." Jennie said truthfully. She toyed with the flowers in her hand and sighed. "H-how is she?"
Junghun's lips twitched up. "Why don't you go in and see for yourself?"
He walked around Jennie and turned the knob. He slowly poked his head in before opening the door wider.
"Someone's here to see you, Chu."Junghun beamed.
Jisoo sat up straighter and shifted her eyes to the door. The anticipation was killing her. She watched Junghun wave the mystery person in and after a few seconds in came a brunette carrying daisies.
Jennie had her head bowed down as she entered. She held the flowers up to her face to remain anonymous. Slowly she lowered the bouquet down to reveal her face and lifted her gaze to meet Jisoo's.
"Hi." She squeaked.
"Jendeukie." Jisoo's eyes twinkled when Jennie showed her face. She raised her arms and nodded her teammate to come over.
The brown-eyed girl rushed into the girl's open arms and buried her face in the crook of Jisoo's neck. She heard the injured girl winced in pain and opted to break away but the pale girl held her in place, squeezing her tighter.
"I'm so sorry, Chu." Jennie said apologetically.
"Shhh..." Jisoo lulled. She rubbed the smaller girl's back calmly and glanced at her parents and siblings in the room. They got the message and quietly left the room. "Why are you sorry, babe?"
"If it wasn't for me... you wouldn't be here. I'm sorry." Jennie hiccupped and clutched on Jisoo'shospital robe. "I should have just said that I loved you. I'm so stubborn sometimes."
This made Jisoo chuckle."Sometimes?" She teased.
"Jisoo." The brunette complained.

"Hey, it's not your fault. Don't blame yourself. " Jisoo mumbled into Jennie's shoulder. "I missed you and I'm glad you're okay"
"I missed you too." Jennie replied her voice slightly quivering. She placed a small kiss on Jisoo's neck as she murmured something that Jisoo had yearned to hear. "I love you, Chu and don't you forget that."
"I love you too, Jendeukie. So much." Jisoo whispered back. "And if it were to happen again I would do the same exact thing. I would always choose you over me, over anyone, anyday. I don't regret it."
Jennie pulled away from the embrace and stared at Jisoo. She dropped the flowers and took a hold of the top of Jisoo's garment before she jerked the girl forward as she dove in. It was suppose to be romantic but it ended up with both girls hitting each other's foreheads.
Jisoo grimaced and let out a raspy laugh. "Jendeukie, what the hell..."
"Sorry. I was trying to make a bold move." Jennie groaned as she rubbed her forehead. "Are you okay?"
"Yes." The older girl said in amusement. "Did you just try to kiss me?"
"Yeah..."
"If you wanted to kiss me all you gotta to do was ask, babe."
"I know but I wanted it to be spontaneous like in the movies." Jennie frowned. She slumped her shoulders down and gave Jisoo the puppy eyes. "I suck."
"No, you don't. You're just super cheesy." Jisoo argued. She placed a finger on Jennie's chin and pulled her face toward hers. "You want our first kiss to be in a hospital? It's not very idealistic."
"I don't care where. I just want to kiss you." The smaller girl admitted bashfully.
"Then come here. Oh and careful, I got stitches..." Jisoo pointed on her upper lip before leaning her forehead against the brunette. She closed her eyes and lifted Jennie's chin up to connect their lips. She smiled into the kiss. It was everything she imagined. Jennie's lips were soft and so heavenly.
Their lips moved sloppily due to the fact that this was their first kiss and didn't really know what to expect but they didn't mind. Jennie placed her hands up to caress the other girl's face. Kissing Jisoo was so different from kissing Irene. It was better.
Jisoo broke the kiss first. She fell back to her pillow with a satisfied sigh, her eyes still shut from the bliss of the moment. A lopsided grin spread across her face.
Jennie licked her lips and opened her eyes when they separated. She looked at Jisoo with a big smile on her face.
"What?" The brown-eyed girl asked curiously.
"Nothing." Jisoo replied in a playful manner. She fluttered her eyelids open and peered over at Jennie.
"How was it?" Her teammate urged.
"Best first kiss." Jisoo radiated happiness. She sat back up and wrapped her arms around Jennie's neck. She dragged the girl down making her lay on top of her.
"Jisoo!" The brunette squealed. She was quick to prop herself with her elbows, planting on each sideof the patient to prevent adding her full weight on the girl beneath her. "You're hurt... I don't want to make it worse."
Jisoo smirked. "Then kiss me tomake it better."
Jennie thought about it for a moment before she shrugged and started to lean in. But, of course, their moment was ruined when the door suddenly opened without warning.
"WE'RE HERE BITCHES!" Lisa announced as she barged in the room making both girls to whip their heads in her direction. Her eyes widened when she found the pair in a very compromising position. She gaped at her team captains and started laughing hysterically. "AYE YO ROSIE! YERI! COME LOOK AT THIS!"

Jennie scrambled off Jisoo and fixed her blouse. The guilt evident on her face knowing she's been caught while Jisoo just giggled and shook her head.
"Well, well, well. No wonder you were in such a rush to come here, Nini... You wanted to suck faces with your girlfriend over there." Lisa smiled smugly as she wiggled her eyebrows suggestively. "You minx."
Girlfriend. Jennie thought to herself. She glanced down at Jisoo completely ignoring Lisa's teasing. She still hasn't asked. What are they?
The two other girls ran in the room with balloons and fruit baskets in their arms. Both looking like they just ran a marathon because of the amount of sweat glistening on their bodies. They were both panting and out of breathe.
"Lisa... you had History when we left the school... couldn't you have at least helped Yeri and I carry these...stuff..." Rosé breathed out as she glared at her girlfriend.
"Yeah... Manoban... we came from gym! And Cowell made us run l-laps..." Yeri complained.
"Well you didn't ask." Lisa shrugged in response and walked towards Jisoo. "Anyway, guess what I witnessed when I came in!" She clapped her hands together and smirked at the dark haired beauty.
"She ruined a moment. That's what she did." Jisoo retorted bitterly.
"Now, now, Chu. Don't be a grumpy little monster." The Thai taunted.
"We hate you." Jennie spoke up from across the bed.
Rosé and Yeri collected their breaths and strolled over to their teammates. They placed the goodies down by the corner and crowded around Jisoo.
"God. Talk about deja vu." Yeri murmured as she examined the room. It reminded her of when Jennie was admitted for her concussion.
"Yeah, but this time Jisoo's in the bed." Rosé hummed along.
Jisoo looked over at Jennie and patted the space next to her in the bed. Jennie complied with the girl's wishes and sat by her side. The dark haired girl caught Jennie by surprise when she snaked her arm around her waist and rested her hand on her thigh.
Jennie looked at Jisoo briefly before putting her hand on top of Jisoo's and intertwining them. It was a small gesture but it made their heart race. Their friends didn't seem to notice or at least pretended not to since they kept talking about whatever they were talking about.
Lisa noticed and so did that other two but they didn't want to spoil it. Jennie was happy. Jisoo was too. That's all they ever wanted after all, the duo went through the past couple of days.
-
The five girls caught up with each other and were soon joined by both Kim families. Yeri and Rosé left shortly after to wash up but promised to come back later. The parents and Jisoo's siblings decided to go get something to eat, leaving Lisa, Ella and Jennie with the older girl.
"I'm going to get a drink. I'm parched." Jennie stated as she got up from her spot next to Jisoo. She looked down at the pale girl and raised an eyebrow. "Do you want anything?"
"Diet Coke, please." Lisa piped up.
"I asked Jisoo." Jennie sassed.
"Rude." The Thai muttered making Jisoo cracked up.
"No thanks." She answered sweetly.
"I'll be back." Jennie assured before leaning down and kissing Jisoo on the side of her head.
"I'll come with you!" Lisa hopped off her chair and trailed behind her best friend.
"What about Ella?" Jennie lifted an eyebrow.
"She'll stay with Chu." Lisa replied casually.
The older sister looked over her teammate's shoulder and peeked at the small girl. "Hey, Ella. You okay with staying here to make sure Chu is okay?"
"Yeah." Ella nodded, her eyes glued to her Nintendo. That device had consumed the little girl's attention since she got to the hospital.
"Watch her for me!" Jennie called before she was pushed out of the room by her tall teammate.
"'Kay!" Ella yelled back. When the door clicked, the little brunette snapped her device close and scurried next to Jisoo.
"Hey Ella." The older girl arched an eyebrow suddenly confused on the little girl's actions. She rotated her body to face the small Kim.
"So are you and Nini... like dating now?" Ella questioned, folding her small arms on top of Jisoo's bed and resting her chin on it.
"I guess so..." Jisoo replied unsurely.
"Is she your girlfriend now?"
"I- uh... I'm not sure."
"But you guys love each other."
"We do."
"Okay, then why don't you know if you guys are girlfriends?"
"It's more complicated than that, love."
Ella knitted her eyebrows together and frowned. "I don't think it's complicated."
Jisoo chuckled softly at the innocence the little girl was radiating. She signaled the little girl to climb the bed, which Ella did with no problem.
"Why isn't it complicated, Ms. Ella?" She rasped.
"Because if two people love each other then they should be together." The youngest Kim deadpanned. "I don't know why it took you guys this long to figure out but I think you should seize this moment. Don't waste anymore time. Nini said you guys aren't 'official' because you like to do things old fashion... whatever that means. Lisa said you guys were girlfriends."
"Wow." Jisoo was taken back at how eloquent the little girl spoke. She couldn't believe a fourth grader was telling her what to do. "Hmm. Don't believe anything Lisa tells you, El. But you know what... I will seize the moment. Hand me that pen and paper over there."
Ella brightened up and scrambled off the bed. She went to the desk and picked up the objects she was told to get. Then ran back to Jisoo.
"Here." Shimmering chocolate orbs looked up at the athlete. "What are you going to do?"
"You'll see, little one."
-
Lisa draped her arm around Jennie's shoulders as they strolled to the cafeteria. The walk there was long enough for her to interrogate her best friend.
"So... are you and Jisoo like ,official now?" The taller girl asked in a nonchalant manner.
"If you're asking about labels. No, we aren't." Jennie sighed. "We haven't even gone on a first date."
"Well, I mean with the circumstances. I don't think you'll have one anytime soon." Lisa said deliberately.
"I know." Jennie ran her hand through her wavy locks and turned to Lisa. "I think Prom is off the plate too."
"WHAT!" The Thai exclaimed. "NINI NO! We've already discussed everything. It's all set."
"Lisa, Prom is this Saturday. Jisoo is still in the hospital and even if she's already out by then, no way in hell I'm making her go in her condition." The brunette glowered. "And before you say it I'm not going without her."
"Nini, this is PROM!" Lisa argued.
"It's a just dance, Lisa." Jennie lied. It wasn't just a dance to her and Lisa knew. Heck, everyone knew even Irene. She's been dreaming about Prom ever since sophomore with Taeyang and Hyorin as her models. It was a night to remember. She's already picked her dress and requested a limo for the date.
"Jisoo's not going to like this. You know she's going to push you to go." Lisa warned.
"But I won't. I'm staying with Jisoo, end of conversation." The shorter girl huffed and walked ahead of Lisa.
"Nini, wait!" She heard. The middle sprinted to catch up with the brunette. "Hey, I didn't mean to stress you out. But we all know Prom is your thing. You've been planning this even before you and Jisoo were together. She knows this means a lot to you."
"Look. I'm sorry I snapped." Jennie uttered. She locked eyes with the tall girl and breathed in. "It's just that, Jisoo's more important to me than a dance. I know that now and even though I've invested a lot for Prom, I can't leave her. Not again.
-
Jennie was on her stomach in Jisoo's bed scrolling through Prom pictures recently posted by the seniors while Jisoo laid beside her doing homework. The smaller girl fawned over the beautiful and exquisite gowns that the girls wore. She always dreamed about having the perfect dress and going to Prom.
"Hyorin looks amazing." Jennie gushed as she clicked at the senior's pictures. "I love her dress."
Jisoo lifted her gaze from her notes to the laptop and smiled. The picture had Taeyang, with a black suit and tie, staring at Hyorin who wore a white dress that flowed down, slightly dragging on the ground. The image then switched to Taeyang picking up the small portion of the dress off the ground as the couple walked to their limo.
"Aww look at Taeyang." The brown-eyed girl raved. "Such a gentleman." Her best friend looked at her funny and shook her head.
"What?" Jennie challenged.
"Nothing." Jisoo remarked.
"Bullshit. Tell me."
"It's just that. Why are you looking at Prom pictures? You should be studying."
"It's always studying with you."
"I'm sorry I care about my college education."
"I do too!" Jennie hit Jisooin her arm and shot daggers on her way. She shifted her attention back to the laptop and kept clicking away. "Prom season just gets me every time. I can't wait for ours. Perfect dress. Limo. Dancing. It's a night I'll never forget."
The pale girl just listened to Jennie enthused about the dance. She herself never really cared about that stuff but hearing the girl she fell in love with talk about it with so much passion made her want to go.
"You know what would make my prom?"Jisoo asked with an impish grin.
Jennie rolled her eyes and dramatically flipped her hair as she faced Jisoo. "Please do tell, Ms. Kim."
"If I spent it with you."
