I walk up to hear Jazz music playing from outside on the streets and sit up, yawning. I look next to me and bite my lip with a genuine smile. I grab one of the sheets and stand up walking to the bathroom to have a shower. I just hope that today is a good day, it has to be, we deserve a good day.
Once i step out of the shower I throw on some black ripped jeans, heel boots, and a grey long sleeve shirt. I do a little makeup and curl my hair before walking out to see Klaus waking up.
"Good morning." I smile as he looks at me with a smirk.
"Morning. I see you showered without me." He says eyeing me up and down as I roll my eyes.
"Get dressed. Rebekah is home and I'm making breakfast." I say and start to walk out but stop as Klaus calls my name.
"Maddie. I enjoyed last night." I smile to myself and continue to walk out, putting a sway in my hips. "Tease." He mumbles as i walk to the kitchen and begin to make breakfast. I walk by the staircase and see Rebekah looking at her portrait from her original body. Klaus walks up from behind me as Rebekah doesn't spare him a glance.
"That is just not my chin, Nik." She tells him. "It was much more delicate."
"The only delicate thing about you, sister, is your ego." He says as he puts his hands behind his back.
"When placed beside the behemoth size of yours, certainly." Rebekah says back as Klaus and I laugh.
Elijah asks through the phone.
"There's not much to discuss, Elijah. Said she was Freya and then darted off into the night."
"Well, I met the girl in a mystical loony bin. She could be anyone telling any lie, but she did seem familiar somehow."
"Then how is she still alive, a question as ridiculous as it's possible solutions, given this family's annoying predilection for cheating death?" Klaus says angrily.
"I don't know, Nik. I'm just telling you what she said." Rebekah replies.
"All right, can we all just chill out." I say mostly talking to Klaus. I wouldn't have said anything but Kol is practically on his death bed now and I feel guilty that I haven't told Klaus but Kol asked me not to.
"Well, did you happen to ask if by some similar miracle, our aunt Dahlia lives, as well?" He asks her.
"I barely had a chance to process..."
"Because on the list of obvious questions, it would be nice to know if the woman who placed a curse on the first borns of this family is still breathing air." Klaus says loudly.
"Then let me turn back time and do it again to your liking, then." Rebekah yells back.
"Unless Hayley's husband-to-be starts flapping his gums. Perhaps I should take preventative measures and separate him from his head."
"Jackson won't jeopardize his own wedding and he won't go telling everyone about Hope." I tell Klaus calmly.
Rebekah looks at the phone before scoffing. "Hayley's getting married. Well, what in the hell else did I miss?" She asks as me and Klaus look at each other.
*
I heard yelling and began to walk into the study to see Klaus' back turned and Rebekah facing his. "This family makes me wanna murder people."
"I see my timing is as impeccable as usual." Kol says from beside me. Uh oh.

"Oh, the traitor thinks he can just waltz in here like he's welcome." Klaus says.
"As gracious as your apology better be, you're still getting one hell of a slap." Rebekah yells walking towards him.
"Wait, wait." Kol puts his hand out to stop her. "I understand the irony of what I'm about to say, but I came here because I need your help."
Klaus laughs as I glare slightly at him. "Think about how to undo your wicked, little body swap, and then we can talk about help." Rebekah says angrily.
"Rebekah..." I trail off but Kol walks towards Klaus.
"Look, you don't understand, Nik. Finn has locked me into this body, no more jumping. He's put a curse on me, Nik. I am dying." Kol tells them as I stay quiet. Klaus smiles as Rebekah crosses her arms like it's a joke. "You don't believe me."
"Well, you're hardly the champion of truth telling." Klaus says to him.
"Of course. Why would a brother expect his siblings to leap to his aid?" Kol asks looking to Rebekah as I watch sadly.
"Oh, spare me the pity party, Kol. Your recent actions merit a certain allowance for disbelief." Klaus tells him.
"Look, I know what I've done!" Kol yells towards Klaus. "But I won't apologize for trying to pull one over on you Bex. You deserved it, but I don't deserve to die," he tells her walking towards her. "Certainly not at the hands of my own family."
Klaus roughly turns Kol to face him. "What kind of con are you playing?"
"The con I hate the most...the truth." Kol says.
"He's not lying." Rebekah tells Klaus. "Even as a boy, Kol never lied once called out on the act. He may play dirty pool, but he's not lying."
Klaus gives Kol a dirty look before turning and walking away from Kol. "Nik, I was helping Marcel for Davina. Finn has got him. He's trying to get a secret out of him, something he thinks Marcel knows about you." I mentally kick myself for forgetting to mention that. Klaus' eyes look to Rebekah and I before looking back to Kol.
Kol looks back at us seeing Klaus do the same but Rebekah looks away from him and Kol looks back to Klaus in realization. "Huh. He's right, isn't he?"
"Marcel doesn't know anything about anything." Klaus tells his sick brother.
"Well, you better hope that that's true because, believe me, Finn has the means to get it out of him." Kol says making me let out a deep breath.
*
Since Rebekah is in a witches body, her and Kol begin a spell for something I wasn't exactly listening about. Kol sits in front of a map as Rebekah lights candles. I lean against the wall and watch with envy. Kol looks up and sees Klaus leaning against the wall beside me and decides to ask what I figured he would ask. "So what is the secret, anyway?"
"The term 'secret' implies something only known by those who have earned the right to be aware of it." He replies and gets up against the wall. "Start the spell."
"Well, it's easier said than done. Finn is channeling the power from our parents. He's a lot stronger than something some weak-old witch and I can do."
"Now hang on. I might not be trained, but I..." everything that Kol had put on the map flew off and Kol sighed dropping what he had in his hand. "Oh...blast."

"We need a stronger witch. Call Davina." Klaus tells Kol.
"No, no, no, no, no." Kol says in a rush standing up. I don't want her to know that I'm sick."
"Then do a bloody better job." Klaus says getting in his face.
"I just need time." Kol tells him back.
"Enough. Channel me. My magic may be...complicated but it's still there. It has to be." I say but Klaus continues to speak.
"The spell that Finn cast to lock you in your body, do you remember it?" He asked.
"Well, I was a little distracted by the murdery part." I roll my eyes towards Kol. Not helping.
"If we can use his own spell against him, once he's locked in his body, I can end our collective woes with a brief snap of the neck. All I need to do is pull it from your memory." Klaus says with a smirk.
"Oh, no. No." Kol backs away from Klaus. "I am not allowing anybody into my mind. Do you understand?"
"You came into my home asking for my help. This is it." He says walking closer to him. "It's not a request." Klaus grabs the sides of Kols head and gets into his mind. Klaus opens in mouth in shock and pulls away from him hurt and then angry.
"See?" Kol slowly puts his hand up thinking it will keep him safe. "I'm guessing just by the look on your face that it worked, but just listen-"
Kol didn't get to finish as Klaus grabs him and throws him against the wall as i wince.
"You come simpering for brotherly love, and the whole time, you're plotting against me with that damn dagger. Your no better than Finn." Klaus yells angrily.
Kol looks bewildered as he talks. "Ah, and you threatening me makes you better than Finn, does it?"
"Both of you, just stop it." Rebekah says standing up and I stay out of it and stay by the wall.
Kol stands up and I finally get a good look at the fresh cut on his forehead, "I came to you because your my family, but I see whilst you and Rebekah and Elijah all hand portraits and share secrets, I'm the odd one out. You want to know where Finn is? You want to find a way to kill him? Then you can figure it out yourself." Kol says angrily and uses his magic to make Klaus kneel is pain and Rebekah fly back on the chair, not hurting her human body, before walking out of the compound.
Rebekah gets out of the chair and walks towards Klaus. "Your stupid temper will be the end of you one day. Just know that." I ignore the two siblings and speed after Kol. I feel awful for him, and I feel for him, I mean for a while I felt left out with my brother. He was so focused on his pack and Hayley i felt like I didn't matter so I understand how he feels and if his siblings won't be there than I will. For me, for Davina, for Klaus. And for Kol.
I follow Kol to the cemetery and walk into some witch cave type thing and see Kol sitting on a sofa, tears rolling down his face and his hands behind his head. "Kol?" I say quietly. My eyes widen as I see his nose begin to bleed. I walk towards him and sit next to him as he brings his hand to his nose.
His phone starts to ring and he answers it angrily. "Are you calling to gloat, you venomous, venomous animal?"
"You've got my interest." Kol says as I bite my lip. Kols a thousand years old, he should know that there is no saving him from this one.
Kol stands up and walks to grab a diamond, inspecting it. "It would be my pleasure."
"Kol, wait." I say and stand up. "Look, I get you wanna get Klaus and if you wanna draw blood, I can't stop you and frankly, I get how you feel so I won't stop you but...Finn is lying to you. I'm a witch too, Kol. Born from a very powerful bloodline, you can't take the hex back and Finn can't reverse the spell he did locking you in that body which means..."
"There is no saving me." Kol mumbles as I nod, tears beginning to well up in my eyes.
"I'm sorry, Kol. I'm so sorry, but you will die in this body, and when you do I'm gonna find a way to bring you back, back into your own body so I can get to know the real you. Original Vampire. Troublemaker. So Davina can get to know the real you." I tell him. I see he's still angry but also accepting it.
We both walk out and I know Kol is going to draw Klaus' blood like Finn asked so I go with him, I want to make sure Klaus doesn't kill Kol and Kol doesn't do something stupid.
"But you need to remain calm." I hear Rebekah say.
"Our brother doesn't do calm." Kol says angrily and throws stuff in Rebekah's face making her pass out as i speed to catch her body. Klaus goes to walk toward Kol but Kol grips the diamond and sticks his hand out making Klaus bend over and blood ooze out of his mouth. "Oh, you're angry, are you? Well, join the party. I've been here 1000 years." Kol yells in pain.
Klaus goes to attack but Kol just uses more magic making him shake and Klaus drop. " I was building that dagger to protect myself against you, Nik. I'm not the bad guy in this chapter of our family's story. I'm the wronged. I'm the dead but never mourned, and whilst you got everything that you wanted, I got a family who didn't care if I lived or if I died."
"Oh, shut up." Klaus growls and pins Kol to the wall. "We've all suffered. We've all been wronged."
"Go on. Go on. Finish it off. Go on. Kill me." Kol repeated as I watched with worry and pain just looking at the sight. Klaus lets go of him and Kol drops to the ground.
"I'm not gonna kill you, you idiot." Klaus tells him. "Despite your behaviour, you're still my brother."
"Yeah, just the one you've daggered repeatedly." Kol says looking down.
"I've daggered all of you!" Klaus tells turning to face him. "Each for your own good. If you down agree with my motives, fine...I never claimed to be the bastion of temperance... but stop this drivel about being singled out and unloved. You are a Mikaelson. You're my blood," Klaus bends down to Kols level, "and I need you. I need you by my side."
"What does that even mean, Nik, hmm? You talk about family...family this, family that. I haven't even earned the right to share your secrets, have I?" Kol asks with tears.
"No. You haven't, but by all means, brother, prove yourself. It's not too late." Klaus tells him and holds out his hand for Kol, Kol takes it and stands up.
"Finn wants your blood. He promised to heal me if I delivered it." Kol admitted.
"You know where he is?" Klaus asks.
"You've got to tell me why he wants it. Look, Nik. You've got to trust me for once in your life, and I will stand by your side, I promise." Klaus looks at him in disbelief.
"You would risk your life to help me?" He asks.
"I know enough about dark magic to know that I'm hexed." Kol looks up my way. "It's been confirmed." Klaus looks my way too as I have a look of sadness on my face. I nod at Klaus telling him it's true. "There's no reversing what Finn's done to me, which makes him a murderer and a liar, and if I'm gonna die, I'll be dammed if he gets what he wants."
"Finn has been dead to me for a long time. Tonight I intend to make that official. Help me. Then I will share my secret with you." Klaus says quietly as Kol looks up at him.
"He'll be in the bell tower of the Saint Louis cathedral." Kol grabs Klaus' hands and puts them on his head. "Go inside my head. Find the spell. Let's finish this."
"Ahh!" I can't decide weather to smile or cry. Smile because Klaus is trusting Kol or cry because Kol is dying.
*
The four of us walk in the bell tower to an empty room. "Well, Where is he? Is this a trick?" Klaus asks looking to Kol.
"He said he'd be here, I swear." Kol tells him. "This is the remnant of a spell, ancient. It's impressive."
"Admire it's artistry later. Tell me what he's set in motion." Klaus demands.
"Please." I add for Klaus.
"Kol, what is that?" Rebekah asks pointing to a wooden thing on the table. Kol picks it up and grips it in his hands and starts chanting.
I walk behind him to take a look and gulp. I've read lots of things but I remember seeing that symbol. "Runic tiles. What's it mean?" Rebekah asks.
"It's a symbol...for baby." I say looking to Klaus.
Kol looks between the three of us. "That's it, isn't it? You're baby's still alive."
"Finn tricked us into running about all day thinking he was looking for a way to find Hope." Rebekah says.
"When he knew where she was all along." Klaus says looking up at us. Klaus immediately calls Elijah as I sigh. Of course. "Cami's not answering."
"Elijah will protect them." Rebekah assures Klaus.
"Finn is channeling both our parents. He's too strong." Klaus tells her.
"So break the link." I say like it's obvious.
"How do we do that?" Klaus asks Kol in a hurry.
"I can't sever the link, but there is something that we can try. It'll take power of our own...and a lot of it."
*
I was helping Kol as Rebekah stood not really doing anything expect arguing. "We can't get in without Finns blood."
"Well, how do we disrupt Finn from channeling our parents in there if we can't even get to the bloody binding circle?" Rebekah asks.
"We're not here to disrupt Finn's power. We're trying to overload it." Kol tells her.
"Are you daft? You want to make him stronger?" Rebekah.
"A witch can only ever channel so much power. After that, things get ugly. You literally start to disintegrate from the inside. He will either have to release the power or, well, let it kill him." I explain to her.
"But he won't be dead. He'll just body jump." Rebekah argues as I hold the bridge of my nose in annoyance.
"Yes, into a body 300 miles away from the niece that's he's trying to nab." Kol says looking back to her as she smiles.
"In case your wondering, this is the side of you I like." Rebekah says making him stand up.
"Look. I am...I'm gonna get you back into your body, Bex, if it's the last thing I do, I promise." He tells her making me smile at the cuteness of the siblings.
"Right now, just worry about how in blazes I'm gonna be any use to you whatsoever when I know nothing about magic." Rebekah says.
"You don't need to know anything about magic. I'm just gonna have to channel you." Klaus walks in the tomb we're in with a duffel bag. "Did you get me what I asked for?"
"Mystical artifacts and dark objects galore from my own personal collection garnered over 1000 years." Klaus says with a smug smile.
"I wondered where this has gone. Half this stuff is mine." I laugh as Kol says this. It's like their not vampires and just siblings arguing.
"There's more." Klaus takes a white oak stake from his jacket just as Kol drops a knife on the pile of objects. Kol looks up to see the stake and stands up.
"You want to trust me with this?" Kol asks him.
"Whatever you need." He responds and puts the stake in Kols hand. "Whatever it takes."
"All right. Let's get started." Kol puts the take between them as Rebekah and Kol put one hand on the tomb and their other hands connected while chanting. I was gonna let Kol channel me but he wouldn't for some reason.
As they chanted, Kol's nose started to bleed and they both get blown backwards a bit. "We're close. We just need something to put it over the top."
"Take me." Klaus says walking towards Kol.
"Klaus." I say wearily.
"I am a vampire-werewolf hybrid with 10 centuries of blood on my hands. Channel me." Klaus suggests to Kol but he shakes his head.
"No, Nik."
"You wanted my trust, brother." Klaus puts his hand on Kol's shoulder. "Here it is." He grabs papa tundes knife and puts it in Kol's hands and kneels. "Do not fail me."
Kol looks to Bekah as she nods and carves into Kaus' forehead and laying him down. I watch as Klaus' skin goes grey and veins crawl up his face and it reminds me of when Mikael almost killed him. The two of them both get into the position they were in before and continue to chant.
Kol and Rebekah yell as the tomb starts to shake violently before they fall back to the ground. Rebekah stands up and walks to Kol helping him up and hugging him. "You're a genius, you glorious bastard."
"I'm a little surprised it worked myself." He admits to her. He starts coughing controllably and bends over as I walk towards him.
"Kol?" Rebekah asks and grabs Kol's shoulder so he's facing her. ""Listen, I am not gonna let you die, you hear me...whatever it takes."

Apparently, even heaven had the odd clerical error. Which was not something Nathaniel Miller would have expected, and yet, that seemed to be exactly what had happened to him. The collector of souls seemed to have been given the wrong address, and instead of taking one Nathaniel Miller of the earth apparently right next door, he took Nate. They probably referred to all the fantasy elements and magic that seemed to be part of this world.
