《More Than You Realize》Chapter 6: Lose of Control

The hallways were pitch black. We couldn't hardly see a thing! I know I've run into the walls at least 5 times already.
Agonizing screams erupted in the hallways. We all froze, but I jumped back out of fear. I backed into Galaxy Steve, making him grunt.
"W-what was that!" I exclaimed. I fell to the floor and curled into a ball. I heard Galaxy Steve sigh a little.
"Not sure, but we need to keep going," he said picking me up to my feet. I groaned because I was too scared to continue forward. 'Come on, Rainbow Steve. This is for Sabre. You have to keep going!'
"Okay..." I mumbled.
The lights, suddenly, flickered on. The hallways became much clearer, as well as what was in the hallway. Doors, vents, Slade, curves, pic... SLADE!
We all flinched seeing Slade stand at the end of the hallway. He glared at us, and gripped the sword he had in his hand. It looked like an enchanted diamond sword. Very dangerous.
Void Steve growled. A smirk, slowly, began to form on his face.
"Sabre? Oh, he's fine. He's not hurt in any way, shape or form. My workers, however, I think, are dead because of him. You tried to teach him to use his powers, but only I truly unlocked them," Slade said evilly. My eyes went wide, deciphering what he just said.
"Y-you d-d-didn't," I stuttered. He laughed his weird laughter.
"OH! I DID! HE'S NOT YOUR FRIEND! HE IS YOUR ENEMY!" Slade exclaimed. He stepped aside, just as Sabre walked around the corner.
It was terrifying. I didn't hardly recognize him. His clothes have been changed. Bits of red streaks ran through his hair, and both of his eyes were red. He glared at us, as if we had just killed his friends or family.
"S-Sabre?" I questioned. I walked towards him, big mistake. He stuck his hand out, and I was thrown backwards. "Wh-what? How did he do that!"
Void Steve said as he began backing away. Sabre smirked.
"Slade was the one who truly helped me; not you imbeciles," Sabre snarled. I felt tears burn my eyes.
Where am I? I wasn't familiar with my surroundings at all. I didn't have much light, and there was nothing to be seen for quite a while.
"Slade was the one who truly helped me; not you imbeciles," I heard myself snarl. No! That wasn't me! Who is speaking!
"P-please, Sabre. This isn't you. You can break free from his control!" I heard Rainbow Steve yell. 'Control?'
No way... Slade! He's controlling my body! Come on... think Sabre. How can you get out? I can't build a machine in here, plus I don't have any resources. There's nothing I can fight against; not that I can see.

"What can I do?!" I cried out in frustration. A burst of energy went through my and out my body. I stared in shock at the waves of aura that surrounded me. "THAT'S IT! I know Slade said something about me having elemental powers. Psychic is one of them! I can use telepathy!"
I've never tried it before, but it's worth a shot. I closed my eyes, and focused on Rainbow Steve's mind. I don't know how I know how to use my powers. I guess it just comes with Slade controlling me.
'Oh God... Sabre, please come back!' I heard Rainbow Steve's voice. I couldn't help but smile widely. I was so happy I was able to reach him.
I exclaimed happily. I could tell he was in shock.
'Sabre?'
'H-how are you...'
'T-that's awesome!'
'Okay, how do I get you out?'
'Void Steve teleported us here... OHHHHHH...'
I cut the connection off because all I was getting was a massive headache. I grabbed my head in pain. I didn't really know what was going on, but I heard Rainbow Steve yelling. I couldn't make out what he said. It was all slurred together.
Finally, the voices were clearer. I was able to make out what they were saying.
"IMPOSSIBLE! THERE'S NO WAY YOU HAVE ANY CONTACT WITH SABRE!" Slade yelled furiously. I smirked.
I said into Slade's head. Now, it was his turn to be in shock.
"How's he-" Slade questioned. I was laughing so hard right now.
"VOID STEVE! GET US ALL, INCLUDING SABRE, OUT OF HERE!" Rainbow Steve yelled. I heard the sound of teleportation after a few seconds after Rainbow Steve yelled.
I asked into Rainbow Steve's mind. There was a long pause. It was so long, I was starting to get concerned.
'YEP!' he exclaimed happily. I sighed, but began hearing some yelling. 'But Slade is still controlling you.'
I said going serious.
"Okay, one of you distract him. Sabre is telling me what to do next," Rainbow Steve said. I heard Galaxy Steve yell his "Okay" before he cried out. I assumed he was attacking me.
I asked not wasting any time.
'Yeah. Am I building one of those?' he asked.
I said. I went a little slowly. I didn't want to overload Rainbow Steve.
'Okay. Hold on, let me build it.' he said.
I waited and waited. Every second felt like a minute. Every minute felt like an hour. I didn't know if time was different where I was, but it sure felt like it.
'Now what?' Rainbow Steve finally said. I sighed in relief.
I said. Dang, these powers make me a lot more knowledgeable. I've never thought of using a different material for a different reasons before.

I heard more yelling, but they kept yelling over top of one another. I can't make out what they are yelling about.
I felt a pain go through my body. It felt like multiple swords were being pushed through me at different places. Suddenly, the area I was in turned white. I covered my eyes.
...
...
...
...
"Sabre?" Rainbow Steve asked. I opened my closed eyes, so excited to see the brightness of the overworld. A smile began to form on my lips.
"Rainbow Steve!" I exclaimed. I didn't know where Galaxy Steve and Void Steve were; probably off fighting somewhere.
Rainbow Steve turned off the machine, and my body fell forward. I stumbled a little bit, but I was able to regain my balance before I collided with the ground.
"Rainbow Steve! Thank you so much!" I exclaimed happily. I wrapped my arms around his body, pulling him into a tight hug. He laughed, then hugged me back.
"Sabre! I'm so happy you're back!" he exclaimed happily. We let go of each other after a few minutes.
"Where's Galaxy and Void Steve?" I asked curiously. He laughed a little then pointed upwards.
I looked up, and almost died laughing at the sight. Galaxy and Void Steve were floating high above us. They were obviously fighting over something, but all they did was wave hands around.
"They thought I was crazy, saying you were talking to me. It dragged into them fighting over who was the better Steve. How that happened, I don't really know," Rainbow Steve laughed. I laughed along with him.
We just continued to listen to the continuous bickering of the two powerful Steve's. Soon, they floated back down, not saying a word. We both smirked at them.
"So, who won the argument?" I asked crossing my arms. Neither said a word. They stayed silent, and didn't even look at me or Rainbow Steve.
They stared to our sides; my guess, in their own world.
"Whatever... don't answer. At least, however, stop fighting. You said it yourself Void Steve; we won't get anywhere by just fighting," Rainbow Steve said.
Void Steve yelled pointing to Galaxy Steve. Galaxy Steve flinched, and stared at Void Steve in shock.
"Excuse me! I didn't start it! You did!" Galaxy Steve exclaimed pointing back to Void Steve.
Void Steve exclaimed fully facing Galaxy Steve.
Galaxy Steve turned and faced Void Steve with the same look Void Steve was giving him.
"Because your way is completely wrong! All you care about is destruction, destruction, destruction! It's not right," Galaxy Steve yelled back.
'Wait... I thought they were fighting about who was the better Steve?' I thought. 'What are they even fighting about now?'
It was funny at first, but now, it's just annoying.
They kept going back and forth, and it was getting irritating.
"WILL YOU TWO SHUT UP ALREADY?!" I yelled after a few more minutes of them going back and forth.
Everyone flinched. Galaxy and Void Steve did shut up, much to my ears' pleasure. Rainbow Steve stared at me in shock, as did both Void and Galaxy Steve.
"You two were getting annoying..." I sighed while crossing my arms. I pinched the bridge of my nose, and closed my eyes shut.
"Sorry, Sabre," Galaxy Steve said. I didn't open my eyes, but I did nod.
"Look... it's fine. We need to do something in order to get rid of Slade before anything bad happens," I said, opening my eyes once again.
Galaxy Steve and Void Steve flinched when I did. They looked in pure shock, and somewhat terror.
"What?" I asked.
Void Steve said. I raised an eyebrow. 'What's that even suppose to mean?'
"What are you gu-WOAH!" Rainbow Steve exclaimed. I looked at him with pure confusion.
"What? Why are you all acting so scared?" I questioned worryingly.
"You... uh... might wanna look in a mirror, or something?" Galaxy Steve suggested slowly. I noticed a lake not too far from where we stood.
I looked back to them, giving them a questioning look. I, slowly, walked towards the lake, and braces myself for what I would see.
I kneeled down, and looked at my reflection. I was shocked by what I saw.
My both of my eyes were red, and glowing fiercely. I had a streak of red going down my right cheek. I tried to wipe it away, but that didn't work. I didn't like this.
I jumped up and away from the monster I had seen. I couldn't focus properly. My mind was racing with questions; in one ear and out the other. I kept backing away from the lake; the soft, dead grass crunching underneath me.
'Dead? This grass wasn't dead just a second ago!' I thought in fear.
I looked at the ground surrounding me. A huge circle formed around me. Anything within that circle was dead. Animals, trees, grass, flower, etc.
My breathing was heavy and uneven. My mind was still going everywhere. Nothing seemed right or real right now. Void Steve was right. I had no control over my powers right now.

Gods of Arkanoth
The hunter has been betrayed, left alone in the streets of a lugubrious district. Only one goal appears in his eyes: to avenge himself. In his quest to avenge himself, he'll encounter an enigmatic scientist who seems to hide his true nature, a savior pretending to be a God, and the terrible truth of those words, bringing him against something he'd never thought he'd have to affront. This is the odyssey of the hunter, in a quest to put a long overdue end to a war between two worlds. // What to expect:The beginning will surely be intriguing, most of what's happeing won't be directly explained, although there will be some hints about their true roles, but do not worry about some subjects never leaving that misty fog that is unanswered questions! The novel is divided in two parts, the first focusing on uncovering the well-hidden secrets the city of Arkanoth hides, be it concerning its making or its inhabitants. As for the second part, it will be an expedition into the unknown, we could, in a way, say the true start of the journey our three heroes will undertake! I won't say anything more about the second part or else I might tell you an important detail without realizing... As for magic, because yes, there is magic! Although you might not see the shadow of a spell in the first chapters, it will appear in later chapters and will be one of the main subjects of volume 2. There are three heroes, yes, but they will not appear directly. While the first two protagonists appear in quite the beginning, the third will take his time, taking some stroll in the Districts of Arkanoth while we focus on the story of the hunter. But that does not lessen his importance in the story a bit, trust me. What about these three heroes, you say? Well, they all have their own issues, from their character to their torments, and as the story progresses they will have to come clean with their past (character development is to be expected) and will find their reason for fighting, braving all odds. I draw my inspiration from mythology, more precisely Aztec mythology. I want to stay true to a certain extent about it and all the relations between the gods and their role, however I will still change some things to my liking, so do not expect for all of the mythology to be respected to the letter. Finally! I have to say English is a foreign langage for me, so I might not choose the best words or straight-up miswrite something, if it bothers your experience, just tell me in the comments and I'll look into it! It is also my first time writing a book, so some parts might seem sloppy, but I hope I will be able to improve throughout this journey so as to give the most enjoyable reading experience to you. // Who might enjoy this story: Firstly, if you like deep lore and stories in which past plays a big role, you will like how everything unravels to show the hidden truths of the world. However if you do not appreciate not instantly understanding what's happening or who - or even what - this person might be, then you might not appreciate the story. There will be disturbing and gore descriptions, so if you're sensitive, don't like reading about someone being beheaded and such, you should probably pass this one. There is strong langage, although I won't abuse it, I won't be lying saying no insults will appear. Finally, the heroes will not always win, they will sometime lose battles, be it important ones or unimportant, and they will, most of the time, not come out unscathed from those. // Time Schedule : once every two sundays at 7:pm Ps : feel free to tell me if something is bad, or feel wrong with the book, it really helps me. I've written till' chapter 4 (in my mother tongue, so I'll still have to translate), however I'll make some minor and major changes, thus it will take some time to post them. Schedule will probably not change after releasing chapter 4, so don't worry, it won't take even longer to post a chapter than it already is. Enjoy the ride :)
