《A Bromance to Remember》Nightmares

George woke up in a cold sweat. He hadn't thought about how the stress would be treating his sleep.
He had been having occasional nightmares, but none this bad. This one felt so real.
He stretched a bit and immediately regretted falling asleep in that god awful hospital chair.
He looked up towards the head of the bed, and sure enough, Sapnap was still dead asleep.
I had better try and get some more rest George thought, settling his head down on the cold hospital sheets once more. He closed his eyes, but the images of his nightmare just kept playing through his mind.
George immediately was sucked into a flashback.
He opened his eyes as he sat up in his bed. The sun was casting a faint glow on his bed. He climbed out of bed, and decided to go downstairs for some breakfast.
George knew exactly where he was, but he couldn't stop the memory from playing.
He grabbed the stair rail and felt the comfort of the hard oak wood under his hand. Even though George has felt this railing almost every day, it still was a a nice reminder that he was home.
When he reached the bottom of the stairs, he immediately regretted not putting on socks as he stepped onto the cold tile floor that led into the kitchen.
No matter, he padded into the kitchen anyways and grabbed a bowl from the cabinet. He then poured some cereal and walked towards the refrigerator to grab the milk.
As he was opening the fridge, he heard a knock on the front door of the house.
That's strange, George thought as he poured his milk.
The knock rung out throughout the house once more, so George made his way to the door.
He opened the door, his cereal still in his grasp. When he saw who was standing on his doorstep, he was taken back.

"Are you related to Mr. Phil NotFound?" asked the police officer.
Naturally, George said,
"I'm his son. Is everything okay?"
The 2 officers exchanged a nervous glance, then turned back to face George.
"Your father..." he began, a look of dread on his face. "We discovered his body in lake Mitochona this morning."
George dropped the cereal. He felt the milk splatter all over his clothes and ankles, but he didn't care.
At that moment, George could hear his mom calling down the hall.
"George? George, who's here?" George tried to speak, but no words would come out.
George's mother stepped into the hallway and saw George standing in puddles of milk, still staring at the police officers in the doorway.
She didn't even have to ask. She looked at George, and immediately knew what was wrong.
George heard his mom crying, but he felt as though his body had shut off. He couldn't feel or hear anything. It was like his brain refused to accept what was happening.
George opened his eyes, realizing it was only a memory and that he was still in Sap's hospital room. He looked up to where there had once been a sleeping, peaceful boy and was faced with a look of concern.
"George..." Sap began.
"I'm... I'm fine." George snapped. He suddenly felt bad for snapping. "I'm sorry Sap. I just-"
"George," Sapnap interrupted, "it's okay," he said, a soothing tone to his voice. "Just know that if you want to talk about it, I am here for you."
George gave Sap a halfhearted smile, and then was hit with another pang of guilt. "Any news on Dream?" He asked.
"Nothing... yet," Sapnap replied, his eyes still filled with concern for George.
"On the brightside," he began. " I'm getting released hopefully by tonight."

George felt a little better.
"That's great!" he said, smiling more happily now.
"Say... do you want breakfast? I don't mind running down to the cafeteria to grab us some food."
Sapnap dramatically threw his head back onto the bed, the back of his hand resting on his forehead.
"I'm starving," he said, still in character.
George giggled a little, then left the room. He hoped onto the elevator and clicked the button for the 3rd floor. He had thought about taking the stairs, but with his aches and pains, he decided going down 5 stories may not be the greatest idea.
He walked into the cafeteria and was hit in the face by the wonderful smell of fresh cooked bacon. He began to speed walk towards the line, but had to stop when he bumped into someone.
"Excuse me!" She began, but then she saw George's face. Being that this young woman had been a nurse for 2 years, she recognized the look in his eyes almost immediately.
"I'm... so sorry," George managed to spit out.
"It's quite alright," she giggled, still facing George.
"Do you mind if I sit down with you once you get your food?"
George's mind was racing. Why does she want to sit with me? Is she going to pour coffee on my head? Will she smash my face into my oatmeal?
After taking a deep breath, he just said,
"Sure. Be my guest."
George was through the line fairly quickly. He decided he would grab Sapnap's food after he talked with this new character.
They sat down at a table towards the corner of the cafeteria.
"So," she began in an attempt to break the silence. "Who are you here for?"
"What makes you say I'm not the one who was injured," said George.
"I never said you weren't injured, but I can tell by the look in your eyes that you are worried about someone."
George sighed, and began to tell the young woman the story. About meeting Dream, flying to Florida, and eventually, the accident,
She listened well, only occasionally interrupting to ask a question, such as,
"What made you decide to come to Florida?" and, "how are you holding up during all of this?"
George hadn't realized it, but he really had needed someone to talk to. After about 20 minutes of eating and talking, George remembered Sapnap's breakfast.
"Crap..." he muttered under his breath.
"What is it?" Asked the nurse.
" I was supposed to take my friend his breakfast and I kinda forgot," he said with a chuckle.
"Hey, I know you need to get going, but do you want my phone number in case you need to talk about anything else?" she asked, using a gentle tone.
"I... would like that," George said, showing her a faint smile.
She finished entering her number and handed George his phone.
As she started to leave, George called out to her.
"Wait!" he said.
She turned around, and George just said,
"I never caught your name."
She paused for a moment, considering what the European boy had said.
"Monica," she said, and once again turned towards the door.

The Cosmic Interloper
Synopsis: A cyborg transhuman escapes her corporate indenture and through unfathomably unlikely circumstances, she ends up in a fantasy world of full of unique magic, angry people with sharp implements, and the whole flavor-spectrum of divine entities. Hilarity ensues. Features: - No blue boxes or cultivation, this is not a LitRPG nor about martial arts - Hard-ish Sci-Fi meets hard-ish magic - Generally trying to keep this "rational" Rationale: My primary goal with The Cosmic Interloper is to write something that I myself would enjoy reading. Of course, that’s not the only motivation, but I think it’s the most important one for me to keep in mind, especially as the author. In fact, this whole story came about because after consuming oodles of fiction, I found myself craving a very specific type of story which I couldn’t find many examples of. Then I asked myself, “why not write it myself?” and here we are. Disclaimer: In general, while I’m not writing a comedy, I do intend for this story to be funny and a bit wacky or absurd. That said though, I am using this story as a vehicle to explore some potentially dark topics including (but not limited to) slavery, speciesism/racism, and existential questions of self, consciousness, and identity. Still, I’m going to leave the “traumatizing content” tags off, because I don’t feel that what I’ve written so far (or plan on writing) exceeds the threshold that would be necessary for me to tag it thusly. Also, [insert your favorite boilerplate “views expressed” disclaimer here]. I shouldn’t need to say this, but the main character can be wrong on occasion (gasp!) and the way she views the world is not the objective truth (if such a thing even exists).

Meg The Heavenly Merchant
Updates once a week.(This is a rough draft) Author's Note: This story has grown in ways I did not predict and while it still features a merchant those aspects have gotten less page time than the fighting and romance elements. I have updated the description to represent the story better) For the past fourteen years Meg has dedicated herself to walking the path of a Heavenly Dragon Knight in her favorite videogame, Tattered Realms:Chaos Age. But now the game is shutting down and everyone wants to know what she plans to do for the sequel. Meg isn't sure at first. She knows only that she yearns for the days when she could lose herself in a game without worrying about boss strategies and crushing her rivals. And when her friend suggests playing a merchant her heart is filled with the same wanderlust and inspiration that launched her gaming career in the first place. But if she isn't dominating dungeons and setting records will people still watch her play? And can she really walk away from all the fighting for a quiet life of buying and selling?

Ashes of Heaven
Han Xuhan, our protagonist, is an ordinary mortal orphan who sets out on a journey to become immortal by joining a sect. Turns out he might not be our protagonist. Aaaand, his journey might have been fabricated. Also, it seems like he isn't really an ordinary mortal. Oh, who am I kidding? It's obvious at this point. That entire first sentence was a lie. Let us pretend that sentence doesn't exist there. Sadly, he hasn't exactly been informed of that fact. So we get to watch him trudge on his path as a cultivator. How long will he survive in a xianxia world by relying only on his dao of meta? Oh? Does that plot feel predictable? Fine! Let us pretend the dao of meta doesn't exist either; such a simple solution to a simple problem, unlike the issues Han Xuhan shall face from the get-go.
