《Charm [NamjoonxReader]》Chapter 5

I watched as two almost fully grown men fought over a swing.
"No!" Hoseok yelled, not budging from the seat he had snatched. "I'm older!"
"That's so not fair-"
"Guys," Namjoon grumbled from beside me, causing the younger male to grumpily sit beside him. Three of us were now sitting on a park bench, two were sitting on swings and the other three were peacefully sitting on the grass.
"Alright," Hoseok clapped. "Let's introduce ourselves."
"Where do we start?" Someone asked.
"Well," Namjoon mumbled. "You already know me."
I nodded in response. Namjoon looked down at the person sitting beside him expectantly.
"Oh," they mumbled after realising what Namjoon wanted him to do. "I'm Jimin," he began. "But you can call me whatever nickname you want."
Nickname? These people want to seriously be friend-friends.
The person sitting closest to him on the ground began talking soon after. "I'm Yoongi," he explained. I expected him to say more but he closed his mouth and looked over at the person beside him.
"Ah!" The next person began, almost like they had been caught off guard. "I'm Jungkook," he paused for a second before shaking his head and speaking again. "Jeon Jungkook."
"Geez Kookie, after all this time you still can't talk to girls," Jimin chuckled. Jungkook shot him a death glare before looking over at the person beside him.
"I'm Jin," the male stated with a relaxed smile. "I look forward to looking after you."
Looking after me?
My eyes trailed up to Hoseok, who was on a swing.
"Well," he muttered. "You know me by Hoseok but you should call me Hobi."
I nodded before looking on to the last person who was on a swing beside Hobi.

"Taehyung," he stated simply. "Call me by my full name, V or Tae," he held a friendly smile on his face while speaking. "I don't mind."
How am I supposed to remember all of these names?
"So," Namjoon began. "What do you want to do?"
Go home.
"U-uh," I mumbled.
Jungkook let out a gasp from the ground in front of us.
"What?" Namjoon asked, causing everyone's attention to land on Jungkook.
"She made a noise," Jungkook shrugged. Everyone turned their attention back to me as if to agree that his reason for gasping was rational.
"I'd l-like to go home," I stated softly.
"Home?" Someone asked. I didn't know who since I was staring at the floor. "Really?" Another questioned in an almost offended tone.
I slowly lifted my head up from the ground to look at the group around me.
"I don't k-know what else we c-could do," I mumbled.
It's not like I go out with friends often.
"What do you think, Namjoon?" Yoongi asked while shifting his gaze toward the person beside me.
"I think..." Namjoon mumbled. "I think we need to work on pulling y/n out of her shell."
I violently waved my hands in front of my face while shaking my head. "T-that's not n-necessary."
"It's a good idea," Taehyung agreed while leaning his head on the swing.
Are they serious?
"Where should we start?" Jin asked while standing up and brushing some loose dirt off his pants.
"How about a movie?" Jungkook asked while everyone else got up from their seats.
A movie? In a cinema? No thank you.
"Sounds good," Hoseok nodded.
This is seriously happening...

"I'll pick you all up in about half an hour," Hobi announced as a few people trailed off. Soon, Namjoon and I were left with each other.
"I'll tell them where to pick you up from," Namjoon assured.
"Do I have to come?" I asked softly. Namjoon gave me a gentle smile.
"Of course," he stated. "How else are you going to make friends?"
"I don't want to make friends," I mumbled, sort of surprised that I hadn't stuttered in two sentences.
"Come on, y/n," Namjoon whined while leaning down to be my height in order to look into my eyes. "Will you do it for me?"
I rolled my eyes while turning away, mostly to hide the fact that his simple gesture made my cheeks burn red.
"I'll do it," I sighed.
"I'll see you soon, then," Namjoon called as he began walking away.
"I guess," I mumbled, mostly to myself.
-=+=-
"Mum!" I called while kicking my shoes off my feet. "I did it!"
Quickly, I made my way into the living room, where my mother would usually reside.
"I had a conversation with someone else and I didn't even stutter," I announced with a proud smile. "It wasn't even pretend this time," I added.
She looked up at me silently, still holding the same blank expression on her face like she always did, before looking back down at the crappy tv we kept in our living room.
Why do I even act like I think she'll respond?
"Also," I began, lowering my excitement. "I'm going out with friends soon."
My mother didn't even spare me a glance this time.
"See you later," I mumbled while turning away and walking into my room.
I exhaled slowly while flopping down onto my bed. Relaxation finally fell over me after a stressful day, but not for long. I opened my cupboard and pulled out some clothes to get changed into.
I glanced out my window, spotting a car out the front of my house.
He's here already?
I quickly threw on the rest of my clothes, fixed my hair and finally made my way to the front door.
"Oh," I mumbled, seeing my mother at the front door. She was staring through the peephole, probably at Hobi's car. "Excuse me," I mumbled, waiting for her to move away from the door so I could leave.
My mother turned around to face me. She looked at me with an empty stare, which held a slight resemblance to a surprised expression before slowly walking past me into the living room.
I threw the front door open and began walking to Hobi's car.
"What took you so long, y/n?" I looked at Jimin, who had asked the question. He was sitting in the front seat, beside Hoseok who was driving. Namjoon was sitting in the back quietly.
"S-sorry," I muttered while getting into the car.
"We still have to get four more people," Hobi sighed.
This has to be a joke...
