You spotted Yui-Sensai about to go into the infirmary but yelled just in time. "Yui-Sensai! Don't do it!" She looked startled. "Who are you?" "Doesn't matter. You cant go in there or else Mayu will die." She immediately released the handle. "How do you know that?" "I can't explain right now but I'm the only one who can save her." Yui-Sensai still wasn't convinced. "And why is that?" You sighed. "Just stay out here no matter what. I know what I have to do." And with that you entered the room. Mayu was talking to Tokiko and Yuki, but she had no idea what was going to happen. "Yuki! Tokiko! If you let Mayu escape, I will take her place in the fate you have decided." Mayu was confused, "What? Who are you? They don't mean anyone any harm, they just-" but you cut her off. "Yui-Sensai is waiting outside. You need to find Morishige as soon as possible." She gasped. "Shige-nii?" You were eyeing the ghosts, cautious about what they would do. "Yes, he needs you a lot Mayu, so go to him. Please." She nodded and quickly left as Yuki and Tokiko burst into hysterical laughter. Suddenly, you felt your foot being lifted up by an unknown force. 'Shit Shit Shit Shit Shit' was all you could think. Suddenly you were flying out the door in a blur. 'This is going to hurt a lot isn't it. Well Shit.' Your face scraped the ground as you let out your first screams. But they were cut short by an agonizing pain that ripped you apart.

You woke up screaming as memories of a terrible pain slowly faded. Upon looking around, you realized you were in the West wing of Heavenly Host. 'Dying really sucks' you thought as you wandered past corpses in the cursed halls. 'Well, in the show, Morishige died next, but that only depended on Mayu's death.' Your thoughts were interrupted by the flash of a camera. You looked up to see Morishige taking a picture of a corpse. 'Speak of the slightly insane devil'

You watched him admire the picture a while before speaking up. "Eh, Morishige, it would really disappoint Mayu if you were already insane." He turned around quickly. "Mayu? Wait, who are you? And how do you know Mayu?" You sighed. "It's none of your business who I am, but Mayu is waiting for you in the other wing of the building. I suggest you go to her instead of relying on corpses to keep you sane." He cautiously nodded. "Thanks, I'll go find her." You watched him until his shadow disappeared from your sight, and sighed. Now you had to find Yuka,
and save her from Kizami.

Two people are transported to a world with magic, but it is no Wonderland. When the god of light died, he decided to take the world with him. At least, that’s what many believe in the Kingdom of Rhine, a once vast kingdom of which only a small corner remains — and even that is threatened. On one side, by the Twisted Forest, a corruption spreading from the deathplace of the gods that has already swallowed up most of Rhine. On the other, by the resurgent Kagrathan Empire, resurrected by the infallible God-Emperor Karlatz. A holy order of knights carry out their mission despite the death of their god. A band of talented misfits prepare for a heist out of their league — by stealing. Mages hunt for secrets even as the world ends. A ruler does what must be done to save the living, no matter the cost. Into this world of magic and murder, two adrift souls are inexplicably dragged: a mother estranged from her young daughter due to her own mistakes, and a young man with a love of fantasy who has gradually drifted away from his friends and family. As they each struggle to find their place in this world, they must also answer the question: do they want one?***Content Warning: I've drafted about 100,000 words (most of the first volume), and there is no sexual content so far, though I may add it in the future. There is occasionally gore and traumatising content as the story demands. I commit to keeping all of the above non-voyeuristic. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
