a break? what does he mean? this can't be real, this is not happening. it's all a bad dream, wake up. wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up.

for the love of god, wake the fuck up. i'm desperately telling myself this is not real, but it's real enough to hurt. and dammit, it hurts so bad. i want this to end. i want to talk to marcus so badly, but i know i have to give him space.

it feels like my heart was broken into a million pieces and nothing could possibly put them back together. why is he doing this?

i wake up from a short nap, with sean gone. my phone is silent, and all i see is my lockscreen. i check the time, 3am. i keep looking at my lockscreen, a picture of julia. i love her so much, i hope she's okay.

i look at my texts with her, and see something that shocks myself. a break? who wrote that? this is definitely not what i said. i went to bed right before she lat texted me. this is definitely someone's hand, and i'm about to find out.

the crash made my legs hurt everytime i walk, but it's easier now that i'm used to walking. i go to the reception and ask the lady about sean, but she said he left long ago.

she's lying. she's covering him. i can tell by her face. sean is still somewhere here, and he totally wrote that message to julia. how far will he go until he learns there are consequences?

~

i find sean. it's hours later, and julia won't answer me. nyck is pissed off. i tried explaining but he doesn't want to hear it. he told me to stay away from him and julia, and that hurt.

"what the fuck were you thinking?" i say to the indonesian. i'm probably red from anger, and he's laughing like nothing happend.

"what? you can't handle some challenge?"

"i can handle it when the rival is not going on my phone and texting my girlfriend to take a break"

"well, at least now we'll know who she's gonna go to, and it's probably not you"

"because she thought it was me who told her that, you idiot!" i push him, and he pushes me back. my legs can't take it, and i sit on the bed. "you're weak. she's never going back to you. deal with it"

nyck stayed with me until i calmed down. we got out of the house and flew all the way to where the race is supposed to happen, and where all the drivers are. including marcus.

in the country, at the airport, to be exact, sean was waiting for us. i have no idea why is he here, but i don't want to see him. i don't want to see anyone apart from my brother.

"julia! i heard what happened. i'm so sorry. just so you know, i'm always here for you" he says. it's surprising. i don't think sean has ever been so nice around nyck. he's usually cold around him, but now he isn't. i just hope this isn't one of his bad jokes.

"it's okay, thanks sean" and we drift off.

how did he know we'll be at the airport? especially at this hour? is he stalking any of us? if he is, i'm gonna have to file a restraining order. i hate stalkers.

~

the receptionist looks a bit shocked to see sean alongside us. "mr. gelael, you're back so soon? mr. armstrong is still mad and-"

"i'm not here for him. i'm here with my friend and my girl"

my stomach turns. "your what?" nyck and i say in unison. "play it cool" he whispers. the fuck i will. i'm so going to throw up on him.

"sorry, he's got it wrong. i'm no one's girl. can i please get the key to my room?" she hands me the room key.

"dare follow me and you're dead." i say while walking away.

nyck behind me is probably beating sean right now, which would be a lovely scene to watch.

on the hallway, i meet marcus. i can't look at him, but i see he's hurt. "julia, please let me explain"

i stop. i need an explanation. "i was alseep at that moment. i have the recording of what sean said to me. he sent the text, it's not my fault!"

"i don't need proof, marcus. i believe you."

he smiles, which makes me smile too. "i'm sorry he hurt you. i promise i won't ever let it happen again. i love you, julia"

"what's that?" nyck asks.

"it's just marcus confessing his love, nyck.
