《The Monster Inside ➺ Scott. M》CHAPTER 2

left Derek's house frustrated. Not only was the town full of werewolves, there were also the Argents and on top of that; the alpha pack. She had to do something to get her mind off of the problems they're facing right now.
She headed to town, walking in the dark alleys, hoping to find someone. Someone she could feed off of. Preferably someone young.
"Hello, beautiful" she heard a man say behind her after she entered a dark alley. She turned around and saw a blonde man with dark blue eyes analysing her body. She smirked and sped towards him, pinning him to the wall. His eyes full of fear shock as her eyes turned red, black veins under her eyes and long fangs sticking out while she smiled.
"You will not move or scream" she compelled him. She quickly began drinking his delicious, thick blood. Lost in her thoughts, she forgot to stop drinking and soon it was too late to stop. His head detached itself from his body and she let go of him. His body fell on the ground with a loud thud.
"Sorry, love. I didn't mean to kill you. You were pretty tasty though." She chuckled and walked away, hoping that no one saw her.
She arrived at her mansion, smiling as she walked inside. She took a quick shower and texted Niklaus before she went to bed.
Hello, brother. How is everything going? I miss you.

She woke up, stretching her arms as she got up. She put on a white shirt, black jeans and some converse. She brushed her teeth, did her make up, took her bag and headed to school.
As she walked towards the school, she saw Scott, Stiles, Lydia and Allison walking together so she decided to join them. "Hi" she said with a smile on her usually emotionless face.
"Oh hey... I hope you don't mind but we told them what you are" Stiles said while scratching his neck.
"It's fine" she answered as she looked at Lydia and Allison.
"You know that my family are hunters. I'm guessing you don't really me." Allison said as she looked at the ground, embarrassed of all the trouble things her family has done.
"I do like you. You're not like Kate Argent. She tried killing me and my siblings but,as you can see, she failed." Astrid chuckled
"Oh and have you guys heard the news?" Stiles said.
"What news?" Lydia asked curiously.
"The police found two bodies drained of blood. One near the forest and one in town. I'm pretty sure it wasn't a human. I can just feel it." Stiles answered.
"Well, werewolves wouldn't do that" Scott answered.
"I have a theory." Stiles said.
"What's your theory?" Astrid asked the boy.
"Well... since creatures like werewolves and kanimas exist... I thought maybe... you know." Stiles stuttered.
"What?" Lydia qustioned.
"Maybe vampires are real too..." Stiles said, receiving blank stares. "But probably not like the ones from twilight. Obviously" he laughed nervously.
"Stiles. I seriously doubt they're real." Astrid laughed.
"Yeah. They would be in my family's Bestiary but they're not." Allison added.
"It was a good theory though." Astrid chuckled.
"Maybe Deaton will know what it was. That is if it actually is supernatural. It might just be some psycho." Lydia sighed.
"Who's Deaton?" Astrid questioned, sure that she heard that name before.
"He's my boss, a veterinarian, but he knows a lot about werewolves and other supernatural creatures" Scott answered, smiling as soon as he made eye contact with the blonde.

"I'll ask my dad if he ever heard about a creature that would do something like this." Allison said as she smiled at the four.
Astrid scolded herself mentally, knowing that she should've burnt the bodies.
The group decided to go back to school since the lessons were about to start. However, when they walked in, they saw Derek enter an empty classroom after staring at the group. They all looked at each other and decided to go there.
As soon as they entered the room, Allison and Lydia showed him and the group their identical bruises which were made by a girl they've never met before.
"I don't see anything" Derek said, looking at the bruises on their wrists.
"Look again." Scott said quietly.
"How is a bruise gonna tell me where Boyd and Erica are?" Derek said annoyed.
"It's the same on both sides" Scott raised his voice a bit. "Exactly the same"
"Its nothing"
"Pareidolia. Seeing patterns that aren't there" Lydia sighed. "It's a subset of apophenia."
"They're trying to help" Scott said, looking at Derek.
"These Two? This one" Derek pointed at Lydia "who used me to resurrect my psychotic uncle. Thank you" he then turned to Allison "and this one, who shot about 30 arrows into me and my pack"
"Ouch" Astrid said, sitting at one of the desks next to Stiles.
"Okay, alright, now, come on. No one died. Alright?" Stiles joined the conversation. "Look, there may have been a little maiming, Okay, a little mangling but no death. That's what I call an important distinction." Stiles said and Scott nodded. Astrid smiled slightly, the bickering reminding her of her siblings.
"My mother died" Allison interrupted.
"Your family's little honour code killed your mother." Derek paused. "Not me."
"That girl was looking for Scott" Allison said "I'm here to help him, not you" she shook her head, clearly annoyed at Derek.
"You wanna help? Find something real" Derek said with an annoyed expression and started walking away.
"Give her a chance. Okay, they're on our side now." Scott said as he walked towards Derek.
"Well then maybe you should tell her what her mother was actually trying to do that night" Derek answered as he stormed out of the classroom.
Astrid was about to say something but the bell rang and they all headed to their classes. Astrid's first lesson was with coach.
She sat behind Scott and sighed, knowing how annoying that teacher can be. Coach threw a book at his desk and began talking but Astrid zoned out and stopped listening.
She was sucked away from her thoughts when she heard coach ask for a quarter. Stiles took one out of his pocket; however, that wasn't the only thing he took out. When he took out the coin, an XXL sized condom flew on the ground. Everyone looked at it in disbelief before laughing.
"Congrats, love" Astrid snorted and Stiles sent her a death glare.
"Stilinski, I think you... You dropped this. And congratulations." Coach said as he gave him back the condom, taking the quarter from the teenager.
"Risk and reward. Put the quarter in the mug, win the reward." Coach said as he put a mug on the ground carefully. "Okay, watch coach" he crouched down, blew on the coin and bounced it on the ground. It went inside the mug and everyone clapped.
"Okay. Danny. Risk, reward?" Coach said, walking towards Danny's desk.
"What's the reward?" Danny asked.
"You don't have to take the pop quiz tomorrow."

"Coach, it's not a pop quiz if you tell us about it." Danny reminded him.
"Danny, you know, I really expect more from you at this point." Coach said disappointed as he took the coin from Danny.
"McCall, Risk, reward?" He paused. "The risk. If you don't put that quarter in the mug, you have to take the pop... The quiz. And you have to write an essay. Risk, more work." He held up his left fist. "Reward," he blew on his right fist and opened his hand. "No work at all. Or choose not to play."
"But isn't this just chance?" Scott asked, raising his eyebrow.
"No. You know your abilities, your coordination, your focus, past experience. All factors affecting the outcome. So what's it gonna be McCall?"
Scott put down the coin and coach sighed in disappointment.
"I'll do it!" Astrid said happily and coach smiled at her.
"Yes! That's what I like!" Coach exclaimed. "Astrid. Risk or reward?" He smiled as she took the coin from his hand, stood in front of the mug and threw it carelessly. It went inside the mug and everyone clapped. Astrid bowed smiling and went back to her seat.
"Well done Astrid. No quiz for you tomorrow!" He exclaimed "Okay! Who's next?"
Stiles drummed on his desk and stood up.
"There you go! There's a gambling man!" Coach shouted. "Alright, stilinski"
Stiles got into position and was about to throw the quarter but didn't realise that his father, the sheriff, walked in.
"Stiles" the sheriff said, watching his son.
"Yeah coach, I got it." Stiles answered.
"Stiles." Stiles looked up and immediately put the coin down, walking outside. Astrid listened to the conversation.
"I couldn't find her" Stiles said. "I just figured she hooked up with her other friends. Has no one really seen her since last night?" Astrid could hear how nervous or... sad he was.
"No" sheriff replied. "We put out an APB, but... Stiles, all her friends say you were the last person who saw her."
"Me?"
"We hope that it's just a series of bad decisions based on too much drinking. But if you remember anything else, you call me. Alright?" Sheriff told him.
After the class ended, Astrid went with Stiles and Scott while they were talking about Heather, the girl who was missing. They stopped when Astrid's phone rang. They waited for her to pick it up as they stood next to the lockers.
"Hello, little sister" she heard Klaus say.
"Hello brother, we haven't talked in a while. How's it going in Mystic falls?" She asked. She stared at the boys and she could see that Scott was listening to their conversation, making her roll her eyes.
"Good, actually. You should come by soon." Niklaus chuckled.
"I will" she said but saw Stiles and Scott rushing her to finish the conversation. "I would talk a bit longer, brother, but I have to go. I love you" she said and finished the call.
"What?" She asked the two.
"Nothing" Stiles said, putting his hands up.
"We're going to Deaton. Wanna come with?" Scott asked. Astrid nodded and followed them to Stiles' jeep. They got in and headed to the animal clinic.
They got our of the car and entered the building. Since Astrid had better smell than the werewolf, she could immediately smell the mountain ash.
A dark skinned man walked towards a gate separating the waiting room from the back room.
He opened the gate filled with mountain ash and let the three in.
"Who's this?" The man asked.
"My name is Astrid. Nice to meet you." She held out her cold hand.
"I'm Deaton" he looked into her eyes suspiciously after shaking her hand.
They told him that they need to know what happened to Isaac after and before the mystery woman saved his life. It was the same girl who created bruises on the girls' wrists.

While everyone waited for Isaac and Derek to arrive, Stiles remembered to ask deaton an important question.
"Deaton, have you... umm.. ever heard of creatures which drain people from blood?" Stiles asked the man.
Deaton looked at Stiles with a concerned expression. "Yes, actually. Vampires, but they haven't been here in over 80 years as hunters killed the ones that lived here. Why?"
"I told you!" Stiles exclaimed "and once again... I am correct!" He chuckled.
"Stiles." Deaton said loudly to gain the boy's attention.
"The police found two bodies. Drained of blood" Scott said, making Deaton sigh I'm concern.
"Most likely a vampire. I suggest you be careful. The older they are, the stronger, faster and smarter they get. Their senses are also heightened." He told the three. The boys just nodded and Deaton once again looked at Astrid with a suspicious expression.
"
Astrid, when did you move here?" Deaton asked her.
"2 days ago." Astrid answered.
"When was the first body found?" Deaton asked the boys.
"Yesterday but they said that it layed there for-" Stiles was interrupted when Derek and Isaac walked through the door.
Deaton took them to a room with a metal bathtub which they soon started filling up with ice and mistletoe. Deaton explained how regaining his memories works and that it will definitely feel uncomftarble.
"How slow does his heartbeat need to be?" Scott asked as he leaned on the tub. Astrid walked towards Isaac and rubbed his back comfortingly. He smiled at her.
"Very slow" Deaton replied, slightly nervous.
"How slow is very slow?" Derek asked.
"Nearly dead" Deaton answered as everyone looked at him. Isaac touched the ice and immediately pulled his hand away.
"It's safe though, right?" Isaac asked.
"Do you want me to answer honestly?" Deaton asked, raising an eyebrow.
"No. No, not really" Isaac said.
Everyone turned around when they heard a slap of a glove. They all stared at Stiles in disappointment as he was wearing a long glove on his right hand. A glove that went up to his elbow.
"What?" He asked, standing in the doorway. Everyone gave him a 'seriously?' Look.
He groaned and took the glove off, throwing it on the ground.
"Look, if it feels too risky, you don't have to do this" Derek told his beta.
Isaac took off his shirt and exhaled sharply. He got into the tub and slowly layed down; breathing heavily.
He suddenly tried to get out but Deaton told everyone to hold him down. Everyone in the room held him down by his arms, legs and shoulders and soon enough he was calm.
They began asking him questions, trying to get answers out of him. They were trying to find out what happened to Erica and Boyd, Derek's betas.
Everyone looked concerned as they stared at Isaac laying calmly in the tub, his lips not purple. He told them that he saw a volt and Deucalion's people people talking about losing control during the full moon. He then opened his blue eyes. "They're here" Isaac whispered before staring to panic.
Derek began shouting at Isaac as Deaton tried to stop him, knowing that this could scare and confuse Isaac even more. It's dangerous for Isaac to listen to more than one voice at the same time.
"I saw it. I saw the name" Isaac said as he calmed down, getting out of the tub. "Its, uh. Beacon Hills first national bank. They're keeping them locked inside a vault." He paused as he looked at everyone's expressions.
"What?"
"You don't remember what you said right before you came out of it, do You?" Stiles asked as Isaac shook his head.
"You said when they captured you, they dragged you into a room, and that there was a body in it" Astrid said emotionless.
"What body?" Isaac asked.
"Erica" Stiles answered and soon everyone went quiet.
Everyone sat down and they began arguing whether Erica was really dead or not. Since Astrid didn't know her, she zoned out and looked at the ceiling. She got sick of their arguing and left the room. She sat alone until the other werewolves and Stiles left the building. Astrid was about to leave too but deaton stopped her.
"Astrid. Can I talk to You?" He asked as she nodded. She sat down next to the mean and smiled at him. "What are You?" He asked her.
"What do you mean?" Astrid asked, pretending to be confused.
"It's quite a coincidence that you arrived and soon two people were drained of blood" he answered bit Astrid shrugged. "Your pupils are different than normal human's, skin is neither hot nor cold." He added.
"Well, you sure are observant, love. But we can't have you knowing what I am, can we?" She asked as she sped towards him. He looked straight into her dark blue-green eyes.
"You won't remember anything about this conversation. I am a werewolf, not a vampire" she tried compelling him.
"I'm on vervain" deaton said and Astrid sighed.
"Well, will we have to do this the old fashioned way or will you behave yourself? don't worry, I won't hurt your puppies." She laughed as she showed him her vampire face. "If you tell anyone, I won't hesitate to kill the ones you care about. Like your sister. Or Scott." She said as her face turned back to normal.
"Isn't Scott your friend?" He asked quietly.
"I actually do like him and his little pack of werewolves, werewolf hunters and humans." She paused "but you see, I kill my enemies, sometimes even my friends" she smirked and began walking away. "I'll tell them one day. Just not now. I'm not planning on hurting them, actually the opposite, I want to help them" she said as she sped away.

8 125A Fate Shaped by Magick
This fiction was (and is) published on fanfiction dot net under the same title; though as I slowly transfer it to here, I am editing and smoothing it. This story takes place in the Elder Scrolls (TES) Universe mostly ending up in Morrowind. This is a slice of life meant to answer the questions of how (in the TES universe) do mages study and learn, and exploring some of the in-game differences between TES 2 and 3. This book has minimal spoilers for the Morrowind main quest and does not fully explore it. If you think that giant insects would make cool pets - if you like the idea of exploring magic NOT intended simply as killing something better, faster or more gore-ridden, then come on in and enjoy.
