《The Monster Inside ➺ Scott. M》CHAPTER 1

, a blonde green-eyed vampire walked through the dark forest in Beacon Hills. She arrived right after she bought a mansion at the edge of the woods in the small town. She heard rumours about wolves living here; however, she also heard that they do not know about the existence of vampires.

She was tired of her enemies, the fights and wars which seemed to be interminable. To take a break from her complicated life, she decided to leave for a while. The only person who knew where she was is her older brother, Niklaus. She missed all her siblings dearly (some more than others) but she couldn't stand it anymore. She had to leave.

She stopped walking when she heard someone swear, the smell of smoke and human flesh filling her nostrils. With a sadistic smile, she vamp sped to the person; hunger taking over her senses.

She walked towards the man who was desperately trying to turn his phone on. Not only was he lost, his car seemed to stop working.

"Are you lost, love?" She asked with a sweet voice, now standing behind the man.

The man flinched, her voice scaring him. "Uh... Yeah." He replied, looking into her forest green eyes.

"Do you need some help?" She asked him calmly.

"Yes." He told her with a thankful smile.

Astrid smiled back and took her phone out if her pocket, unlocking it and handing it to the man "there, you can call someone if you'd like."

"Thank you so much!" He exclaimed and desperately searched for something on Astrid's phone. She smiled as she watched her prey, her pupils turning crimson, black veins emerging under her eyes and sharp fangs sticking out of her mouth.

"Sir?" she said in a deeper voice. The man looked up at her, fear taking over him when he saw the monster in front of him. He dropped the phone, taking a step away from the blonde.

"W-what are You?" He stuttered, terrified.

She just smirked and vamp sped towards him, grabbing his arms; restricting his movements as she bit his neck. He tried pushing her away but the constant loss of blood was making him weaker and weaker.

The hunger took over Astrid. She didn't realise she drank too much until it was too late and his head fell off, rolling on the ground.. She let go of his body and it fell on the ground. She closed her eyes and her face went back to normal. She, again, looked like a sweet innocent girl. She wiped the blood from the corners of her mouth using her thumb and then licked it.

"Sorry about that, love" she whispered and picked up his body, throwing it in a bush nearby before returning to the forest.

She was now on her way home until she once again had to stop. This time it was because she heard a crash loud crash and a piercing scream. At first, she thought about ignoring them but her curiosity took over; she vamp sped to the origin of the sounds.

When she got there, she saw a blue-ish car with a dead deer stuck in the front window. Behind it stood a blue jeep. Between the cars stood four people, all teenagers. The men who were driving in the jeep tried to calm the two girls down after the traumatic experience.

"It came out of no where" she heard a ginger girl sob.

"Are you hurt?" A tall boy with pale skin and light brown eyes asked.

"It ran right into us" she ginger girl said.

"Are you darlings okay?" Astrid asked as she walked up to them. The four looked at her surprised, not knowing when she walked towards them. Astrid caught on and tried to explain "I was nearby and heard a scream. I decided to check if you're okay" she smiled comfortingly. The four nodded and a darker skinned boy smiled at her.

"I'm okay" the brunette girl replied, breathing heavily.

"Well I'm not okay! I am totally freaking out!" The ginger girl shouted.

"You'll be fine. Although, it won't" she said as she slowly walked towards the deer. She looked sadly at the animal and touched it's fur gently.

"I saw its eyes right before it hit us" the ginger girl calmed down a bit "It was like it... it was like it was crazy"

A boy with dark brown eyes walked up to the deer, standing near Astrid. The blonde breathed in deeply, rolling her eyes at the scent of a werewolf.

"No, it was scared" the werewolf spoke, also touching the deer's fur.

"Actually, terrified" Astrid corrected him as she looked into his eyes.

"Something scared it; most likely a car. It's quite common actually." Astrid smiled at them.

They all then turned their attention on Astrid "Who are You?" The brunette girl asked, still slightly scared.

"Oh.. where are my manners?" Astrid chuckled "I'm Astrid... Manson. I'm 17 years old." She told them.

"I'm Scott" the werewolf said, looking at Astrid with a suspicious look.

"That is Stiles, Lydia and Allison" he said as he pointed at his friends.

"Well.. it was nice meeting you but I have to go. I have school tomorrow" she replied as she started to walk away "call the police if you haven't already."

"You need a ride?" Stiles shouted, making the girl turn around to look at him.

"No I'm fine, thank you" she said as she headed to her mansion. It was a beautiful green colour as it was near the woods. She walked in and looked around, a smile forming on her face when she realised it looked similar to the mansion she and her brothers once built. She went to bed happy and excited for the next day.

The abnoxiously loud alarm clock woke the blonde vampire up. she got up and got ready using her super speed. She grabbed a blood bag, not wanting to end more lives as hunters nearby would definitely begin searching if more people were killed.

She put on a short, white skirt, black t-shirt and black high heels. She then put on her make-up, marking her lips with a nude lipstick. She grabbed her black handbag with school essentials and headed to her new school. Pretending to be a teenager will be fun.

When she arrived, She walked to the school reception to pick up her schedule. After she received, she headed to her locker. She saw Lydia and Allison standing on the other side of the hall.

"I don't want a boyfriend" she heard Lydia say "I want a distraction" Lydia looked ahead and Astrid followed her gaze. There were two men, twins. Alphas Astrid smirked. This will be more fun than I expected.

The bell rang so Astrid, like all tbe other atudents walked to her class. First lesson: English. surprisingly, Astrid managed to find the class pretty quickly.

She saw Stiles, Scott, Lydia and Allison already sitting in their seats. One behind Stiles was free so she decided to sit there. She looked at Scott and Allison; she could feel the tension between them.

"Hey Stiles... Lydia" she said as she leaned in towards Stiles. The two turned around surprised. The two smiled when they noticed the blonde.

"Oh hey..." Stiles smiled at the girl

"Astrid!" Lydia said with a smile.

"Good to see you two again" Astrid said in a sweet tone. "Are you feeling better?" She questioned.

"Yeah but I'm still trying to figure out what happened to that deer." Lydia sighed.

The students went quiet when everyone in the class received a message. Astrid raised her eyebrows and turned on her phone, reading the long text.

"The offing was barred by a black bank of clouds and the tranquil waterway, leading to the uttermost ends of the earth flowed somber under an overcast sky, seemed to leaf into the heart of an immense darkness." A brunette woman spoke as she entered the classroom, gaining everyone's attention. "This is the last line to the first book we are going to read. It is also the last text you will receive in this class. Phones off, everyone" Astrid sighed as she turned off her phone. "My name is Ms. Blake" she said as she walked behind her desk.

Ugh... I forgot how boring school is. Astrid thought as she rolled her eyes.

Suddenly someone entered the classroom and whispered something to the teacher before leaving.

"Mr. McCall?" Ms. Blake said as Scott looked up at her. She mentioned him to walk towards her as he packed his stuff and left the classroom. She left as well, closing the door behind her.

"Uh.. I am sure it's an emergency if your mother needs you to leave school but I'm gonna give you a warning in the nicest way possible" Astrid used her super hearing to listen to their conversation "I am well aware of your attendance record. I don't wanna see you slip back into old habits." The teacher said in a concerned tone.

"I won't" Scott replied. "Its gonna be different this year." He said confidently.

"Resolutions are only good if you stick to them, Scott." Ms. Blake said, not believing him.

"I will. I promise it won't be ephemeral" he said and walked away. Ms. Blake chuckled and walked back inside and behind her desk.

Stiles sighed and looked over to Lydia who was writing in her book. He furrowed his eyebrows when he saw a bandage around her ankle."Hey, Lydia" he whispered, gaining the girl's attention. "What is that? Is that from the accident?" He asked as he pointed at her ankle.

"No. Prada bit me." She replied.

Astrid raised one eyebrow, confused.

"Your dog?" Stiles questioned.

"No, my designer handbag." She said sarcastically "yes, my dog".

"Has it ever bitten you before?" Stiles asked. She just shook her head and began writing again.

"Okay. What if it's, like, the same thing as the deer? You know, like, how animals start acting weird right before an earthquake or something?" Stiles suggested.

"So there's going to be an earthquake?" Astrid snorted and Stiles gave her a death glare.

"Or something" he replied. "Maybe it means somethings coming" he paused "something bad".

"It was a deer and a dog" Lydia said with a surprised expression. "What's that thing you say about threes?" She asked.

"Once, twice..." She said as a crow hit the window. Everyone looked out the window and saw thousands of crows flying towards the school.

More started hitting the glass, blood staining the window. Soon enough the windows started smashing.

"Get down, everyone!" The teacher shouted; everyone went under their tables, protecting themselves.

Stiles grabbed Lydia and hugged her, shielding her from the birds and at the same time, exposing himself.

"Bloody hell" Astrid sighed as she shielded Stiles, knowing that the birds won't kill her. She heard the teacher yelling at everyone to get down once again.

A few minutes passed and soon every bird in the classroom was dead, laying on the floor as fathers floated due to people's movement.

Everyone stood up and looked around. People's clothes were torn and everyone's hair became a mess. "Are you alright, love?" She asked Stiles and lydia. The two nodded without saying a word "Good" she smiled at the two.

Astrid sat on her desk and sighed loudly. She watched as the police arrived and went up to each person, asking them to describe what happened.

"Mr Argent" she heard the sheriff say. Argent? As in the hunter?

"You wouldn't have any insight into this, would You?" The sheriff asked.

"Me?" The hunger asked confused.

"Yeah" he paused "all this bizarre animal behaviour, it's... You must have seen something like this before, right?" The sheriff asked.

"Not sure why I would or why you would think I would." Argent replied.

"I'm sorry. I could've sworn I overheard my son talking about how you were an experienced hunter."

"Ah, right. Well, not anymore." Argent replied and Astrid furrowed her eyebrows.

"You alright?" Sheriff asked Allison.

"Yeah" the girl replied with a reassuring smile.

Astrid walked up to the Argents and smiled at them sweetly. They both smiled back.

"Retired werewolf hunters. This town is interesting" she spoke as she she walked away. The hunters looked surprised when she said that.

The blonde smiled innocently and walked towards Stiles.

"Your friend is a hunter, your other friend is a werewolf. I'm surprised they haven't killed each other yet" she smirked as she stood next to him.

"How did you..." he stared at her with wide eyes. "You're a werewolf" Astrid just smiled at him and winked. He was about to say something but his phone rang.

After a while, astrid saw stiles walking out and heading towards his jeep so she followed him.

"Where are you going?" She asked, catching up to the tall boy.

"Scott" he simply replied.

"May I come with You?" She asked. He scratched his head and nodded hesitantly. He would rather have an eye on her than let her go.. "Thanks!" She chuckled.

They got in the jeep and drove to the woods, parking at the very edge. They got out of the car and walked through the forest. The fresh, clean air making Astrid smile.

They stopped in front of an old, burnt house, making Astrid furrow her eyebrows.

Stiles walked in and Astrid followed. They entered a room and saw Scott with a man sitting next to him.

"Why did you bring Astrid?" Scott asked with wide eyes as the other man just stared at her. She walked up to the man and smiled.

"My name is Astrid Manson, I just moved here. I'm a werewolf too, Scotty" she laughed quietly. Scott looked at her confused as to why he couldn't smell her werewolf scent.

"Derek Hale." The older man replied with a blank expression.

"I can hide my scent, love" Astrid t's Scott when she saw his confused expression.

Derek sighed and looked back at scott, crouching next to him as Astrid and Stiles stood behind Scott who was sitting on a chair. "What's going on?" Astrid asked Stiles who shrugged.

Derek's eyes turned red, making Astrid smirk. So many alphas in one town.

"It's two bands, right?" Derek asked.

"What does it mean?"

"I don't know. It's just something I traced with my fingers." Scott replied as he drew two circles on a wall covered in dust.

"Why is this so important to You?" Derek questioned.

"Do you know what the word 'tattoo' means?" Scott asked Derek.

"To mark something" Stiles said as Derek raised his eyebrows.

"In Samoan, it means 'open wound'" Astrid said quietly. Scott smiled slightly and nodded.

"I knew I wanted to get a tattoo when I turned 18. I always wanted one. I just decided to get it now, to make it kind of a reward." Scott continued speaking as he stared at a wall.

"For what?" Derek asked.

"For not calling or texting Allison all summer." He paused as they all nodded. "Even when I really wanted to, even when it was so hard not to sometimes. I was trying to give her the space she wants." He sighed. "Going four months later, it still hurts. It still feels like a... "

"Like an open wound" Astrid finished his sentence as she looked at him with a sad expression. "I know how that feels". Stiles smiled at both of them sympathetically and rubbed her shoulder comfortingly.

"The pain's gonna be worse than anything you've ever felt" Derek said.

"Ah, that's great." Stiles said sarcastically making Astrid laugh quietly.

"Do it." Scott demanded.

"Oh, wow" Stiles said as he saw Derek light a blowtorch "that's a lot for me. So I'm gonna take that as my cue. I'm just gonna wait outside" the human boy started walking away.

Derek grabbed his arm "nope. You can help hold him down".

Stiles sighed and went behind Scott, Astrid joined him. The two grabbed Scott's shoulders, holding him down.

"Oh my god" Stiles said as Derek neared the flaming blowtorch closer to Scott's arm.

Scott began shouting and moving when the flame made contact with his skin. "Hold him" Derek shouted at the two.

Astrid moved Stiles out of the way and grabbed Scott's other shoulder. She used more of her strength to hold the werewolf down. He was strong but not stronger than her. She held him strongly, making sure he couldn't get up.

Scott suddenly started growing hair, his eyes turned bright yellow and long claws grew out. He grabbed Astrid's arm, stabbing her with his claws; her blood streaming down her arm. Stiles watched in horror. That continued until Scott passed out, not able to take the pain anymore. His grip on Astrid loosened just as Derek finished.

Stiles rushed to the girl and grabbed her bloody arm. "Are you okay?" He questioned, concerned.

Astrid chuckled quietky "I'm fine" she told him "look" she said as the wounds began healing.

fter about half an hour, Scott woke up, covered in sweat. He immediately looked at his arm and saw his tattoo; he smiled. He looked at the three in front of him. Astrid smiled back at him.

After about 5 minutes of celebrating, The teenagers began leaving Derek's house. Stiles and Scott still talked about the tattoo and how Scott needed something permanent in his life.

Astrid left the house but turned back around when the two stopped walking and talking.

"You painted the door" Scott said as he stared at the red door. "Why'd you paint the door?" He questioned curiously.

"Go home, Scott." She heard Derek say.

"Any why only one side?" Scott added.

Scott started scratching the door with his werewolf claws as Derek ran towards the two.

There was a logo painted on the door which Astrid recognised it immediately. She exhaled sharply. Maybe moving here wasn't a good idea.

"How many are there?" Scott asked the alpha.

"A whole pack of them. An alpha pack." Derek replied.

"How does that even work?" Stiles asked.

"I heard there's some kind of a leader." Derek replied, looking and the three teenagers.

"He's called Deucalion" Astrid said as she touched the door gently. They all looked surprised at her and Derek nodded.

"We know they have Boyd and Erica. Peter, Isaac and I have been looking for them for the last four months." Derek said as he looked at Astrid and the door.

"Lets say you find them. How do you deal with an alpha pack?" Scott asked.

"With all the help I can get" Derek told him.

They all went back to the room when they heard a loud noise. A boy with curly hair looked at them while breathing heavily.

"Where is she?" He asked. "Where's the girl?"

"What girl, Isaac?" Derek questioned confused.
