《Human Race (Boyxboy) #1》Chapter Fifteen: The Check Up

I postponed Sketch's' tutor until after the doctor's appointment. I had to make sure he was okay, not knowing if he had any more problems I should know about. I know my blood will heal him, and prevent all the sickness in his stomach but I would still like to know. I had to ask Doc if there was something else I could do, because I know he won't be happy about blood the rest of his life.

There was another knock at the door, and I ordered them to come in and I could only assume it was the Doctor. I was correct and when he came in with his large bag, that resembled a kit, I hopped up to watch what he was going to do to my precious little angel. He looked at me with an eyebrow raised, his forehead scrunching up in a wrinkle when he saw hat my pumpkin was sleeping.

"What happened, Sire?" He asked, quickly rushing over to my little angel and checking for any immediate physical injuries. He didn't find any brought out his stethoscope before placing it on Sketchs' neck and slowing moved down his chest. My sweet little angel made a sound and rolled over on the bed, his eyes starting to flutter open.

He was looking around, and the doctor wasn't sure if he should continue or stop, so I made a motion for him to proceed. So he grabbed a small wooden popsicle stick, and told Sketch to open his mouth. Sketch clearing didn't know what was going on but decided to open his mouth anyway and let the Doctor do his job without even knowing. Calvro, the doctor, placed it on his tongue and looked down Sketches' throat and I assumed he didn't see anything as he placed the popsicle stick down into the garbage.

My angels' eyes flickered up to mine, he looked very confused and tired but it was indeed the cutest look I had ever seen in all my years.

"Sketch can you scoot down here to the end of the bed?" The Doctor asked. Sketch looked at him weirdly probably wondering who he was. I walked over to my baby, and picked him up to speed up the process. His arms and legs wrapped around me like two snakes squeezing their prey, and despite how hard he pulled on I welcomed the embrace.

I smiled at my small angel, kissing his nose when his eyes met mine. I placed him down at the end of the bed and took a step back so I wouldn't be in the way. Calvro checked his reflexes and his reaction time which I assumed was good by the expression the doctor wore.

Sketch yawned and even I could smell his stinky breath. He brought his legs up to his chest and crossed his arms over them before he rested his little head on his right knee. He was too cute, I just wanted to coo at him but I might get his little wrath but even then he would be adorable. Calvro walked over to me with a small frown, which had me raising a brow in question.

"I need to check for hernias, will that be a problem?" he whispered so my little angel couldn't hear. I looked back at my baby, he was still curled up in a ball resting his little head on his knees. So cute.

I walked over to him slowly as if I were silently getting closer no to scare my prey. He lifted his head like a deer being spotted and looked up at me with those big blue innocent eyes that could entrance anyone if they looked more than a couple of seconds. He placed his feet back down on the ground when I knelt down in front of him so he would look down on me.

"Calvro just needs to check for a hernia, baby. It will be quick and if it gets so bad that you can't handle it, I will make him stop. Can you do it for me?" He looked at me confused and I realized he probably didn't know what a hernia was. "It's something underneath your clothes."

His eyes went wide and he scooted back, shaking his head no like I just told him we were going to cut him open and take out all of his organs. Not that I would ever do that to anyone.

"Sketch please, if you feel uncomfortable we can just stop it, okay?" he just shook his head no at the doctor's words. I grabbed Sketchs' wrist, pulling him up and off the bed, over to the chair. I sat down with him in my arms and held him so he could not run anywhere.

"Please, no!" he started shaking and I had to pull him to me to calm him down.

"Don't make me put you to sleep." I whispered softly, not wanting to scare him but just enough to get him to calm down. I pulled off his night gown, making him silently cry to himself and no matter how much I wanted to tell him we didn't have to do this it was actually the opposite. I wiped his tears, telling him it would be okay and that it would be over fast.

I grabbed his red boxer waistband and shimmied the cloth down his legs, wrapping one arm around his stomach so I could support him. Calvro checked quickly, and my sweet little angel closed his eyes tight, as small tears pooled from his eyes one after another.

I pulled his boxers up quickly and brought his shaking body back to mine. Normally, I would not bother to tend to a humans feelings but this little creature had pulled at a spot somewhere in my chest that stopped working quite some time ago. I held him, cooing at him and telling him how good he did for the doctor and most importantly, me. I wiped his face with my thumb before swaddled him up and carried him over to the bed. I took the time and cuddled him into my chest making sure he comfortable. We sat down on the soft bed, cuddling my precious in my arms. My hand instinctively rubbed his back and kissed at his small little cheeks as he cried his frustrations. The doctor left sometime through this little scene and I hope he was finished with his check up and realized I wasn't planning on letting him go from my embrace anytime soon.

I picked him up and placed him on the ground, looking over him with a smile so he could feel reassured. He stood there arms folded over his stomach, as if protecting himself from someone and no doubt it was either Calvro or myself.

I grabbed his white night gown and pulled it over his head and arms. He just stared at me, eyes red and puffy wondering what else would I make him do.

"Are you okay now?" I asked.

He nodded rubbing his eyes, and to top it off he asked for his bear, which I granted with no protest.

The tutor showed up shortly after saving me from getting a boner from looking at his adorable face.

His name was Erin a small college boy with the brains to put even the greatest vampiric professors to shame. He was in his early twenties with blonde hair, dark violet eyes and a killer smile and no doubt would attract the ladies or men. He was tall, with a shy aura but nothing much of a background but I knew he was trustworthy.

The first in his class, graduating early and right away I knew he would be perfect candidate to teach my little prince. He was very smart and dreamed of being a teacher, and I somewhat granted his wish by being Sketchs' tutor.

They sat down and the first thing Sketch did was read to him out of a book which I didn't find surprising as I was curious to see how well he did. He stumbled a few times but his reading was actually very good and I know Erin was taken back as well, since not many kids outside the domes get education.

Then Erin showed Sketch multiplication and division, he struggled but got the hang of it after a while. I watched the whole time, occasionally looking from them to my book. Then they explored science and history, which was starting out with the American timeline. Science was about plants, animals, photosynthesis, herbivores, and omnivores.

It was so cute to see his eyes light up when he got something correct and it made me melt like a candle creating a puddle of adoration at his feet.

At eleven, a new maid came in with a cart with Sketchs' next feeding. I could see him sink back into his chair a little, and an expression that told me he did not want to get near it. The maid filled the glass to the top, with my blood from the bag.

I filled blood bags with my blood to feed Sketch because it will help him overall if I didn't do that I would have to force him to do it from the vein and know he wouldn't like that. Actually, I fill bags monthly for the sick as my blood had the fastest effect on patients. I did it more recently for Sketch, so he can have it fresh and speed the process up a bit.

Sketch looked at me briefly, his eyes with an unreadable emotion before looking down almost scared to speak up. He grabbed the glass of blood and started to slowly sip it.

Why does this taste so weird? It's just so disgusting, but why can't I hate it?

He placed the glass down, half full now his hand somewhat shaking. Erin gave Sketch a worksheet to do on multiplication, addition, division and subtraction and I smiled at the angel that sat a few feet away from me. He finished it within fifteen minutes or so and Erin had him work on another worksheet on spelling and grammar while he checked it.

Erin looked to me and smiled after every worksheet so I knew that was a good sign that Sketch wasn't completely hopeless.

"All of them are correct." he smiled. Sketchs' eyes lit up and he smiled so big, I thought his face would break. I wanted to hug my little angel, tell him that I was proud of him and most importantly have him grace me with that same smile.

"You're a very good teacher."

"He's a very smart boy," Erin smiled, ruffling Sketchs' hair and I surprised myself by lowly growing at him for touching my little baby. No one touched him but me and it was a sight to see as Erin sunk back into his chair tucking his hands in his pockets like a kid being scolded by his mother. Sketch actually glared at me, but I thought it was the cutest thing ever as I sauntered over to him.

I picked up the glass of blood and handed it to him before he could sass me or something. He glared at me, then at the blood before drinking it.

"Erin you are excused for lunch, please be back at eleven-forty five." He nodded, standing up and leaving the room leaving me all alone with my sweet little Sketch.

"Why do you always have to be so mean to other people?" he asked, taking the last sip of blood

"You are mine, no one else can touch what's mine."

He looked up at me with those curious blue eyes before he glared at me. He looked down at the worksheet, pouting slightly.

"I'm not yours." he pouted, grabbing the pencil he was previously holding.

I growled playfully, digging my nose into his neck nipping at his flesh teasingly. He squeaked softly as I pulled him back against me and squashed him against my chest. He smelled so good, I couldn't help but let out a satisfactory growl. He was mine now, all mine.

Cal walked in just at that time, looking at me with a smug smile that let me know he got all of his work done. Sketch was staring at Cal but I couldn't see his face so I could only assume he was curious. My little baby started to fight me in my arms, trying to get out of my embrace. I let him go and watched him run around to the other side of the bed and hid.

"Sir, you have and appointment with Mr. Wilson in ten minutes." Cal said and I nodded.

"Tell Erin to come back early, and make sure Sketch is doing as told." Sketch folded his arms and glared at me. "And if he doesn't, take away Mr. Bear." Sketch glared hard, then frowned rushing over to the bed, grabbing the bear tightly in his embrace. Only if Sketch would hug me like he does that bear. Cal smiled, opening the door for me to exit.

"Certainly, Master." I exited the room, with Cal behind in pursuit. Cal locked the door tightly, telling the guards to make sure the only person to leave and exit the room would be Erin. I could just imagine my little angel pouting, holding his bear in his arms. I couldn't help thinking about his small body underneath mine even though at the moment I was very busy.

"Cal after my meeting, I want my favorite blood delivered to my study." I turned down another hallway walking down to my office. I entered my office and noticed Mr. Wilson at the other side of the chair, filling out some papers. I entered swiftly, causing him to look up. I sat down at my chair, grabbing the folder that sat on the desk. He bowed his head slightly, his glasses slowly falling off his face.

"A train was hijacked yesterday, but there is no leads to where the supplies have gone. We searched and searched but found nothing. We were wondering if we could check the woods, east of your property."

He was talking about the land where I found Sketch, the woods where they have been hiding for all these years. I did not want Sketchs' friends being taken, or who knows how much Sketch will hate me. Plus I would rather watch them, observe them.

"No, those lands are strictly forbidden. It doesn't matter, it was probably a mistake on the other domes' fault." I said clearing it all up. He frowned opening his mouth to protest, but I quickly cut him off. "You may go, do not mention that ever again."

I didn't even glance his way as he quickly exited the door. Cal seductively walked in slyly, biting his lip as he straddled my lab. He smiled, grinding his hips against my groin like he usually did when he didn't get attention. He grabbed the keys from my pocket and unlocked the collar around his neck like he always did, trying to seduce me.

"You have no more meetings until three, and I have no duties." he whispered seductively, his hands wandering over my chest and shoulders. My hands found his butt, and picked him up so he was on my desk instead so I could get better access to his neck. He moaned lowly as I kissed down the pale skin of his throat and before I could take a bite of my favorite drink a knock interrupted us. My fangs retracted and I told whoever the hell disrupted my meal was about to pay and come in. Cal jumped off my desk and stood off to the side, as I opened the door. A guard was on the other side with a frown on his face.

"Sire, when Erin returned to your chambers, Sketch was gone."

I growled lowly, there were two guards on his door and his door was locked! "How did he get out?" I hissed. The guard stepped back bowing slightly, shaking from the power that I radiated.

"The vent window was open, M'lord."

I pushed past him, storming down the halls. My angel would not leave me. After this he would be confined to that room. Even if I had to chain him down—I would not lose my angel.

He would not escape.
