That time the lock made a lot of noise. Looks like the window it is.

Luckily, there a ledge above the window that was below yours. It allowed a nice place to stand as the door to your apartment finally swung open.

You heard stuff being moved around, but it didn't sound violent.

At least they didn't completely trash the place.

Then it went quiet--until you heard the rodent start talking again. He had quite an accent.

"That's too bad. Seems as though Nick will have to tell us what was on that phone. Better hope you have good memory, old friend."

You heard them rustle around again and the door slam..

Whew.

Climbing back in, you walk over to observe the damage. Hopefully the landlord doesn't show up soon... the lock on the door is bent the wrong way and everything.

You dash back to the window to see them entering a limousine and speeding out of the apartment complex.

There was such a small window of time to hide, you're glad that you were able to escape them.

You worried what would happen to him... but, what could they want on Nick's phone?

You pulled the phone out of your pocket. Guess you could try to find out.

You flopped onto the couch that was not in its usual place. Nick's phone unlocked with a slide of your paw. He doesn't have a passcode on it? Interesting.

Before you could open the messages app, the screen changed and the phone began to vibrate.

Jade was calling.

You thumb the phone around in your paw, "To answer or not to answer... that is the question..."
