《Nick Wilde X Reader | A New Partner》Dunked On

The idea that getting into the fairgrounds would relieve you of heat wasn't necessarily true.
Still, the drink you had was very refreshing. Until... it was gone.
As you tossed it into a trash can nearby, Nick nudged you and pointed, "See that dunk tank over there?"
Looking over, a couple of game booths down, sat a large dunk tank with what looked like a hyena sitting above it.
"Is that a hyena?"
"Yeah, he's the best at annoying people. His laugh is notoriously obnoxious."
You both stopped before getting too close. Nick crossed his arms and frowned. The brown spotted hyena was hurling insults at anyone who walked past. Stuff like.. 'The girl you had last time was prettier!' and 'You're gonna eat all of that?'
After an insult he would laugh maniacally, nearly falling off of his platform. Sure it was annoying, but it was his job to piss everyone off; they'll be more willing to pay to try to hit him into the tank.
You and Nick watched as a meerkat tried her best to try to hit the tiny target that was 20ish feet away. She got close, but never actually managed to hit it.
The hyena started laughing again as she walked away, defeated. Poor meerkat couldn't spend all her tickets on the hyena.
"Wanna see him fall into the tank?"
"Ha, you think you could hit that?"
"Not necessarily. Just watch him, I'll be right back."
Nick looked around and then jogged off to the right behind some of the machinery. You didn't see him after that, but you figured what he was up to. He was going to trigger a release from the back of the tank.
The hyena would be really surprised by this and you were sure Wilde would want to see it afterward. So you pulled out your phone and got closer to record him. Luckily, the future dunk tank victim didn't notice you recording him.

With a yelp, the seat he was on swung back and he fell straight into the cold water. The crowd nearby cheered, especially the group of meerkats. He flailed around and climbed out, wondering what had happened.
As you put your phone down, Nick came out from behind a curtain nearby. He was trying to suppress the giant smile he had on his face.
"How was that?"
"Hilarious! I got it on video too, check it out."
Nick held his side and leaned onto you as he laughed, trying to mimic the hyena.
"Is that what you had planned?"
He sipped the last of his lemonade and shrugged. Guess it was.
"Anything else?"
He tossed the plastic cup away and bowed, "But of course!"
You gestured forward with your paw, "Well, lead on."

Unto Dark
A man of cripplingly ill mind, bridled with the spirits and regrets of the past. Wade Pierce trudges through each day of his monochrome existence, only as penance for his sins. Such a man is abruptly decamped of this world courtesy of unapologetic forces, left stranded in a realm filled with unknowns. Armed only with his potent yet fragile intellect, Wade advances into this new abyss, as he attempts to rewrite the wrongs he has committed. Plagued by vile beasts, self-righteous Gods, and even his own seething darkness, the cracks in his mind begin to spread and a dangerous, newfound power bubbles beneath the surface. As the world grows darker day by day, this unfortunate journey begins ------------ I suppose rectitude dictates that I should state any themes worthy of noting here. First of all, this story is not a sunshiny one in the slightest. Since it is listed under the psychological and mature tag and not the comedy tag, that shouldn't be a surprise. Next, morbidity is a factor and general apathy towards human life. All of these are common themes amongst other writers, so nothing new there. The story also contains consensual, and non-consensual sexual activity, although I have tried to be as tasteful as is possible for someone like myself. Finally, the pace is drawn-out, and the language is magniloquent at times. Not to mention, the chapters are quite lengthy. Don't expect to read this halfheartedly... Other than that, enjoy the story... There's nothing more important than that...
