"What's up?" I asked, taking a seat on Luke's bed, crossing one of my legs under the other.

"Can't a guy just invite his girlfriend over?"

"You said it was important. Is it bad?"

"Not really. It's good news to be honest. I just wanted to run it past you first"

"So? The suspense is killing me"

"You look really cute today by the way"

"I'm wearing your t-shirt, leggings and white high tops"

"Let me rephrase, you look hot today"

"Stop buttering me up, just tell me what's going on"

"Fine" He paused. "This came in the post this morning" He held an envelope higher up so I noticed it. "It's from University of Queensland in Brisbane"

"And?"

"I got an unconditional offer"

"Fuck, Lu, that's amazing! I'm so proud" I said, throwing my arms around his neck and hugging him.

"You know it's in Brisbane right?"

"I'm not going to come in between you and your dreams"

"I know. I'm not going to come in between yours either"

"I want you to know I did look at internships in Brisbane"

"And?"

"They weren't paid and I won't have time to have a job and do an internship. I'm sorry"

"You considered it. That's enough for me"

"I have got an internship in Sydney though. It's pretty much all sorted to start the end of summer"

"Wait, seriously?" I nodded. "I'm so proud of you" He hugged me.

"I feel like we're all grown up"

"We're still in school"

"I'm not looking forward to next summer anymore"
