《Lombardi - Finn Shelby》I Guess We're Staying

"Mum, dad. The other day a man showed up at our door, he called himself Milo Lombardi." I announced watching my parents smiles fall from their faces. They were shocked.
"He was wondering if you could tell us about him?" I said looking over to Finn.
"Rose, you've met Milo Lombardi? Does he know where you live?" My dad asked, he seemed... scared?
"Yeah why?" I wondered worryingly.
"Shit, listen. Milo is my child but he was born to a crazy mother. His mother tried to kill your mother and I. I think Milo might try and hurt you, he's batshit crazy." He continued. I frowned to Finn before panicking slowly.
"So he's going to try and kill Rose?" Finn clarified angrily, my father nodded.
"Maybe you should stay here for a couple days." My mum suggested and I nodded.
"Maybe it would be nice to be out of Birmingham for a bit." I said.
Just to clear things up if there is some confusion. I may be acting nice, but me and my parents are still not the best of friends. Some of my anger is still there but I'm willing to forgive them, only if they don't pull any shit again.
"I'll go get our things." Finn told me leaving the room.
"So have you guys changed your minds about Finn?" I asked hopeful for good answers but I didn't get a reply.
"Rose, I'll show you to your room, Gabriele go get Rose's old cot." My mum ordered. She took me upstairs and Finn came back in time to follow me.
We walked into my old room and the unwanted memories came back. It was the same as it was years ago, except there was no blood stains on the wooden floor and my bed was replaced with a double bed.

"You guys can stay here. We got rid of your small bed and got you a bigger one." She told us. "Here you go, I'll just go check on your father." She then left and John was now in my arms.
"I guess they don't like me still." Finn said glumly.
"I'm sorry, it's only my parents though, who cares?" I reassured him as he put our bags on the floor.
"This place hasn't changed," I told him sitting on my bed. "It was just there, where I watched my mum get shot," I added and Finn sat next to me wrapping his arm around me. He kissed my cheek looking around.
"I guess it's a bit weird that they replaced your bed before they knew you were coming." Finn said looking across the new bed.
"Weird coincidence, huh?" I agreed before lying John onto the bed.
Couple minutes later my dad walked in with a boy and placed it down in my room.
"Do you guys want to come done for dinner soon?" He asked docked the wooden frame to check if it was sturdy or not.
"Sure, I'll put John to sleep and then we can talk." I nodded standing up.
—
Finally the baby was asleep, me and Finn were sat at the dining table with my parents. It would be an understatement if I said it was awkward.
"So, I thought you guys were going to Italy?" I said breaking the silence.
"Well, we decided to stay, in case you needed us. Like you do now." My mum answered placing food onto the table. "Dig in." She said sitting down at her chair.
I grabbed some of the hot food and placed it on my plate with a fork. It was quiet again.

"Lovely cooking, Mrs Lombardi." Finn said being polite.
"Thank you Finn, call me Helen instead." She answered grinning widely, Finn nodded glancing towards me.
I carried on eating in the torturous silence until someone spoke up.
"So Finn, do you work?" My dad asked putting his fork down.
"Well yeah, I work for the Peaky Blinders." He told them becoming socially awkward.
"Oh, so you do illegal things then?" My dad asked again.
"Sure. I work with my brothers, most the time." He answered:
"Rose hunny, have you been involved with any of their activities?" my dad asked turning away from Finn.
"No I haven't." I lied straightening my posture. My dad nodded looking at his plate.
"That's good."
The silence soon crept up again, but was cut off by John crying upstairs. I dropped my fork and got up quickly.
"I better go check on the baby." I told them walking upstairs. I really hope they don't say anything to Finn.
I walked into my room seeing the fussy baby lifting his arms. I slowly walked over to him shushing him.
"What's the matter hm?" I rhetorically asked him. I picked him up and rocked him until he calmed down.
I stared around the darkened room, it was weird. Why would they get me an new bed if they don't know I was coming. I opened my old wardrobe and saw new clothes, including baby ones at the bottom:
Something was off.
I out John back into his cot and crept towards the door, I rushed downstairs and saw everyone was silent still.
I sat back in my chair and ate the rest of my food before it got cold. The silence was now becoming uncomfortable.
—
"Finn look," I whispered to him. We were now in my room and John was awake, and had been for a while, flopping his legs around.
I opened my wardrobe and showed him the clothes.
"They has to have known we were coming back, they bought me and John new clothes." I said searching through it.
"What?" He questioned looking at me.
"Do you think, that this." I said pointing around the room. "Has to do with Milo?" I asked becoming skeptical about the whole thing.
"I don't know Rose, but this is confusing me as well."

Living a Long Life as a Legend
Reincarnating into a game-like version of a medieval magical world was fine and all. A good blend of two enjoyable tropes. Lock wished he'd been born with a bunch of cheats sometimes, sure, but he could settle with being functionally immortal by abusing the system as well. All rights to the art belong to Stefan Koidl, you can find his works here

Good Guy Necromancer
Necromancers are murderous, repulsive, utterly ungodly creatures. And then there's Jerry. Jerry is a novice necromancer who treats his undead warmly, seeks to befriend people instead of harvest their bodies, and doesn't mind cracking a skull or two when needed. He genuinely is a good guy—too bad nobody believes him. Trying to discover his place in the world, Jerry will live great adventures. He will make friends, each unique in their own way, and together, they will travel through a variety of striking environments; from a tiny village, to the land of the dead, to a jolly archipelago, to a kingdom on a beanstalk. To save a world that shuns him, Jerry must stand against a large organization of arrogant, mighty wizards. He strives to become stronger while maintaining his kindness, only to realize that, maybe, gentle hearts make the greatest necromancers. This is the story of a delightful man in a harsh world—full of warmth, action, and wise-cracking bone puns. Chapters are usually 2-3k words, and updates are 3/week: Mon, Wed, Fri. If you're looking for another fun, action-packed adventure, check out Cultivator vs. System by yours truly, available on Kindle, KU, and Audible. But read Good Guy Necromancer first.
