The recollections of a pen and paper roleplaying game from the viewpoint of a single character within it's universe. Everything that takes place in the book was decided by dice and random numbers so that means all the epic shit that takes place had a realistic chance to blow up in my/our face(s), making this entire book that much more awesome. With that said Spike is known to indulge himself, and may have left out embarrassing moments or "bent the truth" to make himself seem more cool, but hey, that's role playing for you, deal with it and enjoy!
