《A Trip Home | P. Parker Field Trip》I'll Be There to Back You Up

This was bad, like, really bad. Peter raced to the subway as fast as he could after school, trying to block the smell of the guy peeing in a cup as he jumped through the sliding train doors. The entire ride he was on edge. There was only one person that would approve a trip like this, and he needed to talk to him fast.
As soon as the doors opened at his stop, he raced out, dodging the people as he ran through Grand Central Station and up the giant steps. He ran down the block, wishing he could use his web shooters but knew that he didn't have his suit on. Finally turning the corner, he saw it - home. The Avenger's Tower stood tall next to all the buildings, its slender frame reflecting in the afternoon light.
He scurried inside the glass doors, running directly to the security door that was next to reception. Scanning his badge, he expected to hear the ding followed by the glowing green light but was met with a red one instead. He scanned his badge again, and still, it was denied.
Over and over he ran his badge through the machine, hoping the answer would be different but it still wouldn't let him pass. F.R.I.D.A.Y., the AI who was in charge of security couldn't even read the badge as it swiped through the machine as Peter desperately tried to get inside.
"Peter, slow down before you take someone's eye out!" said a voice. He turned around to see Camilla at the reception desk.
She chuckled at his frantic behavior, watching her friend struggle to pass the security check. Peter and she became somewhat friendly when he started working here, both of them being in the intern program. Well, both of them were supposed to be in the program, Camilla didn't know that Peter was a Stark or Spider-Man.
"I just need to talk to Tony. Now," he emphasized.
"Is this about that trip your academic decathlon team is taking this Friday?" she questioned with a smirk.
Peter felt his face tighten, eyes widening at the realization of what his friend had said. "Oh my god, you know about the trip too?"
"Well yeah, I'm your tour guide. I saw it on my schedule this morning."

"Oh my god, who here doesn't know about this trip?" He asked sarcastically, throwing his hands in the air.
"Thor since he went off-world to help the Guardians with a mission but, besides him, pretty much everyone," said Camilla, toying with him.
As much as he didn't want to admit it, her tactics were working.
Peter rolled his eyes, "Oh geez." He turned back to the badge scanner, swiping his card again to be met with another flashing red light. "Can you just open the freaking door? I need to talk to Tony."
Camilla laughed. "Yeah sure. Just don't shatter the glass buttons of the elevator again; I can't keep calling I.T. to replace them."
The doors in from of him shined a green light, opening up before him. He raced through as fast as he could, booking it to the elevator.
He turned back and shouted down the long hallway, "Don't worry I won't!"
"Yeah I don't believe you!" she shouted back.
Peter pushed past as many scientists as he could, trying not to tangle himself in their lab coats as he tried to reach the elevator. Frantically, he pushed the up button on the wall, tapping his foot impatiently as he waited for his ride to arrive. He pushed the button again and again until the elevator dinged indicating its' arrival. As the doors opened, Peter rushed inside and pressed the button reading 77, the second to last floor in the building.
The elevator ride was long. He paced back and forth thinking of what he was going to say to Tony. People moved in an out of the elevator on his journey up the tower. It frustrated him, being stopped by so many people. He had to worry and all this was slowing him down.
Finally, the last person got off on floor 63 and the elevator zoomed up, swiftly reaching floor 77. The elevator dinged once more, opening its' doors so Peter could sprint down another hallway to Tony's private lab. He didn't knock before entering the room and to his relief found only Tony talking to Pepper, who both turned their heads at Peter's loud arrival.
"Hey, Pete! How was school?" Tony said casually.
"You're letting my class go on a field trip here on Friday!?"

"Tony!" Pepper said hitting him on the arm. "Why would you do that? You know the rest of the Avengers will embarrass Peter when he and his friends come!"
"Exactly! It's payback for that prank you and Clint played on me!" Tony retaliated.
"Really that's why my acadeca team is coming?! Because of a stupid prank I pulled?" Peter questioned in a somewhat angry tone, "Did you ever think that people might figure out I'm Spider-Man? The world may know your identities but they don't know mine!"
"Relax Peter. They won't find out. They only have level one clearance. All of your Spider-Man stuff is on the top clearance, level ten. Besides, I've been telling you to release your name to the public. I did and look where I landed."
"That's different you didn't have to go to high school when you announced you were Iron Man! If anything happens, it's your fault!" Peter yelled before stomping away down the hall to the elevator to take him to the top floor where all the Avenger's living quarters were.
He sighed as he shut the door to his room, throwing his bag absent-mindedly across the room towards his bed. Instead of the normal thump, he heard-
"Ow! Jesus Parker!"
Whipping his head around fast, Peter readied himself in a fighting stance, that was before he saw the friendly face before him.
"Shuri!" he exclaimed, standing up straight and fixing his shirt. "What are you doing here?"
Rubbing the side of her head, she stood up, meeting Peter halfway as he went to examine where he accidentally hit her. "My brother needed a suit repair," she began to explain. "He's getting tired of my mocking and better designs though he would beg to differ."
Peter chuckled, checking one more spot on her head. "You should be fine, sorry I tossed my bag. I wasn't expecting anyone to be here."
"You could not sense me with your... Peter Tingle?"
"Oh my god, how do you know about that?" he asked, cheeks getting redder by the second.
"Stark mentioned it when he arrived."
Peter sighed. "Of course he did." He moved to his bag that flopped onto the floor, picking it up and pulling out his permission slip. "I just need Pepper to sign this since she's technically my legal guardian-"
Moving to leave, he was surprised when he felt the permission slip leave his hand. Looking back he saw Shuri examining it. "What do we have here?"
"Shuri give that back!" He moved closer to her, trying to get the form but she held her hand up high and Peter cursed to himself that she was taller than him.
"Tell me what this is and you can take it."
"Shuri-"
"No Parker, I wanna know!"
Not wanting to play any more games, Peter used his heightened abilities to jump high and grab the form. The only problem was, they were inside and he misjudged how high he was jumped by a lot. In one swift movement, his hand hit the ceiling and came crashing down on top of her.
The two teens cackled on the floor at Peter's idiotic mistake. He stood up first, extending a hand out to her. "Sorry," he apologized. "It's a permission slip for a school trip this Friday. Actually, the trip is here."
"Oh, that's cool! Maybe I'll come down and hang out with you guys for a bit, meet the classmates you speak so highly of."
Peter rolled his eyes at her sarcasm. "If you stay away from Flash then please, I would love for you to come down and hang out with us."
"Then it's a plan," she said, reaching out her hand to shake his. "Do you mind if I crash here tonight? T'Challa's suit won't be finished until the end of the week."
"Of course yeah, the guest room is always open for you," he said with a smile. "Let me just run this over to Pepper and we can watch a movie?"
"Sounds great, Parker."
He watched as she admired the miniature millennium falcon he was building on his dresser, no doubt already planning ways to improve his design. It was nice having someone his age that was also intellectual; though even Peter could admit she was still light years ahead of him.
Leaving the room, he headed to Pepper's, hoping that somehow someway, everything would go smoothly for his field trip.
Spoiler alert: It did not.

Battle Royale across the Universe: The Species Tournament
Join the Species Tournament! You might lose your sanity, and quite possibly, your life. But hey, great adventure awaits. Who would accept such a deal and risk it all for glory and the unknown? Well, apparently quite a few. In fact, 1.000.000 life forms will face each other in this century’s tournament. Who will win and who’ll be sent packing? Who will gain strength and who’ll leave with trauma? Find out on this week’s episode of the Species Tournament! ................................................................................................... Additional notes (for those who want more details before giving the novel a try): - It’s a battle royale type of setting between humans, pixies, elves, and dwarves organized by a Television Channel from the Demon World. - The MC foolishly decides to join the competition and will struggle to redeem himself throughout the story. The unfolding events will force him and his friends to mature in different ways. - Each round will be held in a different location/planet. The rounds and the locations will become crazier as the plot progresses. - There will be a mystery aspect to the story, since the demons don’t really like spoon feeding contestants on what is going on. - You can expect some magic elements, though contestants won't have much access to them. - The members of each species will have their own unique worlds, back-stories, motivations, and traits. Some will fight for personal reasons while others for the sake of their people. The needs of many vs. the needs of the individual will clash on several occasions. - Finally, there will be twists and turns at every corner, so one should never get too comfortable. Thanks in advance to all who read my story, and I’d love to hear your thoughts on it!

The Cyclical Nature of Time
A girl’s life ends unexpectedly early, or so it would seem. Instead of eternal nothingness, she wakes up in an empty valley with no clue how she got there. Taking her predicament in stride, she sets out to do something about it. Unfortunately for her, the first couple of people she meets aren’t much help. They claim they haven’t heard of electricity and dress as if they were on a break from their job at a Viking-themed amusement park. MC is a somewhat normal girl. She's pragmatic and not very angsty. The story is tagged with anti-hero, but to be clear, she is not a villain. She does good if she can, she just isn't morally motivated to do so. The story starts out smelling of fantasy but will eventually shift towards sci-fi. It contains some supernatural elements and has a strong lead, but it is not your usual power trip. Expect a story that takes its time, but not to the point where entire chapters are spent on mindless chit-chat. I’m not into that. This is my first serious attempt at writing and I've learnt a lot writing this. Unfortunately, that shows. Chapter 1-10 is slow and rather pointless. Things get better, but it is not until chapter 25 or so that I began understanding how to structure chapters and to make them support the larger story. I publish about 3000 words a week (every sunday) but I write about 10000 words a week. Sticking to that pace, which is easy, the last chapter will be out by July.
