《Calamity Falls》Chapter 10

I blinked a few times to get past the blurry and fuzzy image of my surrounding before I heard a familiar voice "Are you ok Rie?" the person asked before coming in my sight.
"Will someone tell me what's going on?" I asked impatient. Jace sighed. "It's better to tell her the truth guys than keeping her in the dark" he said then shifted his attention to me. "Rie you passed out when Babe came in and told you Mary was missing" he explained and everything came crashing down
"You're lying. How can you lie to me Ella? I thought we were best friends" I said to Ella not believing. I laughed "It's a prank right? Yeah, I know it's a prank. IT'S A PRANK ISN'T IT?" my brain was jumbled, I couldn't think straight.
"It is not. You don't understand. When you left, I was a mess. I cried every five minutes, I missed you terribly but there was no one their to comfort me except Mary. She would watch me cry myself to sleep. She would lay on the same bed as me when I told her I was too scared to sleep. She promised me she would never leave. SHE PROMISED ME but guess what SHE DIDN'T FULFILL THE PROMISE" I screamed at his face
I gasped "That was the same cloth she wore before she left". Sean grabbed the cloth from her "What do we do now?" I asked terrified. "We go back to the scene of the crime" Sean suggested
"Did you do as I said?" I asked the trembling figure in front of me
"Yes sir. They should be there by now, if my prediction is correct" he replied
"Good. You may go" I dismissed him. I smirked hearing the familiar whimper that echoed the walls of where I was. I walked into the room the whimper came from, over to the darkest part of the room pulling a cord making the light bulb flash on, casting a dull glow in the room, more specifically, illuminating the face of my little 'company'
I pulled out a chair before taking a seat in front of her cowering figure. I smiled down at her "How are you feeling dear?" I asked but got muffled noises as response. "Oh how stupid of me" I facepalmed before ripping off the tape on her mouth. The air was filled with the ear-splitting scream of hers, irritating my ears

"Shut up" I growled and instantly she kept her mouth shut. "Better" I breathe out. "You've not answered my question" I tapped my cheek.
"What did I ever do to you? I've never seen you in my entire life so why do you feel like you could just kidnap me at your will?" she fired at me. Her voice laced with both fear and rage
I saw red and before I knew it the smacking sound of me hitting her face filled the air followed by her cry of pain irritating me the more. I stood up grabbing a her hair before twisting it and pulling her up by it. She stood up immediately and I got in her face "You do as I say and never question me, I'm I clear?" I growled in her face
She whimpered as more tears fell down her face "I said I'M I CLEAR?" I shook her by her hair not caring if I pulled out her hair or not.
"Y-Yes. I understand" she responded biting her lips to stop herself from crying out.
"Good girl" I purred before throwing her back on the ground with a thud. "I'll send someone to bring you your food. I'm sure you're very hungry" as if on cue her stomach gave out an embarrassing growl
I walked out of the room "Only a matter of time darling" I laughed
"Did you find anything?" Jade asked as we came in. I shook my head, tears fell down my cheeks as Jace placed me on the couch sitting me up.
"Nothing" I hiccuped. I felt someone rub my back making me calm down a little.
"There must be something, maybe we're missing something" Sean tugged at his hair frustrated as he paced the living room. Just then the boys came down the stairs running to their parents
"I thought I tucked you boys in" Jade gasped making them giggle
"We pretended" they chorused laughing at Jade's bewildered expression making her huff. Daniel tugged on my shirt
"Yes baby?" I asked him as he sat at my left side with Lee who was sat at my right side

"When will Mary get back?" he pouted as Lee joined him
"Yeah, she still needs to finish the story she was telling us" Lee huffed
"Umm..." I was lost of words looking at my friends for someone to help
"She decided to stay at her friend's place for a while" Jace said making me glare at him but he shrugged.
"Oh" their faces morphed to that of sadness making me bite my lip to prevent myself from crying
"Did she take all she needed?" Lee asked and I smiled. They cared for their sister. I nodded
"She did" I said before placing a kiss on each of their fore heads. "Now go sleep, Jace will tuck you in" I told them.
"Yahhh Daddy" they giggled before running into his arms as he carried them to their room telling them a joke making them laugh. I sighed before looking at Jade and co
"It makes no sense, I'll check it out tomorrow Rie. Don't trouble yourself that much ok?" Sean assured to which I nodded
"Thanks guys" I smiled watching as they all left the house before the sides of my mouth curved downwards forming a big frown. What if we never find her? Even if we do how sure are we she's still alive?
I slapped her in fury "JUST EAT THE GODDAMNED FOOD" I yelled at her but she refused shaking her head vigorously as she pursed her lips in a thin line. "GOD DAMMIT" I yelled frustrated throwing the food at the wall making the girl whimper
I pulled her by her hair making her stand, looking her dead in the eyes "Do as I say or else" I paused before snapping my fingers "That's how fast I'll kill you but I can give you the honours and make your death more painful as I see you like putting up a fight" I growled in her ear before tossing her on the ground like a ragged doll
She coughed struggling to get up as both her hands and legs were tied up. Her hair was messy and sticky due to the blood oozing from her head. I'm surprised she's still alive though and not unconscious, I turned to leave when her voice stopped me "You're messing with the wrong person" she said her throat clearly dry as her voice came out hoarse and forced
"My mom will find you and she will kill you" she said and I could almost feel her smirking. I turned to face her and I was right. A weak smirk was etched on her face with her bottom lip busted, painted with dried blood
"In her current state" I mocked, barking out a booming laughter that made the small room shake. "I'd love to see her try, honestly" I snickered seeing her horrified expression
"You've been spying on us" she gasped in disgust. I smirked "I wouldn't call it spying. You see having men who would do things you ask them just for money is an extreme advantage, don't you think?" I circled her pathetic figure sat on the floor, all that was plastered on her face was pure hatred which only made me laugh
"What do you mean?" she spat eyeing my every move.
"What I mean is, every thing is wonderful when you have everything in your control; Just at the tip of your finger" I replied smiling at her confusion.
"I still don't understand" she said as I walked over to the door
"Soon dear, you'll understand. Patience is the key" and with that I left the room, slamming the door shut.
"They couldn't find anything sir" one of my men said as I approached him
"That's good. Now it's time for phase 2" I smirked
"Should we do that now?" the man asked
"No, let's see them try to find her first" I bared my teeth.
Fav. I am so so sorry I forgot your birthday. I really hope you can forgive me

Centipede
This is a fan fic set in the brilliantly crafted world of Chrysalis, which RinoZ has generously given permission for me to post. Our hero is no transmigrated human, but a genuine monster, spawned from the rich mana veins running beneath a fungal expanse. Unlike other Claw Centipedes, this hatchling is special, gifted with sapience and cunning. Both of which are useful tools to hunt and kill and eat with. Maybe even more useful than claws and stinger. (Probably not). Please join them as they seek answers to life's big questions: Is that edible? If so, how do I kill it? And can I get my kin to do most of the work? 8 91World Wonderer
Mari was happily whisking up some butterscotch slice when our story suddenly whisks her into another world. You'd think it'd be the beginning of another classic Isekai adventure, but it soon becomes clear that things won't be so easy...Her nerdy-teenage-genius summoner has trapped her in his room, no one speaks English, and Mari's gut is NOT prepared for a whole new world of bacteria. Can Mari overcome the travel diarrhea, learn a whole new language and escape before she develops Stockholm syndrome? Most of all, can she learn to flourish in a world so different, yet so similar to her own? ****** Author note: This story is written in response to all the unrealistic, plot-armour Isekais out there. I believe that adventures are more fun when there are unexpected surprises and challenges to be had. That said, this is my virgin voyage into writing an ongoing fiction, so please take care of me @[email protected] Constructive critisms, suggestions and typos in the comments would be most appreciated! Respectfully, Mhm
8 208Homunculi: 6
A powerful family desperate to maintain its position at any cost meddles in the domain of the divine by designing and developing a new race called Homunculi. These creations are honed into brutal weapons to fuel their grand ambitions and keep their secrets hidden.Fresh eyes take in this world as a new Homunculus awakens. Its conditioning and training take an unexpected twist as it develops abilities and skills different from the others of its kind. -------------------- Surrounded by manufactured warriors who are incredibly powerful from day one, our MC will find himself lacking in innate skills and knowledge. Very much a weak to strong story. There is definitely action and adventure within, but expect a slow start that is focused on character growth, building tension, unraveling conspiracies, while learning about a new magical world. Some cooking and some daydreaming within. (I see you slice of life) --------- WIP art by Katie Z.
