《Human Race (Boyxboy) #1》Chapter Sixteen: The Escapee*

This was it, I had to escape now. No one was here, but I had to make this quick. He did say Erin was coming back after his lunch, and that wasn't too long ago. I could make it, I hope. I can be quite sneaky and nimble if only I had time.
I quickly went into his drawers pulling on some large shorts, tying the strings tight. I pulled on a large shirt removing the scratchy nightgown, and tied it with ribbon that I found on the desk.
I pulled on a cloak that I found in the large closet. The only way out was through the vent, I just hope the heat wasn't on. I opened it, prying my fingers underneath the cool metal. I didn't know where this vent led, but I was willing to find out. I had to try to escape; I had to get back to Sam.
I grabbed Mr. Bear tightly in my hand, and crawled into the vent space, crawling down on my hands and knees along the pathway. I took a left then a right, but stopped when I heard voices. They were faint and hard to hear but I knew it was the demon himself. I took in a large intake of breath, slowly shimming my way down the vent. I saw another vent up ahead, and hopefully it would lead somewhere other then this.
I kept on shimming until I reached it. I unlatched the latch, opening it slowly. I slowly crawled in, taking in my surroundings.
It was a large room but it's wasn't fancy like the others. The walls were a light peach pink, with little flower wall paper. The drapes and covers on the bed were a pale pink, almost white, with lots of pillows. The room was not as big as Orion's, but it was still big. It was definitely a girl's room, but the question was why did Orion have a girl's room in this hallway.
The desk was a light wood, but much smaller than the one I was using. There was a small vanity in the corner whose desk was full of makeup and brushes.
I ran over to the door opening it slowly. No guards guarded the door and no one was in the hallway. I smiled to myself thinking that this was my chance. But why is this so easy? Should it be this easy? Shouldn't there be guards or servants? Nope, not even a living soul.
I turned the corner quickly racing down it. But once I turned down the next the hallway, I saw someone I never wanted to see.
There at the end of the hallway stood Orion, storming his way down the hall. He glared at me and I swear my heart stopped. He looked angry, no furious. I was frozen in my spot, too scared to make a run for it. I swear he looked bigger and scarier now and his power was too much to handle.
I broke away from my fear and turned to make a run for it. But the demon grabbed my hair tightly, pulling me back hard. I cried out in pain feeling the urge to cry. But can you blame me? No you can't, a demon was about to kill me. Probably do it slowly too.
He brought me back to his body glaring at me harshly. His gaze soften as my tears were no longer capable of staying inside my eyes. But he grabbed my wrist tightly pulling me back the way I came. I tried digging my feet into the floor, but he pulled me along, making me stumble and trip.

We reached those large doors to no doubt his chambers. He grabbed my hair again bringing me close to him. His mouth started to trail down my neck and softly suck on the skin there. Was he going to bite me? Tear into my flesh like a monster. Just the thought had me shaking; Alice said it was painful to be bit. Very painful. I felt his sharp canines drag down my neck in a slow manner.
I wanted to get away but his grip on my hair kept me in place.
"Don't ever run from me again or I won't hesitate to rip open this pretty little neck of yours," he traced his thumb down the sensitive skin before releasing me.
I never felt so powerless and weak. Orion was very powerful and could crush me with little effort. He frowned ripping Mr. Bear away from my hand.
I wanted to protest but he glared at me and that shut me right up. He told me to change back into my scratchy nightgown, which I also did with no protest. Orion wrapped me up in a fluffy blanket, almost like a baby, and brought me over to the desk.
Erin was called back in and it was like nothing even happened. I would read for a bit as Orion's soft lips brushed down the back of my neck, stopping at the tip of my spine. I couldn't concentrate, not with him being so affectionate. I didn't know he had such a gentle side about him. He was so stern and mean before, now he's being so gentle.
At three I was done with my tutoring and Erin left. I was tired and couldn't help curling up in a ball in Orion's lap. He picked me up and carried me aways. I didn't think he would let me leave that room after the stunt I pulled but he did. He sat down and started talking to someone, with his deep affirmative voice. I yawned in his ear, resting my head on his shoulder.
He told someone to do something, but the only thing I heard was 'vent' and 'bars'. So he probably is going to fix the vent so I can't get out. What a bust, it would make it harder for the next time I try to get away.
He rubbed my back until he was finished talking. Then once the person left he dug his nose into my neck, taking in my scent. I didn't mind because this was comfortable. I felt like I could sleep forever.
"So cute," he whispered brushing my hair back with his hand. He stood up again with me in his arms, I gripped his neck tighter so I wouldn't fall, even though I knew he wouldn't drop me.
But the next thing I know, the sun is beating down on my skin. With the warm breeze running through my hair. I could hear birds chirping, and the clouds above me looked like cotton candy. Even though I only saw the puffy sugar when I was younger, I still remember the way it looked, and how it would melt on my tounge.
Orion placed me on the ground, the blanket still around me. I looked up and noticed gardens full of flowers and vegetation. But mainly flowers, and roses! There were orchards that stretched on for miles, it seemed. I looked up at him and he smiled and nodded. The large garden in front of me, was split in half: flowers and vegetables.

The side on the right had tons of flowers, different arrangements like daisies, lilacs, of course roses, and even dandelions. But I didn't see the colorful flowers from the woods, surrounding the clearing.
The left was just veggies and greens everywhere.
I ran over to the roses and giggled, the moment reminding of home. This made me so happy, my smile could not be diminished. They smelled so good, but I knew not to touch the stems, since it was there protection.
"Sketch do not eat anything in this garden, if you do you will never be allowed to come out here again, do you hear me?" I nodded swiftly not really paying attention, just looking back to the roses. They were so beautiful, and they just seemed so full of life, something that held the idea of love.
It's not like I would eat the roses, not the fruits or vegetables here either. And multiple guards guarded the orchards and all exits. So it's not like I could escape or anything. Orion sat down on a bench and just watched me play in the flowers. Which was quite fun if you asked me.
A guard came out and started talking with the Vampire King; probably about war and stuff, whatever kings talk about.
"Come on baby, we have to go inside." he said softly, which also surprised me. What happened to the demon that was about to rip open my throat? And he even called me a baby! I wasn't a baby!
But before I complied, I looked over the orchards seeing a familiar woods that I once hated. Orion picked me up and carried me back inside. I wrapped my legs and arms around him, my head on his shoulder, looking to the back yard and bidding it a short farwell.
"Are you hungry, or tired, or both?" he asked.
"No." I whispered, still half dazed by the garden to actually comment how I felt.
"Do you want to join me in the throne room, I have a meeting."
I nodded, feeling my curiosity get the better of me. I didn't know why I brought finger up to trace his cheek. It just looked so flawless I had to touch it. He stared at me as I did so, then I brought my finger down to his lips and traced the outline of them. But before I could touch then he snatched my hand, kissing it briefly. All I could do was giggle, and blush a light shade of pink.
"I don't think you should do that, you've already sparked my arousal."
Okay, I know I don't know much of dirty stuff but I know what he means to be aroused. And all I could do was stay in his embrace for the whole trip to the throne room. He chuckled kissing the top on my head, and murmuring something to himself.
The throne room being big was an understatement, this room was huge! My jaw must of dropped to the floor, and my eyes widening to saucers. The throne in the middle, might I add it was golden, was huge! I probably had to jumped up to get to it. Seriously how does he get up there! The padding was black with little buttons to make a cool looking design. The thrones back was tall with large pillars on each side, the sides were wide and had drapes on the sides of the arm rest. The throne was elevated on two steps making it a little bit higher, and the rest of the room was filled with smaller chairs, that surrounded the room in a semi-arch.
The tables stood in front of the smaller chairs and some people sat in them. It must be an important meeting. Orion placed me down on two feet, and I didn't hesitate to run over to his throne. I felt like such a little kid swinging one leg over the throne and pushing up so I could get to it. I turned to face the room and sat there loving how tall I felt.
Orion smiled, chuckling to himself, grabbing the blanket that fell off of me in that little scene. I ran my hand down the arm rest, smiling about how soft it felt.
"So when do I get a throne?" I asked, smirking at the Ancient Vampire in front of me. He smiled picking me up and off the throne twirling me around, then placed me back on the floor. He sat down on the throne, causing me to pout. But he quickly grabbed me and pulled me into his lap.
Even if I didn't want to admit it, I liked being on his lap. I was somewhat higher than him, and plus he was warm.
"You'll get one after our coronation," he whispered rubbing circles into my back.
I piped up at that. "Really?" I asked.
And he just nodded. I didn't know what he meant by our coronation, but the idea of a throne excited me. I didn't get the chance to ask, because those large golden doors opened, and a man in a very fancy outfit started walking down the hall.
I sunk back into Orion's lap, and he obliged sheltering me away from the man. The man was a vampire, and his red eyes glowed like no other. I wonder why Orion didn't have red eyes? And I have seen some in the halls, why didn't they have red eyes?
"What brings you here, Darvius?" Orion said calm and cool, his aura strong and dominant. It was clouding over me, I could tell the way I felt sleepy and just wanted to fall asleep in the dominants lap.
"I was wondering when you leave for the next dome?" he asked.
"Not anytime soon, I can assure you." Orion said calmly, and I couldn't help but feel the urge to close my eyes. I laid my head on his shoulder feeling his power overtake me.
"Well your family requests to see you, and will be here by mid-day tomorrow."
Family??
"Thank you for the the update."
"Anything for you, M'lord."
The man bowed before leaving the room completely. I felt his aura diminish, but I still felt tired. I just decided to just relax in his arms.
He picked me up and carried me back the way we came, which was back to his chamber most likley. But before I could drift off, I wanted to know one thing.
"Can I go outside tomorrow?" I asked, just above a whisper.
"Anything for you, my love." He whispered and I was out like a light.
