《Hero Of Olympus》Conversing with Titans

You might be wondering what happens when one falls into the river Styx for a second time. Do they get the blessing again? Do they disintegrate? Do they get cursed? Does a god zap them for being OP?

Well, the answer is you get thrown out.

I was in the water for about a second before I was spat out.

As suspected, instead of making a heroic landing with one hand in front and the other behind, on both feet, I landed quite un-heroically. I landed face forward, smashing the left side of my cheek against the glassy river bank.

I felt the burning of the cuts as my blood came in contact with the air in Tartarus. I was already beginning to feel tired and my lungs were starting to burn.

I walked downwards, hoping to come across the river Phlegethon. Knowing Annabeth, she would probably guide my friends towards it in order to survive.

Thankfully, the river wasn't too far away. I hadn't yet come across any monsters, but my hand was in my pocket at all times.

I crouched by the bank of the river to try and spot any tracks or stains of blood on the glass left by my friends. As usual, I came up with nothing.

I huffed and decided to head towards either Damasen's hut, or the shrine of Hermes.

The problem was that I had no idea on where to go. This place was completely alien to me. The previous time, we had Bob to guide us. This time, there was no we and there was no Bob. It was just me.

I was starting to get extra fidgety and panicky. The memories of my previous visit started to come back to me. I looked around desperately for any of my friends or my dad or Athena. This place scared me.

My head snapped to my left at the sound of heavy foot steps. I knew that sound. Something big was coming my way, and the only beings big enough to have heavy footsteps were either the Giants or the Titans. Both were bad for me.

I didn't have the energy to fight a Titan.

I crept to a big rock that was jutting out and hid behind it, praying to the gods that I wouldn't be found.

I kept my breathing as shallow as possible.

The titan came into view. I remember seeing him last time. He had nearly walked into Annabeth and myself. It was Koios, the Titan of the North.

My heart was thumping against my rib cage, trying to jump out and let everyone know where I was.

Since we all know the Fates love me, you can guess that he looked right at me.

Those sharp and cruel eyes stared right into my soul.

I gulped. I couldn't fight him. I hated to admit it, but he was too strong. He had fully formed and his Titan aura seemed to be flaring all over the place.

He smirked at me and I was forced to come out of my cover.

"Sup," I said, not really knowing what else I was supposed to do.

"My, my, Percy Jackson, what an honour," he said sarcastically.

"You're Apollo and Artemis' grandaddy," I remembered.

I think I made a big mistake, because the titan scowled at me and growled under his breath.

Oops.

"You're one of the runts who put my mother to sleep," he growled. He seemed like one of those upset kids when their mom doesn't buy their favorite game or toy.

"You can't really blame me," I shot back. "What would you do if someone was planning to end your world?"

"Fight them off of course," he replied, "Not put them to sleep. Who puts their enemy to sleep?"

I hated to admit it but he had a valid point.

"Calm down husband," a voice came from our left.

I turned to find a female titan with auburn hair, volcanic black eyes and a proud face. It was Phoebe, the Titanes of the Oracle.

Koios' face lit up and he jogged over to her and crushed her in a hug.

I was shocked to see a Titan show affection.

Phoebe looked at me and nodded. "Our mother was not herself when she rose from her slumber. The Earth was once benevolent, loving and nurturing. If you remember, my mother was the one who helped Rhea hide baby Zeus. What the humans are doing to the earth is causing her to change."

"So she isn't actually a psycho killer lady?" I asked.

Koios growled, but was shushed by his wife. "No, she isn't. Koios, you know this as well. She favoured her other children, the giants," she said with venom in her voice. "She didn't care about her children ruling and taking care of the world. She just wanted the destruction of everything the humans built."

I sulked and sat down, not really knowing what to do.

"But she would've still given us a part to rule right?" Koios asked.

Phoebe looked down and shook her head. "We would've been under the rule of the giants. That's why our two brothers Krios and Hyperion were made to guard the doors of death while the Giants were in the upper world. The only reason we all reformed was because Tartarus made all monsters regenerate quicker so that his children could rise again. If not for that, we would've taken another century."

I sort of sympathised for the Titans. Their mother was showing favouritism towards her other kids.

"Who among our siblings are back?" Phoebe asked Koios.

"You, me, our daughters, Theia, Themis, Thetys and Oceanus," Koios replied glumly.

"The others?" She asked.

"Kronos will take another milenia or two, no idea about the others," Koios replied. All of his cheerfulness and boastfulness seemed have died away.

The Titans looked towards me curiously.

I stared at them for a second before realising that they were silently asking if I knew anything.

"Tartarus absorbed Krios, Hyperion and Bob into his armour or something," I said, my voice choking at Bob.

"Bob?" Phoebe asked curiously.

"Iapetus," Koios replied. "The demigod dumped him in the Lethe and wiped his memory."

"He remembered when he came back here," I said, looking down, thinking of his sacrifice. Now I was back here. "Briares is alive though," I added.

Both heads snapped towards my direction. "How?" They both questioned.

"Your brother ordered Kampê to guard him and convince him to join you guys. He disagreed. My friends and I broke him out and saved him. He needed a bit of convincing to have the will to live, but I cheated him in a game of rock paper scissors and made him help us."

"Why would he say no?" Phoebe asked.

"Kronos threw him and his brothers into Tartarus for waking him up in the morning," Koios said wincing. "How did you even beat him at rock paper scissors? It's impossible."

"What of his brothers?" Phoebe interupted.

I shook my head sadly. "He said they passed on."

Both Titans looked down.

"We must find our sisters and daughters," Phoebe said with determination. "You're coming with us demigod."

"Wait why the Tartarus are you even here?" Koios asked.

"Uh...my friends are missing from Earth and an unknown immortal teleported me here."

The couple exchanged glances and seemed to have a conversation with their eyes. There was fear expressed in both their eyes.

"We need ask the others about this, but if it's who I think it might be, there's a reason he doesn't want you there."

"We don't need to ask the others," Koios protested.

Phoebe just rolled her eyes. "You're just afraid they're going to tease you for still being here even though you formed before us."

"Am not," he shot back.

"Whatever, come along demigod."

As I followed the Titans, I realised just how much Koios and Phoebe were like their grandchildren Apollo and Artemis.
