《Skelly Boy》Chapter 24 : Level 6 Acid Rain

“Fuck,” Greg screams as he ducks underneath the General’s blades. Doug tries to help with a spear thrust that is parried—no, the spear shaft is cut clean before a heavy boot lands square on Doug’s ribs, crumbling the skeleton on impact.
Greg had hoped that the narrow alleyway would help, but the deep gouges along each of the adjourning walls, made by the Kapa General’s heavy one-handed swings, quickly convince him that he has made a mistake.
And he also trapped them both. The General’s overall bulk makes running past him impossible, and the Kapa soldiers will be coming around to block off the far end of the alleyway. And while Greg and Doug could outrun the rank and file Kapa soldiers, the General could catch up to them with his longer and more robust body.
Greg watches his death in slow motion as the blades whirl to bisect him and bash his skull. Game Over.
Greg panics and dives for Doug, head resting on a pile of his own bones, the blades clipping his shoulder before shattering it from the sheer force. Greg wants to cry out as the shock of the blow vibrates his bones, but he clenches his teeth, grabbing Doug’s skull as he falls, and with his one good arm and everything he has—
“FORWARD THRUST!”
-yeets Doug’s head straight up, above the alley and into the night sky.
Greg doesn’t have time to consider what he just did to Doug’s still regenerating body as he still has to deal with an oversized turtle monster, only temporarily distracted by Greg’s desperate act. Kapa soldiers are behind the General and now officially block off the other end of the alleyway as they approach the lone skeletal warrior. Greg is screwed.
“Why did you do that?” the General muses, his curiosity at the obviously intelligent skeletal warrior staying his hand, if only briefly.

“Well, no reason…” Greg’s mind desperately wants to stall with a conversation, but nothing witty comes out. So he is left sitting there with one arm, retorting, “I figured a big leather neck like yours would have a hard time looking up,” as he waits for death to come after gibbering nonsense.
And the General smiles viciously, having no intention of falling for the oldest trick in the book.
“Tell your necromancer that his head will be next!”
The General twirls his twin swords to his sides before bringing them up in an executioner’s cross guard.
Death is coming from above.
And Greg closes his eyes as the swish of the twin blades comes to end his little fantasy adventure.
Only for his undead eyes to shoot open as the blades clattered to the ground, and an unearthly shriek fills the narrow alleyway, followed by a crash!
Kapa General has taken Critical Piercing Damage!
Kapa General has been slain.
Doug stands over the dead Kapa General with his basic sword buried deep into the turtle’s throat and his blackened cloak billowing. Blood pools at Greg’s feet as the shock of what happened spreads like the fire raging around the city. And the Kapas surrounding them gasp and scream.
Necro Party has gained-
The System begins before going silent, and then-
Necro Party has-
NECRO Party has-
Necro PARTY HaS-
The System stutters as the underground seems to shake with the sound of something rushing down, like a torrent of water. The Kapas who live underground know this sound means doom and look up with anxiety as nothing, absolutely nothing, can be worse than a flood. And then-
The top of the world seems to explode with green liquid force. And at first, the Kapas think it is merely brownish water, like the color of illness that is their swamp, but something seems different. This water has heat. This water seems to fizzle in the air as if it burning.

What they don’t know is that this is what happens when a foolish wizard level 4 casts a Level 6 Spell against his better judgment and fear of getting eaten by orcs. A simple light shower of acid becomes a raging torrential rain fueled by the ambient mana of the Dungeon. And the excess acid not absorbed by the environment has found its way to the Kapa Capital. And into the faces of the Kapa soldiers and civilians whose only crime is looking up.

Marakar
Far from the exploration he yearned to go on, Rae, the Kijah prince, finds himself in the middle of the impending war between Kijah'dar and Ga'ani. Unknown to him, or to the rest of the states, the Kijah Magister plots to overthrow the queen, and he will stop at nothing to achieve his plans. Marakar is a fantasy adventure series about the island states of Mar’narana (with focus primarily on the two states, Kijah'dar and Ga'ani). Tensions between the big players are rising, with more and more plots getting revealed, and powers are unexpectedly shifting. As the string of seemingly unconnected events grows taut, the smaller nations suddenly find themselves into the midst of things, struggling with the sudden shifting of their boards. On a more meta note, I am trying to develop two storylines parallel to each other. As you might have noticed, odd-numbered chapters are very different from even-numbered chapters. That’s because those are the two different storylines; odd-numbered chapters are in the present, while even-numbered ones are in the past. Once the two eventually meet I'll continue with just the present storyline. This story can also be found here where it currently updates every other Sunday (about twice a month). Feedback is greatly appreciated! Thank you for taking the time to read. :) tw/cw list (please take care of your mental health! Don't force yourself to read these chapters if they may harm you). -------> Chapter 14: hate crime description.
