《The Lost Princess (Peter Pan OUAT Fanfic)》'Chapter 7 - Height

My heart was still racing 30 minutes after I gave my "speech." The problem was that the speech was also a promise.
I've never been the best at keeping promises and this was a big one.
The only way I could get through this is with help. Not just help from the lost boys, but help from Salina.
Since she pretty much hates me right now I need to get her trust again.
"Trust." I thought laughing.
I had only met Salina a few days ago. There is a small chance she ever trusted me.
That's when it hit me.
Salina's POV
I needed to get to know each and every one of these boys if I was gonna fit in and help out. I already hit it off with Oliver and Ben so I'll start with Jack.
It was easy to spot him with his bright red hair and seemingly constant smile. Jack was a little bit heavier. He wasn't necessarily fat, but he wasn't a twig either. He seemed like a happy boy and easy to talk too.
I approached him with as much confidence as I could and tapped him on the shoulder.
He turned around and looked a little bit shocked, bit he still smiled.
"Hi, you're Jack right?" I asked.
"Yep, that's me." He responded with a hint of an Irish accent.
"Oh I just thought I'd introduce myself to you and all of the lost boys."
His smile got bigger as he said,"Well it was certainly a pleasure to meet you."
"Ditto." I replied.
He looked confused and I relized that he could have been here for decades.
"Oh it means I feel the same way." I explained.
"Yep we're from different time frames so don't feel bad about it."

I sighed in relief, but became immediately overcome with worry again when I noticed Pan standing by the entrance. He was staring at me and he obviously wanted to talk.
"Well I've got to go Jack, I'll see you later."
"Bye!" He shouted as I walked away.
I stopped once I reached Pan.
"What do you want." I asked without making eye contact.
"I want to show you something." He replied.
I wasn't looking, but I could tell he was smirking.
"What do you want to show me?" Continued to ask.
"This." He grabbed my arm and suddenly I found myself on top of a cliff.
I released myself from his grip and scrambled as far away from the edge as possible.
"Sorry I should have warned you there." He laughed.
I didn't answer and hugged my knees.
He looked slightly concerned and bent down as he tried to look at me. I refused and hid my face with my sweatshirt sleeves.
"What wrong with you?"
I mumbled something that was inaudible and he continued to ask.
Finally I lifted my head up and looked him in the eye.
He knelt down in front of me and asked again in a softer way, "What's wrong Salina?"
I hesitated and finally said, "I'm afraid of h-heights."
He lightly touched my arm and apologized.
We sat there for a minute until he asked me, "Do you want to fly?"
"Are you insane?" I shouted, "Did you not just hear me say I'm afraid of heights?"
Pan rolled his eyes and answered "Yes I did. I just think I could help with your fear."
I shook my head.
"Can't you just try it?" He pleaded.
I didn't answer.
"I won't let go of you." He promised.

I took a deep breath and said, "Ok."
He grabbed my hand and led me to the edge. I started shaking until he put his arms wound my waist.
"Ok you need to put your arms around my neck."
"Wait so you want me to strangle you?" I asked with a smirk.
He smiled and said, "No not like that."
I laughed and put my arms around him.
"Alright I'm going to count."
I closed my eyes
"1."
I felt him lift of the ground.
"2."
I heard wind rushing around me.
"3."
I slowly opened my eyes.
We were so far off the ground I thought I was going to faint.
I clung onto him and he tightened his grip.
"Don't drop me." I whimpered.
"I won't." He whispered.
I leaned my head on his shoulder and we slowly descended towards the ground.
When I finally felt the hard surface beneath my feet I looked at him.
He was still holding me in his arms.
I felt safe. Not vulnerable like I felt with Aaron.
"Salina?" He asked.
"Yes?" I responded.
"I think I finally found my Lost Princess."
