《I Don't Like You - Beomgyu x Taehyun》XII

He felt someone shaking his shoulder and tried his best to ignore them, hoping to go back to sleep. "Beomgyu," the person hit him this time, "It's important." Groaning, Beomgyu pulled the covers away from his face and made eye contact with an anxious Kai.
"What is it?" the older sat himself up, rubbing his eyes.
"It's Taehyun," Kai fiddled with his fingers, "Have you seen him? When I woke up he was gone and he's not answering his phone."
"Oh," Beomgyu blanked out for a second before laying back down, "He left."
"He left?" Kai furrowed his brows, obviously upset, "Why?"
"I think he said something about shopping, I don't really remember, sorry," Beomgyu said before covering himself back up.
"I think the other two are still asleep," Kai sat down next to Beomgyu, taking some of the blanket for himself, "Did you sleep well?"
"For the most part," the golden brown haired boy shrugged, his upper body uncovered once again, "I've been up for about an hour and haven't been able to fall back asleep."
"Really? How come?" the taller tilted his head.
"Umm," Beomgyu shook his head, "I don't know."
"Something tells me you do know," Kai cocked an eyebrow. Beomgyu blinked a few times not really knowing how to respond. "You don't have to tell me but if you need someone to talk to I'm here," he smiled.
"Well," Beomgyu let his gaze wander around the room, focusing on the antique paintings hanging behind his friend, "I guess there's two things."
"I'm listening," Kai pulled his knees to his chest, resting his head on the side of the couch.
"The first thing is you," Beomgyu bit his lip, "Sorry that sounded really rude."
"It's ok," Kai let out a small chuckle, "Is it about yesterday? I did promise to talk to you about it."
"Yeah," Beomgyu slowly shook his head, "Did I upset you somehow? My first guess it that you were having a bad day but you were acting normal towards everyone else."
"I wasn't upset at you I was upset at everyone else, but it was all because of you. Does that make sense?" Kai tilted his head. The older shook his head. "I'm lonely," the younger finally admitted, "Lately you guys never seem to want to hang out with me."
"That's not true," Beomgyu frowned.
"Yeah sure it's not," Kai rolled his eyes, "I was surprised you guys even came over last night."
"Why would you think that?" the other asked.
"You guys are always pushing me away, at lunch, during class, in practice, even outside of school," Kai grit his teeth, "How am I supposed to feel when my only friends don't even want to hang out with me? Don't answer that because I already know-I feel unwanted."
"Kai I'm so sorry," Beomgyu sat up in attempt to get closer to the younger, "I never meant for you to feel like that. I really care for you, we all do."

"I know it's just," Kai let out a huffed, "Lately it doesn't seem like it. Everyone only seems to care about you." he laid his head on the older's shoulder, "You know, I asked the others, I think it was the day before yesterday, if they wanted to hang out and all three of them said no because of something to do with you."
"That's weird," Beomgyu pushed back his hair, "I think I was only with Taehyun that day."
Kai shrugged, "Soobin said he was making something for you and I think Yeonjun wanted to call you."
"Oh yeah," Beomgyu sighed, "I'm really sorry."
"You better be," Kai laughed, "I'm just kidding, I should be the one apologizing. I was lonely and jealous and instead of trying to talk to you I took out my emotions on you."
"It's alright," Beomgyu pet the younger's head, "If I was in your position I'd probably act the same way."
"Yeah," Kai smiled.
"How about we do something, just the two of us?" Beomgyu suggested.
Kai looked up at him with bright eyes, "You mean it?"
"Of course!" Beomgyu laughed, "We can go some day after our concert and you can pick out what we do."
"I'm so excited," Kai pulled Beomgyu into a hug, "Thank you." The older just nodded and after a few second Kai pulled away, "So what's the other thing that's making you upset?"
"It's Taehyun," Beomgyu confessed.
"I should have known," Kai giggled.
"Yeah it's kinda obvious at this point," Beomgyu smiled, "Anyways something happened before he left."
"Ooooh what happened?" the younger cuddled a pillow, wanting to hear what happened next.
"Well I was in the kitchen and he found me and then he-" The sound of glass shattering caught both of their attentions, followed by Yeonjun yelling something.
"What's going on?" Kai shot up in a panicked state.
"I'm a bit scared to find out," Beomgyu laughed nervously.
"Let go of me!" the could hear Yeonjun repeat that phrase several times.
"No we have to find them," Soobin stated, "Come on."
"Please, no, seriously Soobin leave me alone." The two continued their fighting until they eventually made their way down the stairs.
"There you are," Soobin rushed over to the other two boys, dragging Yeonjun behind him, "Kai where's your first aid kit?"
"What? Why?" it took the younger a minute to realize what was going on, "Oh my God, Yeonjun!" The eldest had a large piece of glass in the arm Soobin wasn't holding and was obviously in pain by the fast tears streaming his face and his heavy breathing. Yeonjun didn't say anything, as he kept trying to pull away from Soobin's grasp.
"Please can you get it?" Soobin pleaded.
"Yes! Sorry give me one second," Kai ran off and returned with the white box, handing it to Soobin.
"Thank you so much." Soobin looked back at Yeonjun, "Sit, let me help you."

Yeonjun shook his head, "I-I can do it myself!" He tried to reach out for the kit but pulled back at the sharp pain.
"Now's not the time to worry about personal conflicts," Soobin tightened his grip, "Getting your wound fixed is more important." Yeonjun whined, he knew he was right but he didn't want to admit it.
"If you'd feel more comfortable with someone else, I can help you," Kai offered, "I learned how to take care of cuts like those in health class."
Yeonjun quickly shook his head, "Please." Soobin reluctantly let go of Yeonjun and handed Kai back the first aid kit.
"We'll be back soon," Kai led Yeonjun to a different room.
"Soobin," Beomgyu hesitated, "Soobin what happened?"
"I didn't mean to," Soobin said softly.
"What?" Beomgyu stood up.
"I didn't mean to hurt him," the older repeated a little louder, his voice shaking, "It was an accident."
"What was an accident?" Beomgyu cautiously asked, rubbing his back.
"I threw my glass. I didn't aim for him but he just-" Soobin hid his face in his hands.
"What glass?" Beomgyu questioned him, "Why did you throw it?"
Soobin put his arms back down by his sides, "I got a glass of water at some point last night, but that doesn't really matter. My phone was going off a lot this morning and I slept through it because I'm a heavy sleeper, but Yeonjun isn't. He got up and went through my phone and woke me up, accusing me of things that weren't true. I tried to calm him down, I tried to talk to him but no matter what I tried he wouldn't listen. He knows my temper is bad but he didn't stop yelling at me and I just snapped. I threw my glass down at the ground but I guess the sound scared him because he fell over and his arm landed in some of the shards."
"Wow," Beomgyu gulped, "What was he accusing you of?"
"It doesn't matter because it isn't true," Soobin shook his head, causing Beomgyu's curiosity to grow even stronger but he knew it wasn't his place.
"I'm sure he'll be alright and once he's calmed down you can try talking to him again," Beomgyu tried his best to reassure him.
"I hope so," the taller looked down at his feet.
"Do you wanna sit down or something?" Beomgyu asked trying to lighten the mood, "I can get you a snack or something to drink while we wait."
"I'm ok, thanks though." The two stood there for a while, hoping the other two would come back soon. Beomgyu didn't know how much longer he could stand there, he was worried about Yeonjun, and the tension was unbearable, almost suffocating. After a few minutes Kai and Yeonjun returned. The glass was gone and Yeonjun's arm was wrapped securely in a bandage.
Soobin let out a breath he didn't even know he was holding, "How are you feeling?"
"How do you think?" the older asked sarcastically, examining his arm.
"Are you going to be able to drive home by yourself?" Kai asked warily and Yeonjun nodded.
"You're leaving?" Beomgyu frowned.
"I just want some time to myself," Yeonjun took his belongings from Kai, "I'll see you guys again in a few hours anyways for school."
"Ok, well try to get some rest," the shorter smiled at him.
"That's the plan," Yeonjun waved them off before leaving.
"And then there were three," Kai watched as Yeonjun drove off.
"Two actually," Soobin coughed, "Sorry, I have to meet up with someone. It's important."
"Right now?" Beomgyu scowled.
"In about forty-five minutes, but it'll take me a while to get there," Soobin shrugged.
"Have fun I guess," Kai slumped down on the couch.
"Yeah because meetings are so fun," Soobin laughed, "I'll see you guys later."
"Bye Soobin," Beomgyu waved as he left.
"Yikes," Kai broke the silence once Soobin was gone.
"Big yikes," Beomgyu laughed, "I feel bad for Soobin."
"Really?" Kai gasped, "I thought you'd be the most mad at him."
"Why would I be?" Beomgyu let out a short breath.
"Didn't Soobin tell you what happened?" Kai tilted his head.
"Yeonjun saw something on his phone and started accusing him of things and then Soobin lost his temper," Beomgyu took a second to make sure he didn't miss anything, "Right?"
Kai furrowed his brows, "He didn't tell you what Yeonjun was so mad about?"
"N-no," Beomgyu slowly shook his head, "I asked him what Yeonjun was accusing my of and he told me not to worry about it. You're starting to worry me."
"Beomgyu, Soobin has been texting Jennie. According to Yeonjun that's who he's meeting with today."
-
Soobin walked around the train station, "Where is she?" he growled under his breath. He tried calling her for the third time and not surprisingly, she didn't pick up. Feeling defeated he sat down on the of benched and rested his head on his hands, "I shouldn't have came here."
After a few minutes, he felt a tap on his shoulder, "Were you looking for me?" Soobin looked up to be face to face with Jennie.
"About time," Soobin tsked, "Why didn't you answer my calls?"
Jennie pouted, "Don't get mad at me because you got here early."
"Whatever," Soobin moved his bag off the bench making room for Jennie to sit down, "Let's just get this over with."
"Geez someone's grumpy," Jennie whistled and took a seat next to Soobin, "What's on your mind, pretty boy?"
"Just Soobin is fine," he scrunched his face, "Anyways, this Beomgyu situation is making things really difficult."
"Really?" Jennie hummed, "You guys seem fine to me. The rumors settled down pretty quick. I honestly don't think Tomorrow by Together's reputation is gonna get hurt from it."
"I'm not talking about my group," Soobin said.
"Oh?" Jennie looked at him suprised.
"I'm talking about me," Soobin admitted, "Because of your lie Beomgyu and Taehyun are getting closer and I need you to help me fix it."
"Ahh, I get what you mean now," Jennie giggled, "Ok pretty boy, got any ideas?"

Shadows in the Dawn Mist
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] - Winner November 2020 When a young woman is lured back to her homeland for the opportunity of a life time, she must face old fears. But never would she think that facing up to her past would change everything. Is History written by the victors, or by someone or something else...? *** I started writing this a few years ago and eventually fell out of love with it. I never finished it and my newer books are being written in different writing style, and genre with a more planned process. I decided to revisit it for the writathon and found that it wasn't as hopeless as I'd come to think. Hopefully, I've improved as a writer since them so the consistency may vary. Its been good to revisit and analyse my writing which I feel used to have some clunky and obvious dialogue which I'm trying to fix. This will always be my first novel and I hope, with a little exposure, I may come to like it again. Thanks for reading!

Author’s disclaimer: Hey there this is my first novel so any criticism will be well taken though beware I’m a million-year-old monster who has cultivated the way of the sword to the peak. The daily life of a cultivation judge will be true to its name so it will be heavily on the slice of life lane with a bit of action here and there.Meaning we will see the life of Yang Qing when he clocks in and out. Hopefully, it will be one of those novels you read if you need to relax or are in a slacker mood like one of those otakus who listen to the noises of cicadas in the summer famously used in most animes. And it is in the slacker spirit that chapter release will be on Wednesday,Thursday and Friday. Sank yuuu Cover art by Conny Schneider on Unsplash
