"What time are Luke's family coming over?" I asked.
"12"
"Urgh, that's too long to wait" I complained as I sat down at the island. My mum had invited Luke and his parents around for Christmas since his brothers were with their girlfriend's families.
"God, you two can't be apart can you? You saw each other yesterday"
"I just want to give him his present"
"What'd you get him?"
"Good Charlotte tickets"
"He'll love them"
"I hope so. He kept going on about how he couldn't get tickets so he better still want to go"
"I'm sure he will. That boy loves his music"
"Tell me about it"
"Can you go set the table please. They'll be hear in an hour"
"Still till long"
*****
"Merry Christmas!" I threw my arms around Luke's neck as he came into the living room.
"Merry Christmas, baby" He replied, quickly kissing me as he hugged me back.
"Can we do presents?"
"You that excited for yours?"
"No, I just really want to go give you yours"
"You're cute" He said as he guided me towards the sofas. Our parents had already sat down opposite us. I grabbed Luke's gift off the table and passed it to him. He opened the thin box and removed the tissue paper. "You didn't"
"Why do you think I was late to school the day they went on sale?"
"You're the best" He smiled before hugging me. "Thank you" He passed me my present next.
"This is very well wrapped"
"Mum did it"
"Mumma's boy" I pinched his cheeks.
"Just open the present" I nodded and unwrapped the present to find a box. I opened it and found a silver bracelet sat on the small cushion. I examined it closely, noticing a small engraving on a disc hanging off the bracelet. It read 'L & M'.
"Lu, this is beautiful. I love it"
"And" He started before pulling out a necklace from under his t-shirt. It was a small circular necklace that had the same cursive engraving on the front.
"Thank you" I hugged him again.
"We'll always be together, Mads, even when we're apart"
"Cheesy but cute"
"You love it"
"Yeah, I do" I smiled before kissing him once more.

The Lady's Handbook of Intrigue and Murder (High Fantasy Politics)
Summary:The daughter of a dying house is summoned to the Imperial City to meet and perhaps marry a handsome prince. It sounds like a fairy tale. Except Mydea doesn’t have the advantage of a half-forgotten childhood encounter, supreme magic to match the highest echelons of society, or even the privilege of an ally. In order to survive and make a name for herself, she must beat the Imperial Court at its own game. At least no one's tried to kill her—yet. Notes: Basically, if you liked the magic of Harry Potter and the politics of Game of Thrones, you'll probably like this. While the first book focuses on the female lead, and the interplay of competing regional and imperial interests, subsequent books will also cover warfare and how I imagine that differs wildly from historical norms with the introductions of a magical aristocracy. Natural Alchemist
Will is poor. This is a fact he does not like about himself. Even back at his home village he was considered poor, but poor in the big city means something completely different than poor in a small village... It means ten hour days of hard manual labor with barely enough money to survive, and poor living conditions. He's sick of it, and desperate for change. Perhaps that was what made him decide to spend such a large portion of his savings on a mysterious potion from that beggar... That, and it seemed so special when he held it. But ever since that day, he's been having the strangest dreams... And the work is really starting to take a toll on his body... Author's Note: I wasn't sure which mature content warnings I should put on this novel, as I'm pretty much pantsing the story. I'm putting them there mostly as a percaution, but also to not limit myself as to where the story can go. This is my first time writing and publishing anything substantial. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
