Mario and Meggy arrived at the next galaxy, which was filled with penguins. One big penguin was the coach and at the front.
Coach: Are you a surfer too?
Mario: Surfe... what do you mean?
Coach: Manta ray surfer.
Meggy saw that manta rays swim above water, with which she can't swim in.
Meggy: No, no. I don't think I'm a surfer. But Mario is. I hope.
Mario: What?!
Coach: Oh, but this is your first time ray surfing, right? Well then, let me show you the ropes.
Mario: Meggy. What are you...
Meggy: You know I can't swim, Mario. It's all up to you this time so we can get this star. Okay, Mario.
Mario: Oh, alright, Meggy. I'll do it for you.
Meggy: You'll do great, Mario. I know it.
Mario went on the manta ray, as Coach was beside him telling him how to ride a manta ray.
15 minutes later...
Coach: Okay. That's all you need to know. Now give it a go on the course! You have to beat the course in under 90 seconds in order to get your reward.
Mario rode the manta ray over to the course.
Meggy: You can do it, Mario.
The countdown was starting.

Mario rode the manta ray over the course with these words in his head to keep him determined.
Mario (thoughts): The star is at the end of the course. You're doing this for Meggy.
The penguins were on the sidelines cheering him on.
After 1 minute, 29 seconds, and 99 milliseconds (yes, Mario didn't do that well, but he still did good), he finished the course as Meggy cheered and celebrated for him.
Mario went back to the Coach to see what he did.
Coach: You're under a millisecond under the qualifying time, but congratulations! You deserve a gold medal!
Coach got out the star as Meggy ran over to Mario and congratulated him for his success. She even kissed him for winning. They both got the star and got another step closer to their goal.
