《A Trip Home | P. Parker Field Trip》What Are We Gonna Do?

Being an Avenger sucks. Well, it doesn't suck per se; but hiding your identity from the world? It can really really take a toll on a person.
That's why Peter Parker fell asleep during his academic decathlon meeting. Between his new patrol schedule, the mountain of AP classes he was taking, and acadeca? The boy just needed a break. Usually, he could get away with a quick nap or two during practice but he chose the wrong day to not pay attention.
"All right kids, gather around," started Mr. Harrington, the acadeca teacher. "I know we have a really big meet coming up and everyone is super stressed, so I put together a little surprise for you guys."
The acadeca students looked around the half-empty classroom at each other, confused as to what their clumsy, and almost always forgetting, teacher had put together. It was probably some trip mini golfing, or to see a new movie that had just been released; Mr. Harrington tended to over-exaggerate things a lot.
"We will be visiting Avengers Tower on Friday! I know, I know, you have the best teacher in the world, right? Take a permission slip before you leave or else, no trip!"
The team looked at him wide-eyed. Avengers Tower? How the hell did their teacher get a tour for them at one of the most secure places in New York City? They began murmuring to each other, knowing how rare it was for the building to let visitors, let alone an entire group of students, into their halls. It was probably just some spam email, trying to scam Mr. Harrington out of money. Skeptically, the team took a permission form on their way out. Everyone, except Peter, still asleep at his desk, and his best friend Ned Leeds, who was silently freaking out next to him.

"Holy shit," Ned cursed to himself. "Pete, what are we gonna do? I mean, people know that you work for Mr. Stark, but no one knows you actually live at the tower!" He turned to look at his friend who was still fast asleep, his head leaning on his hands as he slept hunched over the desk. "Peter!"
Peter's head shot up quickly, darting his eyes around as he tried to take back in the fluorescent lights above. "What? did I miss the next practice date?" He asked, still dazed from his sudden wake from slumber.
"No, worse. Mr. Harrington planned another surprise."
Peter groaned, leaning forward against his desk again, his head propped up by one of his hands. "Ugh, not another surprise... what is it this time? A trip to the Central Park Zoo?"
"Dude, don't freak out... but we're going to Avengers Tower on Friday."
His eyes almost popped out of their sockets. "What?! We can't go there!" Peter shot up from his desk, pacing around the small area where he and Ned sat in the back of the class. "No one knows I live there! And oh my god, people are gonna find out I'm Spider-Man! What are we gonna do man!?"
How Peter ended up at Avengers Tower was a long depressing story, so instead of telling people he lived there, he opted to not tell them anything at all. A couple of months after his fight with Vulture, Aunt May collapsed on the kitchen floor grabbing her left arm as she struggled to breathe.
After finding her unconscious in their apartment, he rushed her to the hospital. It wasn't long until the doctors told him that she had a heart attack, and while it was not common for women of her age to die of one, it couldn't be ruled out. She had been in the hospital for a week or two at that point and her condition wasn't improving. Peter was distraught, not knowing what to do with himself. He started patrolling later, hitting a few harder punches before convincing himself hurting thugs wasn't going to help anyone.

He decided to sneak into Avengers Tower one night to use their boxing bags. It wasn't hard to get in, he had a key card after all, but he wanted to keep his visits a secret. No one, not even Ned, knew what happened to Aunt May. But that didn't stop Tony Stark from finding out. He promised Peter that he and Pepper would do everything they count to help his aunt and if anything was to happen to her, Peter would always have a place at the tower.
Unfortunately, that day arrived almost exactly two weeks later. The day they buried Aunt May was the day he officially became a Stark, well, legally anyway. He preferred to keep his own surname for a ton of different reasons. Not only did Peter move into the tower, but he received his own lab to help improve his suit. It wasn't long before Tony saw the potential in his new "son" and decided to make him an official Avenger. Only Ned knew of everything happening in his home life, Peter had confessed everything to him at that point, and he preferred to keep it that way. Going on a field trip to his home would definitely make for a challenging adventure.
"No one will find out Peter!" Ned said, making Peter stop pacing and turn to him. "You kept your secret from me for a long time, remember?"
"What secret?" said a voice making both of the boys jump in surprise. They turned to see MJ staring them down, her hands crossed over her chest. She furrowed her brows, trying to figure out what her friends had been discussing.
"Nothing!" the boys said in sync, darting their eyes back and forth between each other.
"Well, I for one am excited to see all the nanotechnology Stark talked about in the Daily Bugle last week," she continued, giving the boys a side eye as she walked away.
She was never really convinced they were telling the truth to her but decided to let this excuse go for the time being. But one day, she would figure out everything they were hiding. She was determined to find the truth and letting one day go by wouldn't stop her from reaching it. The boys watched her as she picked up her book from her desk and made her way out the door, grabbing Abe's permission slip out of his hands instead of one from the pile.
"What am I going to do?" Peter said looking back at Ned.
Ned shrugged his shoulders in wonder as well, trying to think of how his best friend was going to get out of this okay.

Map created by Maximeplasse This fiction is based on my play-per-post RP that I've run before but with my own take on summoned characters and dungeon settings. At certain points I'll also allow reader decisions if the story gets popular enough. xD It's unrelated to the D&D Theron setting; Telduria I just liked the name and the map when I started up the RP back in the day.
