"Thank you guys so much for coming." I've been saying for what feels like an hour to everyone that walked into our backyard.
All of our guests placed some presents on a table by the house. Everyone was spread out around the yard, socializing with each other.
Ethan finally walked out of the house with a food platter in his hand and his sister Cameron right behind him with another platter of food.
They placed the food on another table across the yard. I began to walk over to them while saying hello to people as I went by.
Ethan put his arm around my shoulder and kissed my forehead.
"Cameron everything looks amazing." I said. "You did a perfect job."
"Good, I'm glad you like it." She smiled and began to walk into the house again to figure out a few small things.
Cameron had set up this entire party with the help of Lisa. There were blue and pink streamers around the backyard. Blue and pink plates, cups and napkins.
Ethan and I walked around the backyard to have a few conversations. Everyone was wearing all white for our gender reveal later in the day.
"Hey." We walked up to Matt and Riley as they were talking with Ethan's parents.
"Hey!" Riley smiled brightly as her son Dre tugged on her leg. "Are you excited?" She nudged me.
"I'm excited to get my girl!" I looked up at Ethan.
"And I'm excited to get my little boy." Ethan looked over to Matthew.
"No, but I'm really excited." I ended the joking.
I looked down and saw Dre walking up Ethan. He tugged on Ethan's white pants. He knelt down to Dre.
"You're looking good buddy." Ethan smoothed down Dre's white clothing.

"Mommy picked it out!" He threw his hands up in the air.
"Aha, did she now?" He smiled and picked Dre up.
It made me smile that Ethan had such a great relationship with Dre. It just makes me even more excited to have this little kid.
"Are you excited to have a boy cousin?" Ethan asked and I lightly laughed.
"Or are you ready for a girlfriend." I leaned over and smiled.
Dre laughed and hid his face in Ethan's neck as he was embarrassed. I smiled as well and looked at the others again.
I looked over across the yard and saw Grayson sitting by himself on a little bench we had hidden behind some big bushes-I could just barely see him.
"I'll be right back." I said to everyone and they nodded.
I walked passed everyone and up the stone steps and sat right next to Grayson.
"Hey." I said.
"Hi." He responded lightly.
"Are you doing okay?"
"I'm surviving." He shrugged his shoulders. "Vivian came over just a half hour ago to drop off River and I didn't know what to do."
"Did you say anything to her?"
"I couldn't say anything. I could barely even look at her." He looked down at his lap.
I didn't say anything for a couple moments.
"It just hurts so much, Jordyn." He sighed.
"I know." I whispered and put my hand on his back. "I'm truly sorry, Grayson."
"It's not your fault." He took in a deep breath and looked up. "I'll get over it."
I stood up off of the bench and held out my hand for him to grab. He gladly took it and I pulled him closer to me.

"It'll get better, I promise." I whispered while my arms were around his neck and his arms were around my torso.
"Thank you." He let out a light sigh and pulled away. "I don't want to be a huge bummer on this party. This is all about you and Ethan, go have fun."
I lightly smiled and dragged him back out to the rest of our guests.
"Daddy!" River came running across the yard and slammed her body against Grayson's legs.
"Hey, darlin'" He put his hand on her back. "Were you able to grab some food?"
"No." She shook her head and placed her hair over her eyes.
"Do you want some help?" He asked while smiling and she nodded. "I'll be right back." He said to me and he picked up River to take her over to the food table.
I headed back over to Ethan and the others. Ethan had placed Dre down on the ground and he trotted over to play with a couple other little toddlers.
"You okay?" Ethan places his arm around my waist and asked me softly.
"Yeah, just checking up on Grayson." I nodded.
"Hey, that was my job!" He joked and I lightly smiled.
It was really nice to have this party on this beautiful, sunny day with all of our family and friends. Most of Ethan's family was here, like his aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, all of them and lots of our friends were here with their little kids.
This was already going perfect and we haven't even been surprised with the baby's gender yet.
It was the only thing I've been thinking about, except for Grayson obviously. I'm just so excited to finally figure out who we're going to have.

Authors note: I will release 1 chapter a week. Please rate / comment, if there are suggestions for plot and character that i like i will incorporate them into the story. I will post a chapter and edit later so apologies for small errors. Gets the chapter up quicker. This novel is a futuristic VMMORP with a twist, set in a dystopian Australian future in 3040. The main character is Braizo Nakamura, a 17 year old Japanese / Aboriginal Australian teenager who is confined in solitary confinement for life years in one Australia's toughest adult prisons. The worlds first murderer for 100 years, Braizo is crippled by an abnormality in his brain which prevents him using any neural implants or tech. Locked away since he was 14 for a revenge killing, without contact with another human being, Braizo has no idea of the change that swept the world only months after his incarceration. It was in 2077 that the great spaceship of the Warden appeared over the skies of earth and revealed a shocking truth, not only were human beings not alone in the universe, but their countless humans spread across millions of galaxies. The branch of humanity on earth was merely part of an old, thought to be extinct bloodline. The Warden had sought to use this bloodline for his own purposes as part of the Great Game, a fully immersive virtual reality world that was created by an unknown entity billions of years in the past. The Great Game was now populated by players from millions of different civilisations across countless galaxies. Braizo is forced into the Great Game by an old enemy in an attempt to kill him, but instead of dying Braizo receives a special ability that is both a curse and a blessing. So begins his adventures in the Great Game.
