"I'm sorry, but so far I haven't been able to detect any historical alteration that would indicate Mr. Hunter was stranded in a time." Nate explained as they all stood around the control panel in the main bridge of the ship.

Callie had placed the boy and arrow back in the armoury, catching Sara up on everything that had happened since she last visited them all. The two girls stood side by side, and the rest of the team would have been lying if they said it wasn't intimidating to see.

"Uh, why don't we ask Gideon where he is?" Ray suggested, so simple that Nate was confused as to why he hadn't thought of it - until he realised he didn't know of a Gideon.

"Who's Gideon?" Nate asked, looking around them all confused.

"Greetings, Dr. Heywood. I am the ship's artificial consciousness." A holographic image of a woman's head appeared on the table in front of him, and he surprisingly found himself not surprised by this.

Sara noticed the slight twitch in Callie's fingers as she tried to adjust to everything that was happening. Subtly grabbing on to the girl's hand below the table, she felt Callie relax at the comfort of her friend.

"Gideon, we need you to tell us where Rip is." Sara exclaimed, glad to see the hologram.

"I'm afraid I have no idea, but I would be happy to play his final message for you all." Gideon echoed, and they all shared confused looks.

"Final message?" Jax asked, not sure what that was supposed to mean. They all spun around to face the captains office as a holographic image of Rip appeared at the door way.

"Sorry for stranding you all throughout history, but it was the only way to save you. Well, you know what they say, Captain must never abandon his ship. Well, neither shall I abandon hope of seeing you all again someday, somewhere in time. As flawed and unruly as you are individually, together you are the best crew, the best team a captain could ever hope for. So... stick together. And remember, history is yours now, my dear Legends. Good luck."

As they sent Martin, Nate and Mick off to make a slight change in the history of the planet, Sara found Callie in the spare room that she would be staying in while they embarked on their travels. The raven haired girl was looking at her phone, staring at a picture of Tommy and Laurel.

She was aware of Sara entering the room behind her, but didn't acknowledge her until she sat down on the bed beside her.

"He'd be proud of you," Sara spoke, knowing that Callie would never truly be able to get over the death of her twin brother. Sure, they had drifted when Callie had moved away to join the league of assassins, but they had an unconditional love.

Callie hummed in relief, before looking at Sara beside her. "She was so proud of you," Callie recalled, watching as Sara's eyes welled up slightly. They both hugged, inhaling in each other's scent before Jax burst in, informing them that the others were heading back.

"Ah, how'd it go with Einstein?" Ray asked, standing in clothes that matched the time period they were in. Callie and Sara stood with him, both wearing dresses that they knew if needed they would still be able to fight in.

"Good, until someone gives the Confederate Army machine guns or breaks Mozart's fingers, or..."

"One aberration at a time." Ray joked, walking next to Sara and Callie as they all began to walk back to the ship.

"Hey, remember that thing that I said before about you being a..." Sara started, nudging Ray with her shoulder slightly.

"Billionaire Boy Scout? You weren't all wrong." Ray admitted, looking at her.

"Yeah, but... you're more than that." Sara replied, a grin present on her face despite knowing that Callie was feeling remarkably like she was intruding on something.

"Thanks. And we'll get justice for Laurel, Sara, promise." He replied, turning to look at the rest.

"What do you guys say we get outta 1942?" Sara asked, rubbing her shoulder against Callie's as they all walked. Callie laughed lightly, causing Sara to grin at the slightly smaller girl.

They all froze as a gun clicked from behind them, causing them all to spin around.

"Not until you answer a few questions." A man in a brightly coloured suit yelled at them.

"We're the Justice Society of America." A woman in a brown and yellow suit continued.

"And you're coming with us." Another man in a suit finished, allowing the team to see a few more suited members appear in the alleyway ready to take them with them.

"Oh, my God. You're Commander Steel." Nate breathed, watching the man as he jumped down to land on the ground directly in front of them.

"Who the hell are you?" He replied, sizing up Nate.

"Whoa, whoa. Just relax. We're all friends here. Rex Tyler told us about the JSA. You guys are awesome." Ray butted in, trying to avoid any conflict between them all.

"Hey. The name's Jax." Callie and Sara rolled their eyes at Jax waved at the blonde girl across the gravel from them, knowing that he was trying to flirt.

"Rex never mentioned any of you." She smugly replied, watching as the grin fell straight off of Jax's face.

"Mind telling us what you were doing impersonating OSS agents?" Captain Steel asked, not having the time to listen to random chit chat between who they all thought could be Russian spies.

"It's quite simple, actually," Martin started, holding his hands up as he began talking. We were protecting Albert Einstein from Nazi agents who were attempting to kidnap him and force him to build an atomic bomb in the future!"

Callie sighed loudly, knowing that they already were certainly not going to take them seriously after that. Sara nudged her, trying to get her to have more faith in the team like she did.

"Time travel. It's... it's hard to explain." Nate grinned, still seemingly captivated by the suited man who stood in front of him.

"You can take all the time you need. In custody."

"Whoa, take it easy," Nate said, watching the Captain move his gun from side to side. "Let's talk for a minute. I mean, after all, you're my..." He was cut off by the gun smacking him across the face and sending him straight to the floor.

Callie groaned as they all lunged forward into a fight. She struggled against the man's gun as one of their team called out for someone to turn off the lights. Callie found herself knocked to the ground as a black blanket seemingly sucked all of the daylight from the sky above them, leaving her almost blind.

"We don't want to fight!" Ray yelled, being ignored by the society members.

Callie groaned as Sara landed on her, both of the assassins groaning in pain as the rest of the team also lay on the ground defeated by the JSA.

"Why did I agree to this?" She muttered, shoving Sara off her.

"You just had to mention time travel, didn't you?" Mick remarked, watching them all pace around the small barred area they were being held in.

"Yeah, well, at least he didn't throw the first punch." Ray replied, trying to defend his new-found friend.

"I'm perfectly capable of defending myself, Raymond." Stein replied, rolling his eyes at them.

"I'm pretty sure that you got knocked out by a teenager in a star-spangled leotard," Sara pointed out, rubbing at the wound on Callie's head with the tie that Ray had been wearing. When the girl had hit the ground, a rock had made a small cut on her.

"Her name's Stargirl. Did anybody catch her regular-person name?" Jax said, causing them all to roll their eyes at his behaviour.

"I'm surprised you didn't ask for her number," Callie muttered, causing Sara to let out a laugh.

"Oh, so it's my fault that we got our asses handed to us?" Jax growled at Callie, Sara putting a hand on his chest and lightly pushing him back.

"Look, they're just better coordinated than us," Ray replied, refusing to admit they lost.

"You guys, just listen to me for two..." Nate tried to start but was immediately shot down.

"Pretty, shut up. If I recall, you were late coming to the party," Mick replied, rolling his eyes.

___________

"Never laid eyes on them before in my life," Rex said as he watched them all argue amongst themselves.

"They seemed quite adamant that they knew you."

"Believe me, if I'd met this bunch, pretty sure I'd remember. What do you propose we do with 'em?" He asked the rest of his team, as they all watched Sara begin to push Mick away from Callie who was being held back by Jax.

"If I may be so bold, sir, I say we find the darkest hole in Leavenworth and throw away the key," Amaya noted, looking at them in disgust.

"I say we ship 'em to the boys in Bellevue Mental Hospital," Captain Steel replied, not sure what they were actually witnessing.

"I suppose before we do anything, we ought to question them," Rex admitted, moving away from the TV screen to turn it off. "If we can even manage to get a word in."

____________

"I don't understand why they were tracking us in the first place," Ray said, confused about it.

"Because they're the Justice Society of America, the single greatest secret force this country has ever known," Nate replied, as it was apparently an obvious answer to no-one except him.

"If it's so secret, how do you know about them?" Callie argued, finally being able to pull herself away from Jax's hold.

"Because his Nazi handlers have briefed him, no doubt." Captain Steel said, appearing next to the metal bars they were all stuck inside.

"Look, I'm not a Nazi. I'm a historian!" Nate argued back, knowing there was only one way he could prove himself.

"Here we go with the time travel nonsense again." Amaya replied to Captain Steel, rolling his eyes.

"070233." Nate replied, causing the smirk to immediately drop from his face.

"What?"

"Those are numbers on your dog tags. They're not disclosed on any documents, military or otherwise." Nate explained, his eyes looking down at the ground before looking back up at Captain Steel.

"How do you know that?" He growled, not sure who this man was. Nate reached under his shirt, pulling out an identical set of dog tags.

"You gave these to your wife after the birth of your son in 1955. The dent in the front was from an assassin's bullet when you saved President Roosevelt in 1939. Your son passed them down to his son, me."

"Oh for god's sake," Callie threw her hands in the air looking around at the rest of them. "Anyone got anymore potential secrets that should have been revealed earlier to avoid this situation?"
