《Charm [NamjoonxReader]》Chapter 4

No... Why would he do this to me?
"Come on, y/n!" Namjoon called from across the table. "Loosen up!"
I stared up at him silently as the two people beside me fought about something food related.
I didn't think being friends with Namjoon would involve being friends with the group of people he hung out with. I was sitting at my new lunch table, frozen in fear in the mists of five men I had never talked to, and one man I had newly befriended. I was used to spending time by myself which meant eating lunch alone, so to say I was overwhelmed would be an understatement.
"So," the guy to my right had stopped fighting with the person on my left to start talking to me. "How did you become the newest member of the cool group?"
Doesn't he mean 'how did you meet Namjoon'?
I kept my head down, staring at my lap silently. It's not like I didn't want to reply, I just couldn't. Slowly, my eyes trailed up to Namjoon, hoping he could somehow save the situation.
"I owed her something," Namjoon interrupted, catching on to my distressed expression.
"Oh really?" The guy to my right asked while suggestively elbowing the guy to his right, who didn't seem to be as amused.
"Yes really," Namjoon replied in a relaxed manner.
"So, like, are you her translator or something?" The guy to my left asked before continuing to eat.
"Translator?" Namjoon asked in an almost offended tone.
"She hasn't said a word all lunch," the guy elaborated.
Before Namjoon spoke, there was a slam on our table.
"I have returned!"
There he is, the guy I had been hoping to avoid. Jung Hoseok.
"You'll have to get a new seat," a guy across from us sighed while trying to steal Hoseok's food.

"Why is that-" Hoseok's eyes drifted down to me, which caused him to pause in the middle of his sentence. "Oh."
I'm taking his seat?
"Yah!" Hoseok yelled. "What is she doing here?!"
"What do you mean?" Namjoon asked, still annoyed.
"I didn't know she'd be hanging out with us," Hoseok tried to secretly speak to the others, even though I could hear him loud and clear.
"Do you have a problem with her?" The guy who didn't seem very amused earlier asked while lazily looking up at Hoseok.
"No!" He fought back. "I just thought we'd all be informed before a new person joins, it's kind of a thing all of us-"
That's it. That was my attempt at making a friend. It's harder than expected and I'm too much of a hassle. I'm better off alone, anyway.
Quickly, I stood up from the table and power walked into the women's bathroom.
I don't want to invade on their friend group. It'd be rude.
My back slowly slid down the bathroom wall until I was sitting on the floor. Luckily, I had chosen to hide in the bathroom that the girls barely use because of the lack of paper towel.
It's okay, I'll just forget I ever met Namjoon and continue on with my life. Everything will be okay.
I jumped in shock, hearing a sudden bang on the bathroom door. I had guessed that there was a fight going on outside or something and that I should just stay in the bathroom for safe measure. I mean, a fight would explain the excessive amount of noise coming from the door.
Suddenly, it flew open. I quickly stumbled to my feet and covered my face in an attempt to get away from whoever had just leapt into the bathroom.

That's definitely not a girl.
"Please, I'm sorry, forgive me! I don't not want you in the group, I just thought that maybe Namjoon should've told us you were joining - that's all! I promise that I'll look after you as well as any other person in our friendship group, you're probably a great person!" I slowly lowered my hands away from my face to look at the person who kept blabbering.
Hoseok was on his hands and knees at my feet, begging for my forgiveness.
"Ah," I gasped, unsure what to say. "P-please stop!"
Hoseok's head slowly lifted from the ground to look up at me.
"I-it's o-okay," I mumbled.
"So you'll still be our friend?" Hoseok asked with tears in his eyes.
Woah, this dude gets really emotional over simple things.
I nodded quickly in response, hoping he'd stop and get up from the ground. Hoseok's expression instantly changed into a bright smile.
"I'm so happy!" He began while stumbling to his feet. "When you didn't open the door after we started banging on it, I thought you'd never forgive me."
They were banging on the door?
"Oh," I muttered. Hoseok wrapped his arm around my shoulders confidently before pulling me over to the bathroom door. My whole upper body tensed up as soon as he touched me.
"It's alright, guys!" He sang while flinging the bathroom door open. Namjoon and five of his friends were standing in the hall, probably waiting for Hoseok and me to walk outside. "She'll still be with us!"
Namjoon stared down at me silently with a small smile, before looking at Hoseok's arm, which was still wrapped around me.
"I was really getting worried there," Namjoon chuckled before walking to my side and flicking Hoseok's arm off of me. "Good thing you forgave him."
I softly nodded in response.
The school bell rung throughout the halls, prompting us to our next class.
"What class do you have now?" Namjoon asked me while watching other students quickly walk by. The other six boys were now talking to each other, leaving Namjoon and me to talk separately.
"I h-have a free p-period," I responded, reminding myself of the amazing time I get to spend alone.
"Great," Namjoon stated with a warm smile before turning to his friends. "Guys, we're going to skip this class to spend time with y/n," he announced.
The whole group immediately agreed.
What?
"Come on," someone I didn't know called. "Let's go to the park."
The park?

A Dungeon Tested
Its a hard life balancing all the things a successful dungeon should be doing. Will our newest addition to the dungeon race even survive let alone make it to the top where dungeons such as the megafauna roam? Or will our main character suffer in the dust till some inauspicious and ignoble death at the end of some F-rankers sword? Note this is me having some fun while I wait for new releases of dungeon stories. Feel free to comment on that basis. I will be keeping the first few chapters slow so as to give me plenty to build upon later. I have tentatively given this the gore tag for now. With that in mind "Let the games begin".
8 202Oublivant
Oublivants: a category of dungeons characterised by the antithesis of life, necrosis. "Dungons as a whole tend towards the lethal side when it comes to exploring them; however, an oublivant actively seeks out destruction on a grand scale. No greater example of their deep hatred for life exists than the very first discovery of an oublivant. It was a massive dungeon spanning miles in all directions. It continuously expanded along the surface, so fast you could see it, and left nothing but a scorched, withered wasteland in its wake. Wherever the oublivant resides, nothing but the undead exist, as all living life has been eradicated. Why it is, exactly, the oublivant seem so against life so as to break the passive rule dungeons have is unknown. What is known, however, is that they're a threat that, upon discovery, is to be immediately eliminated." - Archomagus Addiom Onero, Court of VascilNote: This is my first story on royal road. It'd be nice if you were nice... nicely.
