《The Lost Princess (Peter Pan OUAT Fanfic)》*Chapter 6 - Flashbacks and Secrets

"What is wrong with me?" I asked myself.
Pan said he was sorry and for some reason I couldn't accept his apology.
I remembered when I first met him, which was really only a couple days ago, and he said I had fire.
Fire. What does that even mean?
Maybe it's why I just can't accept his apology.
He said he was changing and it seemed sincere.
Then I remembered Aaron.
Flashback
"There's my prince." I said as the blue-eyed beauty walked over to me.
He smiled and hugged me tightly.
"Hello lovely." He greeted with his thick British accent.
I kissed him lightly on the cheek and we walked over to the car garage my foster parents owned.
Aaron let go of my hand and was practically drooling at the sight of the new car shipment we'd just gotten.
"Hello Salina, Hey Aaron." My Foster Dad said.
This was probably the nicest foster home I've been in.
"Umm, Mr. Suntrus, do you think you could let me skip this month's car payment? I'm a little low on cash." Aaron asked.
He smiled and agreed.
"But only on one condition, you be good to my daughter!" He joked.
Aaron nodded.
"Foster Daughter!" I corrected.
His smile faltered for a second as he said, "Yes of course."
A few days later I decided to call Aaron up.
"Hello darling!" He exclaimed, sounding a little shocked.
"Hey, Aaron. Is everything good?" I asked concerned.
"Y-yes, of course. I'm just a tad bit homesick."
I felt confused and questioned, "Aaron you left England two years ago, shouldn't you be over that by now?"
I heard a giggle in the backround, a girls giggle to be more specific.
"Well, I've just been thinking about it, that's all." He explained.

It might just be me but I could swear that I heard a girls voice moan, "Aaron, I thought you dumped that bitch already?"
"I've got to get going. See you soon love." Aaron said hastily and hung up.
Something was up.
I ran to my desk and checked my Facebook. By my Facebook, I mean Aaron's.
I looked at his friends list and found a girl named Chelsea Twad.
There were tons of pictures of her and Aaron on her wall.
My heart broke when I found a picture of them kissing.
I dialed Aaron's number and before he could say hello I screamed, "How could you?"
"S-Salina what are you-"
"You lied to me! You led me on just so you could get a nearly free car!" I shouted.
"Salina I'm sorry!" He shouted back.
My eyes stung as tears began to flow.
"Save it! We're through!"
I slammed the phone down.
I began crying silently as I remembered the months I spent locked in that room until I had to go to a new foster home. It was so stupid. I was 14 when it happened. Aaron was 16.
I heard the little door open and looked up to see Oliver smiling.
"I'm so excited for-" He stopped dead in his tracks when he saw what state I was in.
Ben appeared from behind him and quickly gave me a hug.
"What's wrong?" He asked in his little squeaky voice.
I smiled a little and answered, "I just miss my home."
It was a lie, but he was too young too understand.
Oliver was still staring at me in shock. He was obviously not sure what to do.
I wiped my tears and gave them a half-hearted smile.
"Seriously, I'm fine. You should go outside and play." I assured them.

"Ok!" Ben agreed
He skipped outside, but Oliver was still standing there.
"That's not why you were really crying, was it?" He asked.
I looked at him for a minute and answered, "Well, no."
Oliver looked at me like he wanted me to elaborate on what it really was.
Unwillingly I explained, "When I was 14 and almost about to turn 15, this guy cheated on me. He broke my heart."
He gave me a confused look and continued to ask, "Why would you care about that? That was around a year ago. Haven't you moved on?"
"Well I have, I just wasted so much time on him and I just don't want to go through that again with Pan." I told him.
This obviously sparked a new interest in him and he began questioning what that meant.
I sighed and explained, "Well you can't tell anyone, but before you boys all woke up, Pan freaked out on me for no reason and I think he almost kissed me."
"Kissed you?" Oliver exclaimed.
"Yeah."
"This is insane! He can't love anyone!" He shouted.
I quickly quieted him down and we said nothing for a good five minutes.
He finally broke the silence by asking, "Well did you want to kiss him?"
I took a deep breath and said, "Yes, I think I did."

No Moon
Vree liked his humans. They were kind, clever, and tended to be adorable, in the way that a small, particularly spiny cub was adorable right before it bit you.
